Peter Parker. Age 15 and orphaned. The teen walked down a street with warm bread in a sack. He figured he'd sneak out to bring the best for his friends. Sure, they ate but they wanted something really really special. Warm, fresh bread was perfect.

The young teen drifted off in thought at the idea. Who didn't love warm bread? Warm anything for that matter. It was cold in New York almost all the time. There was snow on the ground right now though. Not a ton and it wasn't snowing but enough to make it even colder. After thinking about it, Peters entire body was met with another. Peter gasped and finally realized what had just happened.

"I'm so sorry sir! I wasn't paying attention. I'm really really sorry," Peter stumbled out as he helped the man up and cleaned off his coat, not looking at who it was. Peters warm bread was all alright.

"Hey, Kid. Do you have any idea how much this suit costs?" The man grumbled. Peter bit his lip then looked at the mans face. Peter felt himself fanboy on the inside but his face was read with horror. He had just knocked Tony Stark over. THE Tony Stark! Iron Man! THE IRON MAN!

"You're T-Tony Stark," Peter sputtered. Tony nodded.

"You wouldn't say," Tony sighed. Peter then remembered how he had gotten into the situation.

"Look, I'm really really sorry. Do I need to do anything for you? I could give you the rest of my money. I-I can-," Peter was cut off by the man.

"No, no kid. I'm just kidding. It's really alright, I wasn't paying attention either. Um, where are you going off to. . . alone?" Tony then realized the boy was alone.

"Um, I was just getting some bread for my friends and I, Mr. Stark. I-I'm going back to an orphanage," Peters smile made Tony's heart warm on the cold day.

"Really?" Tony smiled.

Tony and Pepper were looking to adopt. Tony was so preoccupied dreaming off about finally getting a kid that he ran into one by accident. Pepper was unable to produce children, so Tony and Pepper decided on doing the next best thing, adopting.

"Yup. Talking about that, I should really get going. It was really great to meet you. Thank you for all you do, sir. I really appreciate it. I'm a big fan and I couldn't be happier to meet you. Oh, hi by the way. I'm Peter Parker. I'm also Spide- nothing! Um, I should really stop talking now," Peters face turned redder than it already was from the cold. His chocolate brown eyes reminding Tony of the hot chocolate in his own hand that surprisingly only spilled a tad bit on the ground.

"You're also what?" Tony's mind lurched when he heard spider. It reminded him of Spiderman. Wait-! "Kid, what were you about to say?"

"Nothing. Gotta run!" Peter took off. Tony tried stopping him but to no avail. Tony frowned then heard his phone ringing, forgetting about everything else. It was Pepper.

"Hey honey, I'm almost back. I just had to get a sandwich from Delmars. That really good place? Yeah. Happy is taking me back right now," Tony finished as he hopped into the vehicle with Happy. Tony pressed the phone to his shoulder then patted Happy, "back home, Hap."

     Happy nodded, "of course."

"Yes, I'm still here," Tony assured as he put the phone back to his ear, "you w-wanna go today? W-When I get back?" Tonys hands felt clammy. "Of course I want to, I just . . . am I gonna be a good father?" Tony murmured.

"Sir, you'll be great," Happy cut in. Happy gave a smile to Tony.

"Thank you," Tony sighed. "Yeah Pepper, I'll be soon. Then we can leave. Which one are we going to? The one on Oak street? Alright. Bye, love you too." Tony put his phone away, then ran a hand through his hair with a long sigh.

"You okay," Happy asked.

"I'll be fine. Just, nervous. I'm gonna be a father today, maybe." Tony was bouncing his knee in the backseat.

Tony and Pepper held each other's hands as they stood in front of the orphanage. Tony knocked on the front door and an older lady that was around forty opened it.

"Tony Stark?" The woman gasped.

"Hi, Ms . . . ?"

"Aldridge. Ms. Aldridge."

"Hi, Ms. Aldridge. My wife and I would like to adopt, obviously," Tony continued. Pepper smiled politely at the woman, an uneasy feeling crawling up her back.

"Of course. Come right in." The lady let the two in before having them follow her. "Do you know what age group you are looking for?"

"Um, 14-15," Pepper tried.

"We have . . . ten boys and eight girls in that selected age. Gender preference?"

"Boy," The two said in unison.

"Alright, let me gather them and I'll have you see them one by one." Ms. Aldridge walked off. The two took seats in front of the lady's desk that she had led them to.

"Pep, what if none of them like us?"

"Tony, it'll be okay. We'll know when we find our boy."

"If you say so," Tony wiped his sweaty palms on the sides of his pants.

Ms. Aldridge came in and had a clipboard in hand, "prefer any type of hair color? Eye color?"

