The Weekend (Part 1/3)
Peter smiled as he hefted his backup up further onto his shoulders. Today was Friday. Who wasn't in a semi- good mood on a Friday? I mean, if you're a fifteen year old high schooler then yeah, it's pretty great. Today was a really good day though. Peter was ready to be picked up by Happy. It was Peters weekend to spend with Tony Stark. His mentor or father figure.
Peter sat on a bench outside the school as he waited for the black sleek car to show up and an grumpy man to roll down the window and demand he gets in the car. Peters leg jumped up and down as he waited impatiently. He couldn't seem to get the excitement to calm down. Not even in the slightest. Knowing that he got to spend and entire weekend with Tony was better than getting two new LEGO sets.
"Hey! Let's go! I'm busy today."
Peters head snapped up at the shout. It was Happy. Peter smiled and stood. He made his way to the car and happily plopped into the back seat. He buckled up and began to blabber on to Happy.
"So, what plans do you have for today Happy," Peter smiled, "I'm so ready to see Mr. Stark. Is he in a good mood? Did he seem happy today? Do you know if he still wants me at the tower?" Peters self-consciousness was getting the best of him at the moment.
Happy sighed, "Kid, from what I could tell, he was pretty happy today." Happy looked at the fifteen year old through the rear-view mirror and couldn't help the smile that spread across his face as the boy in the backseat lit up.
"That's great! Are the Avengers there right now?" Peter yapped. Happy groaned.
"Sure are."
Peters eyes lit up even more, "is Nat there?!"
"Kid, didn't I just say that the Avengers were there," Happy snapped, "that means yes, she is." Peter smiled at Happy. That melted Happys heart. So, Happy rolled up the window that separated the front from the back of the car. Peter laughed.
Peter jumped out of the car as soon as it pulled over and came to a stop. He grabbed his backpack that carried his clothes for the weekend in it. He had packed extra in case he needed it. He brought his Spiderman suit too. Sure, he was staying at Tony's. Didn't mean he could slack off his patrols. Tony would probably try and make him. Peter wouldn't let that happen.
Peter entered the building and the lady at the front already knew who he was. She just waved and watched as the boy entered the elevator. Peter presses the fourth-eighth floor. That was the common area. If anywhere, that's where Tony would be. If not, there's always the lab at the next level.
Peters eyes lit up as the elevators door opened with a ding. He poked his head out before completely stepping out. He was happy to see that Tony was in fact on that floor. Along with Steve.
"Hey kid! Ready for the best weekend of your life?" Tony grabbed Peter by the shoulders and rubbed them a bit. Peter smiled at his mentor.
"More than ready, Mr. Stark!" Peters eyes proved that. Steve smiled at the interaction between the two. Clint came around the corner, stuffing pizza in his mouth.
Clint smiled with a moth full of pepperoni pizza, "Peter-man!" The man tore Peter from Tony's loving arms and squeezed the kid in a hug. Peter laughed at the contact.
"Hey, Clint."
"How come he gets first name basis? I'm Tony!" Tony frowned. Peter laughed.
"I'll try and call you Tony, Tony."
Steve set down his cup of water before turning around to Sam. "Wanna go on that run you promised me?" Sam groaned from the couch. Peter rose a brow at the man.
"Oh come on, bird-boy. You could use the exercise." Peter sniggered. Sam pauses his show to turn and look at the brown headed boy.
"You calling me fat?"
"I don't discriminate! I'm just saying, don't complain if you've got the gain."
"Come run with us then," Sam challenged. Peter shrugged and picked up his backpack from the floor.
"Will do," Peter smirked.
Tony smiled at Sam. "Ain't he precious?"
"I can tell you've raised quite a quippy and sassy boy, Stark." Sam snorted as he stood and headed to his room to prepare himself for his run.
"Alright, we'll have movie night set up when you three get back. Nat's ready to see this new movie. I forget what it's called. Anyway, have fun," Tony ruffled the kids hair before patting him on the back to move him along. Peter smiled and made his way to his room that Pepper had prepared for him whenever he stayed over. Sometimes him and Tony got a little carried away.
Peter grabbed a pair of shorts and a under armor cut off. He also grabbed his running shoes that he left here most of the time. He changed his clothes then came out and waited on Sam and Steve to come back.
"Hey," Nat called as she saw Peter plop down on the couch.
Peter turned to see Nat on a stool next to the island, "Hey Nat! How was Afghanistan?"
Nat sighed, "it wasn't all it was chalked out to be. It was really on the low. The rest is classified." Peter chuckled at the spy.
"Yeah, figured so," Peter sighed.
"Where are you going?" Nat asked as she stood to come around next to Peter and take a seat.
"I'm going on a run with couch potato and Steve." Peter clarified as he ran a hand through his hair.
"Clint and Steve?" Nat asked.
Peter laughed at that, "close, but it's Sam and Steve." Nat nodded with a small laugh. She wrapped her arms around her. The giant hoodie she had on seemed to keep her cozy. "Who's hoodie?"
Nat looked at Peter before a smiled ran across her face. "Steve's." Peter then looked to her pants. Nat noticed and clarified, "Tony's." Then Peter looked at her socks. "Bruce's." Peter and Nat broke into laughter at the moment.
"Nice. I only have one of Tony's hoodies. I got into a rumble one night near a gas station as Spiderman. Snowed that night. I got a little banged up so I swung here. He made me stay. He gave me a hoodie and I kept it," Peter shrugged.
"I just steal their clothes because it's just so much more thrilling to wear than any of mine. Gives me a sense of power. They never dare ask for it back." Nat giggled. Peter smiled at the red-headed woman.
"Ready to go?" Steve asked as he entered the common area. Peter nodded and made his way to the elevator. Sam following close behind. Movie night was going to be awesome. He would be so wore out that it wouldn't be too hard to sleep. The excitement got the best of him sometimes.
