I Can't Do It Alone
"Locals have been bursting out in conversation today with the newest sensation of Spiderman. People have reported of knowing Spidermans name as of just this morning. Says there was an incident where Spiderman was found with his mask off when someone took a picture and one of his school buddies shrieked Spiderman. From this, Spiderman is now confirmed as fifteen year old, Peter Parker. Where does he go next?" Tony picked up the remote and smashed the power button. The only thing running through his mind was to get his kid out of that apartment along with May. Somebody is bound to figure out where he lives and it will not be good. There's Spiderman fans and there's the not so good ones.
"M-Mr. Stark?" Tony knew before he whipped around that it was Peter. Stark noticed the kid was breathing harder and his eyes held urgency, confusion, hurt, and most of all shame. "I-I don't know what to do. I didn't find out until earlier when, when someone not-so-nice. . . called me freaky Peter Parker. Sir, I can't do this alone." Peter's eyes stung with tears as he blinked them away and tried his hardest to swallow that stubborn lump in his throat that was like a trigger on a gun; Once you let that out then you better be ready for the waterworks on the fourth of Cry!
"Pete, this is all going to be okay. School will be okay. Happy is now on the way to pick up May so nothing happens to her. You'll be put on a floor of the tower, okay? When this all settles down then we can move on from this. I'm going to be by your side the whole way." Peter sobbed and dropped to the ground in a sobbing heap.
"Pete, hey, Pete it's gonna be okay." Tony rushes to Peter and grabbed him in a hug. "Pete, you've got to calm down." Tony feared a panic attack was near. He couldn't see someone he loved so dearly to through the pain he's gone through.
"I'm calm. I'm calming. It's just so much, Tony. I didn't do anything wrong! That mugger ripped the mask off! Before I knew it someone got a picture and it blew up. It's on every news channel and now . . . It's hitting the streets. Prisons. Jails. I'm not safe. Neither is May. That's why I've got to leave. I need to get out of the city." Peter stumbled as he stood. Tony got up with him.
"No, not happening! They will have to get through this whole damn security system and me before anyone of any kind lays a hand on you. I mean it, Peter Parker. They'll all know your name but they won't know you. It will blow over. Go to school and everything. I'm telling you right now that there will be more people who thank you rather than hate you." Tony said sternly. Peter was wiping his face and trying his best to stand up completely straight with his chest high and brave.
"Thank you. I'll stay. Just, don't leave." Tony took Peter back into a hug as he grabbed at the boys spider suit.
"Never. I will never." Peter hid his face in Tony's shoulder and Tony leaned into Peters shaggy mop of hair that was once hidden by his mask.
"Peter!" Tony and Peter looked up in each other's hold and saw Happy and May at the elevator door. Peter smiled and breathed in relief. Happy was smiling also. May came over to the two boys and gave Tony a hug before Peter. Tony was, to say the least, shocked out of his mind. He accepted though. May let go, although, before she did she whispered something into Tony's ear that mad him smile warmly at the shorter woman. May looked to Peter next.
"Peter Parker, my sweet little boy, all over the news and accused of being an amazing hero that's saved over half this city time and time again. I love you. This will blow over. I'm sure something else huge will happen and this will be covered. Although, I think you should walk into that red ribbon and announce yourself as you planned." May smiled as she fixed her nephew's hair.
"Of course, May. I plan on making a huge gathering making the kid come in and take off his mask like it's the first time." Tony butted in. Peter smiled at his father figure.
"Thank you." May said, pleased.
"Of course, ma'am."
"Um, kid, you better do it soon. You can't keep the mouth shut in the car and you better not now. If ya do, I think I might lose my mind if you keep the mouth closed." Happy encouraged. Peter smiled brightly at his amazing driver.
"Thanks, Happy."
"Happy to oblige."
"So, we going Pete? The people of New York are waiting for their hero to be unmasked in person." Tony clapped his hands together and created friction.
"Yes, Mr. Stark."
"Tony, Kid."
"Right, Mr. Stark."
"Alright."
