In His Head (Spideypool)
Spiderman swung through downton New York, his chest heaving with each pull at his webs attatched to skyscrapers. His spidey senses went wild as he turned mid air to see what the danger was. A flash of red and black slammed into him as he hit a rooftop. Spiderman rolled before smacking the side of the roof, coming to an abrupt stop. His already damaged back taking most of the hit. Spiderman rolled onto his chest as he wheezed in pain. His right eye stayed squeezed shut as he looked only with his left to see Deadpool standing on the other side of the roof, completely untouched.
"Pool?" Spiderman asked in confusion. Why did he tackle him like that, he knew better. "What the heck, Pool? I called you because I needed help with the enemy, not for you to pretend to be my enemy." Spiderman glared at his partner as he helped himself up, leaning forward slightly as his ribs constricted. Deadpool continued to stare at Spiderman without any consideration for the younger man. Spiderman rose a brow under his mask as he looked at his partner. His spidey senses continued to buzz. "Deadpool?" Uneasiness snuck into the hero's voice.
Deadpool reached back and unsheathed one of his katanas. Spiderman's senses went haywire as he took an uneasy step back from his partner, his heel meeting the rooftops concrete edge as he did so. "Wade, what are you doing?" The taller man didn't answer as the whites of his leather mask glared at the shorter man. Spiderman's hairs on his arm were standing up underneath his red suit as his heartbeat picked up. He began to feel the small rise of panic in his stomach as he began talking to Karen. "Karen, what's wrong with him?"
The AI spoke sweetly to Spiderman, "Nothing is showing up on my scans, Peter." Spiderman frowned at the answer. "Call Pops, do not call Dad." The phone went through as Deadpool began stepping towards Spiderman.
"Peter? Are you alright?" A slighlty worried captain spoke within Peter's comm link in his mask. Peter took a moment to answer as he readied his webs at his partner.
"Pops, something is wrong with Wade. He's not answering me and he tackled me mid-air onto a rooftop. I don't know what's wrong with him. I don't want Dad to know either because you and I both know what his firt initiative will be." Peter's heart was thudding in his ears as Deadpool continued to make his way to the younger hero.
Steve's voice became more stern, "Peter, I have to tell Tony. If Wade is acitng this way it must be some sort of mind control. You and I both know if we're going to figure it out, Tony would be the one to do it. Especially from his standpoint. I am on my way with your Dad. If Wade comes at you Peter, I need you to hold your own. I know that you know he can take a hit. If it is mind control, he may still be somehwere in there and you know he is trying to fight it. So I need you to fight." Peter began to feel nervous and torn about the situation. Wade was just a few steps from him, his katana at his waist. "Peter!" Peter snapped his attention to the video camera of his Pops and now Dad who had already suited up. Tony glared into the screen, "you have to fight him, Pete. We are on our way." Peter gasped as Wade lifted his katana and swung. Peter flung himself away and he heard as the katana smacked the concrete wall behind him. His dads yelling through his comm link. Peter hung up on them so he coud focus on the man in front of him.
"Pool, stop!" Spiderman was back on his feet as he turned to the merc. Now, both katanas were drawn. The last thing the young hero wanted to do was fight the man in front of him. This was his bestfriend, his sidekick, his lover. Peter heaved another breath of air as he webbed Deadpool's feet to the rooftop. The merc glared and broke through it easily with his katnas. He kicked off the side of the rooftop and threw a katana at the younger man in red. Peter's masked, white eyes went wide as he ducked the thrown katana but was caught off guard as the other still wielded by the ex-merc sliced through his right arm. Peter let out a yelp as he was grabbed by the stronger man's open hand and slammed into the ground. Peter pushed up on the man's chest. Deadpool brought his katana down only for Spidey to stop it between both hands, the blade inches from his face. "W-Wade, please. I do not want to fight you. Please, stop!" The younger superhero was on the verge of tears as he realized he was really going to have to hit the man if he didn't want to die. The ex-merc responded with taking a hand off the katana, pushing on it with his chest instead as he continued to straddle the vigilante, and brought his fist down into the superheros face multiple times. Spiderman whined with the last hit, his hands wavering as he struggled to hold the blade. Deadpool reached down and ripped the front of the mask off, the back falling onto the top of the roof. Peter's wide, brown eyes met the unphased merc's white ones.
"I will fucking kill you."