     The couple shook their heads.

     "Alright, first is Adam Bengals."

"Hi, Adam," Tony greeted. The boy just crossed his arms and rolled his eyes.

"Hi," Adam huffed. Pepper frowned, she didn't really like the attitude.

"So, what are your interests?" Adam took a seat, arms still crossed. His hair short and blonde. His eyes brown.

     "I like comics," Pepper nodded.

     "Favorite subject in school?"

"I don't know. Lunch," The boy snickered. Ms. Aldridge sighed at the boy and rubbed her head.

"Thank you," Tony nodded. The boy got up and walked away, not wanting any other part of it. Ms. Aldridge shook her head.

"Tyler Patrick is next," Ms. Aldridge murmured. The boy walked in and gave a nice smile to Tony and Pepper.

"Hi," the boy quipped. Tony smiled. Pepper did too.

"Hello, young man. I'm Pepper. This is Tony," Pepper announced. The boy had black hair with bright blue eyes.

"I know you two, from TV. Tony Stark, Pepper Potts. I love you two," said Tyler.

"Well, it's nice to meet you. What's your interests?" Tony asked.

"I like roller skating, drawing, and reading. Uh, I like social studies and English." The boy shrugged.

"That's amazing!" Pepper grinned. She really liked  Tyler.

"You guys are rich! That's pretty cool!" Tony smiled at the boy. That's right, Tony sure was rich. Pepper glared at Tony.

"Okay, thank you Tyler," Ms. Aldridge said. Tyler smiles and walks out. Pepper smiles after him.

"I liked him," Pepper whispered. Tony nodded in agreement. The boy was surely amazing, but Tony didn't feel a connection.

"Peter Parker," Ms. Aldridge announced. Tony's heart thumped. That kid. The boy walked in, fumbling with his sweater. Tony's eyes met the boys brown ones. Tony couldn't help but give a huge smile. The boy was awestruck.

"Hi, Peter," Pepper greeted. Peter shook himself from the awe to smile at Pepper.

"Hi, Mrs. Stark. Hello, Mr. Stark."

"Peter, tell us a bit about yourself," Pepper encouraged.

"I-I'm 15. I grew up here in Queens, New York. I enjoy physics, science, and robotics. Um, I don't know what else to say," Peter shyly looked down. Tony just smiled. He felt it. That connection. He liked physics?! Perfect!

"Physics you say?" Tony leaned in, interested.

     "Yeah!"

"Nice, Kid. You're some sort of genius, aren't ya?" Peter didn't wanna answer that.

"Actually Peter is," Ms. Aldridge spoke up. Peters face turned a bit red. Pepper smiled at Peter.

"Um, can Pepper and I have a moment, Ms. Aldridge?" Tony asked, not taking his eyes off Peter.

"Of course, Peter I need you to come here for a second." Tony watched as the boy stood and helped Ms. Aldridge with something.

"I like him, Pep. A lot," Tony whispered.

"I do too, Tony. He's well mannered, mature, and handsome. He's got your eyes, definitely. He's a lot like you, I can tell. There's something else about him that I like," Pepper stared at the boy.

"That's what I'm feeling. There's something else I like," Tony agreed. Tony cleared his throat, catching the attention of Ms. Aldridge.

     "Can we speak with you?"

"Of course, Peter, I need you to take a seat right over there."

Peters mind raced. What was going on? Was Tony going to tell on him for sneaking out earlier? Oh god. Why him?! Stupid Parker luck!

Peter took a seat away from the three but could still hear the discussion due to enhanced hearing.

     "What's his history?" Tony asked.

"Parents died in a plane crash at the age of four. Peters Aunt May and Uncle Ben took custody of him. His Uncle died at the hands of a robber when Peter was twelve. Peter had saw the whole thing. His Aunt May died of cancer five months ago. He has no remaining family left, so he's here." Pepper had her hand over her mouth. The other latched onto Tony's hand. Tony had a sad look in his eyes as he casted them downward.

"So, can we adopt him right away?" Tony asked, clearing his throat. Peters eyes went wide as soon as he heard it. His heart skipped a few beats. Was this really happening?!

"Of course. I need you to sign a few things. Would you like to ask Mr. Parker himself?"

"Yes," Pepper demanded. Tony and Pepper made their way to Peter.

"Hey, buddy," Tony caught the attention of Peter. Peter looked up to the man and stood. "Would you like to come home with us?"

Peter didn't hear wrong, did he? Peters eyes began to water and he attached himself to the man and woman in front of him.

"I'll take that as a yes. Alright, let's get those papers signed. Go ahead and get your stuff, kiddo." Tony ruffled the boys hair.

"Thank you so much," the boy took off.

What a great start this was going to be . . .
