The Weekend (3/3)

Tony was lying awake in bed. He had slept a long night away. It wasn't too bad of a change. Having a kid on his floor of the tower was allowing him to sleep. Tony didn't want to risk waking him up. Though, this was a good change. He felt like he could move all the time now. Of course all it took was Peter to be around him. He was his positive vibe.

"Sir, Peter has been up since six a.m and has since been in the kitchen making breakfast. He's coming your way with food. Shall I let him enter?" Tony's heart skipped a beat. Was he about to get breakfast in bed? It was nine. The kid had been cooking for three hours!

"Y-Yeah. Let him in," Tony stuttered. Tony sat up in bed. The door slid open to reveal Peter. The big grin that Tony loves to see was from ear to ear. The kid felt accomplished.

"Hey, Mr. -Tony. I-I uh made you breakfast?" Peter glances over his creations. There were two plates on the tray. One filled with pancakes with a syrup pourer next to it. Butter was on top already. Bananas were on it along with a few strawberries. The other plate contained eggs, bacon, and hash browns. A steaming cup of coffee was Tony's drink. Tony felt a warmth spread across his chest as he looked at Peter.

"That looks way better than any damn breakfast I've ever had. What made you think of this kid?" Tony was actually curious. The praise made Peter turn a bit pink.

"I-uh-I just felt like doing something nice for you. You're always do something for me. I might as well return the favor." Peters smile could kill any dark side of Tony. Tony felt his chest blossom with another thing of warmth. He didn't know what it was but it was something that he enjoyed. It was almost like when he and Pepper are together. They are in love though. This was almost the same feeling. He loved Peter Parker as his own, didn't he?

"Peter, that's the best thing anyone has ever done for me. Thank you. I love it," Tony smiled, meeting the teens eyes. Peters smile got even bigger, if that were possible. "I-I love you though too." Peters smile dropped. His eyes got wide as he sat down at the edge of the bed like a puppy. His lip started to quiver and his eyes began to water. Tony sat down the fork and began to panic. "What's wrong?! Petey, hey buddy," Tony moved the tray to where Pepper usually was and crawled his way to Peter on the bed.

"Kid, talk to me. Is everything okay? Did you hurt something?" Tony was looking into Peters eyes, looking for any type of pain. None. Peter began to smile through the tears. "Pete?" Tony questioned. Peter just shot into Tony's arms. Tony made a 'hmph' sound from being startled.

"I wove you too Twony." Peters voice was muffled by Tony's AC/DC pajama shirt. Tony could only smile and wrap his arms around the kid in his arms. He fell back against the bed and just held Peter.

"Not a word to anyone," Tony chuckled. Peter chuckled and removed himself. He sat next to Tony's form.

"Try your breakfast. I want to make sure I did good. I mean, the others liked it." Tony's eyes went wide.

"Everyone's awake but me?"

"Yup. Don't worry, we all let you sleep in and took care of that meeting you had," Peter promised. Tony furrowed his brow, he had a meeting? Whatever. At least Pepper wouldn't be mad.

"I almost didn't put strawberries on your pancakes, but I remembered it was Pepper that's allergic to strawberries. Not you," Peter explained as he watched Tony take the tray back and pick his fork back up.

Tony laughed as he remembered something, "one day, I was trying to make it up to Pepper for doing something stupid. I brought her strawberries. My dumbass forgot she was allergic. She was more pissed than when I had walked in to try and apologize." The teen laughed at Tony.

The billionaire cut a bit of pancakes from the stack and put it in his mouth. The teen watched contently as he tried to get a facial expression that would explain how Tony liked it.

"Kid! How the hell did you make these?! These are awesome! Where did you learn to cook?" Tony was shoving more in his mouth. Peter blushed at the praise.

"May and I kinda just mess around in the kitchen," Peter explained. Tony smiled at the boy.

"Well, that's it. Spiderman is over. Become a chef." Peter couldn't contain his laughter on that one.

"That's what the others said. I should just become their personal chef." Tony hummed at the thought.

"They aren't wrong!"

"Spiderman can do both, maybe." Peter chuckled. Tony just laughed too. Maybe these mornings weren't too bad. "What's in today's plans, Tony?"

"I love when you call me Tony, doesn't make me feel old. Anyway, I thought that we could play in the park. Have a picnic like we are not such a misfit family. Then, enjoy the beach. Then, be lazy for the rest of the day."

"Nice, I'll get my stuff ready." Tony watched as the kid practically sprinted to his room.

"Hey, heads up! No, down!" Peter shouted as he ran for the volleyball. Nat watched on the other side of the net in pure interest. She really wanted to make this kid a spy. Peter jumped over Bucky and bumped the ball back over the net. Nat caught it on the other side. Her feet digging into the sand from the force of it.

The picnic they had earlier was great. They were all too excited for the beach though. Tony sat with Rhodey in beach chairs. Tony smiled as he sipped lemonade.

"This was an amazing weekend, Tones. Th kid seems really happy too," Rhodey motioned to Peter. The boy was smiling so big that his cheeks were sure to hurt. Tony smiled himself, the wrinkles around his smile showing.

"I know I'm real happy. It has been pretty great. Let's do this again." Tony agreed. Peter looked over and waved at him. Tony smiled and waved back. Peter smiled again and kept playing. Weekends really are the best.