Peter's heart fell as he heard the words come from his lover's mouth. The only words he had spoken to him. The words were harsh and rough. Peter had only heard Wade like that one time. It was when Peter was in the grips of the enemy, yet here he was in the same position, only Wade was the enemy. Peter gritted his teeth as his eyes stung with unshed tears. The younger man grunted as he brought his knee forward and flung Wade over him. Peter quickly got to his feet, the city hair hitting his bare face as he faced the mercenary who stood only feet away, wielding one broken katana and the other that was uncompletely unscathed. Peter webbed the swords before flinging himself into Wade. It was a few kicks and punches here and there between the two men in red before Peter got a good kick to Deadpool's head. The merc dropped the katanas as he hit the ground. Peter used the opportunity to web Wade to the rooftop. Peter held his bad shoulder, the blood blending in with his suit, as he limped to the bigger man's side. Brown eyes met the masked white ones once more before Peter knew what was happening. The merc had a strong grip around Peter's throat, the webbing left behind on the man. Spidermans hands clawed at the hand englufing his throat as his feet fought to try and touch the ground. Peter gagged as air began to become foreign to his body.
"W-Wade," Peter rapsed. He took one hand to reach for the mans chest, using any strength to push the man away. Peter began to feel the tears spill from his eyes. The night becoming darker. Peter reached and grabbed the front end of Wade's leather mask. With what strength he could manage, Peter pushed it up and over the man's head. Wade's eyes met Peter's and it only made Peter allow more tears to fall. "I-I'm sorry." Peter stopped struggling as his vision went completely black. The hand he had used to take Wade's mask off fell limp to his side as his head leaned forward, his brown fluffy hair leaning from his forhead. Wade dropped the younger man and watched as he landed in a heap on the roof. Wade pulled his mask back down and picked up his katanas, putting them back in their places on his back before turning away.
"Peter!" Wade stopped in his tracks as he heard the yell from behind him. He turned back around to see Captain America and Ironman land behind the younger man's form. The super soldier went to his knees as he rolled the superhero over to his back. The pale man's limbs fell sluglishly. Wade smiled at the scene. Ironman made eye contact with him as he held up a repulsor, the mask retracting to show his panicked and confused face. Wade took out his unbroken katana and faced the man.
"If you fucking killed my son Deadpool, I will make sure I find a way to kill you for good. Do you fucking hear me? Give me one good god damn reason I shouldn't blast a hole in you right now." The billionaire's voice wavered as he gritted his teeth at the mercenary. The captain giving his son mouth-to-mouth and chest compressions in the background filled the night air of the loud city.
"Wade can't hear you, Stark. I suggest you start making funeral arrangements for the kid now. I'll be sure Wade is back to you in time." Tony grew red in the face as he took a threatening step forward.
"Wade. I need to you fucking fight for me right now. You are the only one that can tell me where he is. I cannot lose both of you today. Do you hear me? I will not lose both of you! Snap out of it!" Tony could hear his husband become more frantic behind him, the sound of Peter's chest getting pushed in was ringing in his ears. All of a sudden, Wade dropped the katana, and dropped to his knees. Tony ran over pinned him to the ground, repulsor heald steadily in his face, "where is he?!"
Wade screamed and thrashed and dug his hands into the concrete before he was able to grunt out, "s-second floor, r-right b-b-building." Tony punched Wade across the face for good measure, because he still deserved it, before he shot himself through the first window he saw on the second floor of the building on the right. He was immeditaly met with a man, a purple glow flowing around him. The man's eyes went wide before he was shot in the shoulder with a repulor beam and drug out onto the rooftop. Wade was on all fours, taking in air, the mask rolled up to his nose. Steve was leaning Peter's head back and blowing more air into his chest. Tony dropped the man onto the rooftop and held him there by his throat. Wade stood, limping over and standing next Tony.
"Now, I'm going to fucking kill you." Wade brought down the katana. Tony watched as he stepped away with Wade. The man let out a weird squealching noise as Wade took back his katana, flung away the blood and put it back in its holster. Tony wasted no time in turning around and getting out of his suit to run to his husband and son.
His lover's eyes were red as he stopped and look up to Tony. "No, no, no, no. Come on, we have to keep trying." Tony dropped on the other side of his son and began chest compressions. Whispering the numbers under his breath. With each time he pushed down, he felt his heart sink lower and lower.
"Tony."
"No, Steve."
Tony stopped to lean his son's head back and continued another set of chest compressions. Wade sluglishly walked closer before dropping to his knees. He pulled his mask off completely as he watched his boyfriend's body flinch with each chest compression. Wade let himself cry as he watched. Something caught the corner of his eye he slowly looked over to his right thigh to see the front of the Spiderman mask laying next to him. Wade sobbed as he picked it up gently and held it to his chest. His tears smacking the concrete below him. Tony was loudly shouting each chest compression now. After he reached another round of thirty, he pushed Peter's body. "Goddammit, Pete! Come on!" The super soldier reached for Peter's face and put his forhead to his. Tony fell back onto his hands and began to lose his ability to breath correctly. Wade watched, his body turning to ice as he realized his boyfriend was gone because of him. Steve leaned up and blew into his sons mouth one more time and began doing more chest compressions. Sobbing in between each one. Wade watched as Tony fell back completely and his hid face in his arms. The billionaire had told him once that he would never be good for his son. That the relationship was not a good idea. The mercenary vowed to prove him wrong every day. He stopped killing people. Not only to prove to both of the men, but also his lover that he would be better. He hand't killed anyone in a year, until now. He had killed two people in one day.
