Car Accident

There he sat. Felt like years. It's been a week. A whole week. Flashbacks haunted him. The beeping of that damn machine. Not his lab machines. The low lighted hospital room. The pale body that lay in it for a whole damn week. When had it gotten this bad? Tears soaked his clothes. He's eaten and drank once. He hasn't showered and he could feel the grease in his hair. His unkept form. His own rapped hand that had been hurt in the incident. The accident.

"Tony."

The brown eyes sluggishly looked up at the blonde. Her lips turned upside down from her normally bright face. A frown.

"Tony, you need to go. Get some rest and something to eat, shower, and get on some new clothes. I'm sick of telling you," Pepper sighed. She was sad herself. She knew what this meant to Tony. "It's been a week Tony."

"I know," Tony's dull hoarse voice answered.

"Peters aunt went home to rest even," Pepper frowned again.

Tony shuddered at the name. Oh god. It was all real.

Flashback:

"Mr. Stark! I didn't know you'd be here!" Peter smiled as he hopped in the car. Happy groaning as he listened to that known 'I'm gonna not stop talking' voice. Happy rolled up the glass that separates the back seat from the front. Tony had decided that he'd go with Happy to pick up Peter. He was bored and craved to see the teen.

"Ah kid, I can't stay away from you for too long." Tony ruffled the boys hair before smiling as the boys brown eyes met his own. Happy pulled away from the side of the road and into the busy streets of New York. Peter buckled and messed with his seatbelt before his attention was fully on Tony.

"What's going on today?"

"Well, I planned on getting your suit that upgrade we were talking about. We have an Avenger meeting too. I want you there in it. Cap and all of them will be there. We're working on getting them back. Amends have met there and . . . I miss them," Tony replied, honestly.

Peter smiled, "me too."

Tony looked at the kid before smiling. The warm moment was cut off when Tony's eyes flicked to Peters window. Tonys eyes widened in horror. "Kid! Down!" Peter flinched as the spidey sense kicked in and Peter jumped into Tony. Trying to save him from any harm. Tony held onto him and the truck collided with the car.

It was all black for a moment.

Tony groaned when he came to reality. Where was he? He looked at his hands. One of them was completely covered in blood. Glass stuck out in all places of it. Tony cringed at the sight. Tony then remembered, Peter. Tony's head whipped to the side and saw the kid. Peters face was covered in blood. A piece of something stuck out of the kids shoulder. Tony's stomach turned and a white scary force blossomed through his entire body. It was fear. A sense of scared that scarred Tony.

"Peter! Pete! You gotta wake up!" Tony tried getting out of his seatbelt but it was stuck. The car was upside down. Where was Happy? Tony looked through the glass. It wasn't completely broken. Tony created a fist with his already glass filled hand and punched through the glass. Pain blossomed through the limb. Tony didn't acknowledge it. Happy was starting to wake and looked at Tony.

"Tony! Are you okay?!" He asked frantically. The seatbelts held everyone in there seats. Thankfully.

"I'm fine. The kid! Happy I can't get out!" Tony was frantically ripping at the buckle. Happys eyes lit up with a different kind of fear. Sirens were heard and The next thing Tony knew, he was being put into an ambulance. When did that happen?

"Peter! Where is he?! Where's the kid?! Happy?!" Tony was shouting and struggling against the medics.

"Somebody calm him down! Put him under!" Tony was getting tired. Too tired . . .

Tony gasped and sat up. Pepper was on her knees and shaking him. Tony looked into her eyes, wildly. He looked at the hospital bed and a sob erupted from his throat. Rhodey was there now. He watched with a worried expression. What happened to the sarcastic asshole? Tony sobbed and Pepper pull him into a hug. The man sobbed into his wife's neck.

"He's in a coma for g-god knows h-how long! I-I can't . . . not without h-him Pep." Tony sobbed. Peppers heart broke as she cradled the mans head into his neck.

"Oh Tony, he'll come around soon. It won't be forever," Pepper soothed. Rhodey was scared to see his best friend like that. He looked to the form that lay in the bed. It was that bubbly kid that looked up to Tony. Peter Parker a.k.a Spiderman. Rhodey loves that kid. More than he would like to admit. Honestly.

"Let's go home for a while. Happy is visiting family by the way. They wanted to make sure he was alright." Tony nodded numbly.

It's been three more days. Tony entered the room after three days of resting. He felt new and cleaner. He had a better attention span. He wouldn't miss a beat of Peter now. Tony took a seat. A week and three days of no Spiderman. No kid to blabber in his ear, making him feel like a proud dad. Tony ran a hand through his clean hair. He'd sit here for another damn week if anything. He just wanted to see his kid happy and bright again.

Tony sat there alone. May had been there for the past three days. May wasn't upset with Tony at all. She just wanted the same as him, for Peter to wake up.

Tony starred at the boy. He scooted his chair straight to the bed side and took Peters hand in his. Tony sat there for two hours before he felt something. Tony's eyes snapped to the hand in his. It was squeezing a bit at Tony's. Tony looked at Peters face and the boys eyes were open and he was smiling.

"Peter!" Tony shot up and hugged the boy. The man pulled away and noticed the boy was trying to talk but ended up coughing. "Here's some water." Tony grabbed the water bottle by the bedside and helped Peter drink it. The teen closed his eyes in ease.

"Thanks, Mr. Stark." That voice made Tony's eyes swell with tears. He put the water bottle down.

"I'm so sorry. Oh god, I've missed you. A week and three days is too much, Kid. Too damn much. You scared me so bad." Tony was back into the kids space. He hugged him. Peter smiled and hugged back.

"It's not your fault, Mr. Stark. I'm sorry I scared you. I was scared too. I'm happy I'm back," Peter mumbled into the mans chest. Tony breathed a relief sigh. Then, the door opened and the two retracted. It was May and Rhodey. May gasped and tears formed into her eyes as she shot straight into Peters arms.

"Oh my sweet baby! I'm so happy to see you awake!" May was sobbing into the boys chest. Peter just smiled weakly and let his aunt cry.

"I love you too, May."

"Nurses are on their way to give him a checkup. I'll leave-."

"Stay, Tony. You mean a lot here. You too Rhodey." May demanded between wiping her tears and leaving her nephews chest.

"If you insist." Tony smiled warmly then back to the boy in the bed.

"I heard everything by the way," Peter looked to Tony.

Tony went red.

"I love you too, Mr. Stark."

Rhodey smirked, "damn kid, you're gonna make him go so soft that he's gonna be a puss-."

"Language around my kid!" Tony barked.

Peter rose a brow, "you're kid?"

"I mean-."

The nurses came in and did the checkup then gave Peter food then left. The three adults took seats and watched as Peter at his jello.

"You said a week and three days? What about school? What about the city?"

"All covered, Pete. Nat has been on patrol for you. She's clear with missions for the next two months. The rest of the gang has been pretty sad without ya kid," Rhodey assured. Peter smiled before he started to slowly eat his jello.

"You getting tired there buddy?" Peter merely nodded at Tony. Tony smiled when the boy fell asleep with his plastic spoon in his mouth. May watched Tony take the spoon away and the eaten jello cup. Tony threw that away before covering Peter up with his hospital blanket. "Love you too, kid." May smiled at the scene. Maybe she should let Peter stay with Tony a lot more.