Wade knew the men wouldn't want to see his face. So, Deadpool steadied himself as he tried to stand. But, before he could bring his other leg up, a large gasp brought his attention to the three men in front of him. The younger man's eyes were slightly open as he began to become aware of his surroundings. Tony pushed himself forward to look over his son. Steve watched as Tony put a hand on Peters face and cried. "Pete?"
"D-Dad," Peter rasped but winced slightly, his throat throbbing. Tony flung himself against Peter. Peter smiled slightly as Stever kissed his forehead and put himself over the other two men. Wade watched in shock, but felt immense relief.
"Wade." The merc looked up to see Steve looking at him. The man had an arm outstretched for him. Wade shook his head. Tony and Steve let their son have some air. Peter turned his head towards Wade, their eyes meeting for the first time since the incident. Peter looked at him confused before turning away. Tony stood and walked to Wade.
"Wade. I asked you to fight. I need you to keep fighting. Come here. My son needs you." Wade looked up at the man in suprise. Tony helped the bigger man up and led him over to Peter who wore a black eye and brusies across his jawline. An even darker bruise in the shape of Wade's hand was slightly covered under the suit around his neck. Wade almsot threw up at the sight. Peter was the last person he would have ever thought he could hurt. He proved himself wrong.
"W-Wade?" Peter's eyes filled with tears. The youngest man began to push himself up only for Steve to put a hand on his chest. Wade lowered himself to the ground next to his boyfriend.
"Petey, I-I'm so fucking sorry. I promise I didn't want to hurt you. I promise, Spidey." Wade held Peter's good arm's hand, squeezing it to his chest. Peter shook his head as he cried with Wade.
"I'm sorry I-I hit you, Wade." Wade shook his head and hugged the smaller man to his chest.
"Don't you ever be sorry for that, Peter. I mean it. Don't you ever be sorry." Wade rocked slightly, running a hand through Peter's curls and grabbing him tighter as if he might disappear. Tony put a hand on the bigger man's shoulder.
"F.R.I, I need you to bring me a suit out here. I can't move Peter wihtout keeping his back straight." Another suit showed up within minutes. After Tony and Peter were on their way to the tower, Steve and Wade met eyes.
"Captain, I understand if you want me to go home or never see him again. I will never be good enough for him and everyone but himself knows it. I can't let something like this happen again. I promised him and myself I would be the last person on this planet, in this universe to even touch a hair on his head. I just ask that I can properly say goodby-"
"Wade Wislon, I would not choose any other man to take care of my son for the rest of his life other than you." Steve and Wade were standing, facing each other now.
"What?"
"I know he is safe with you. I know that if it came down to it you'd choose him every single time. You may not think we love you or even like you, but I promise you we do. Tony and I are just very mother hen-like when it comes to Peter, but he's our only kid. Our only chance we have as a family. We cannot lose him, but you are part of that now. We cannot lose you either." Steve was serious as he held eye contact with Wade. Wade smiled as he looked at the Captain.
"Thank you."
"Now let's go check on our boy."
Back At Avengers Tower
Peter groaned as the he felt the IV shift in his vein. Bruce checking the fluids running through him. Tony stood over his kid as he watched intently. "I know, Pete. I'm sorry bud," he frowned as he tapped his leg. Peter smiled at the man.
"I'm alright, Dad. I'm already feeling better." Tony just gave him a look before Peter just sighed and looked back out the towers window. Before he knew it, the door swung open. Peter's attention was on the door. His Pops and boyfriend made their way in. Wade surprsingly had his mask off in the tower. Wade had never shown his face like that among the entire team. But he could tell he didn't care. Wade was at his side immediately.
"Hi there, Spidey," Wade grabbed his hand and rubbed the top of it. Peter smiled at the man as his eyes began to grow heavy.
" 'M tired," Peter mumbled. Wade nodded and kissed his forehead.
"We'll be here when you wake up." Peter's bruises had began to fade, as well as the fear he felt being faced with his lover in such a manner. Wade continued to run his hand through the brown curls. This time, he promised himself to protect Peter, even from himself.
