A/N: Yay! Another chapter. I hope you guys like this one, I worked on it as much as I really could - school is a lot now lol. But that's not important at the moment. What is is this chapter, which is one that I think you will like. (I'll add a song later, I'm at school rn)
Disclaimer: I don't own this stuff :)

Peter couldn't remember ever having been more happy than he was right now. Not only did he have all of his friends at school, one of them lived with him now! Percy seemed sadder than he had been previously, but that made sense in a way. He didn't really have to hide it anymore. Partially because he wasn't coming to school for a while (Tony had arranged some kind of at-home schooling until Percy had recovered a bit.) and partially because there was no longer anything to hide. Regardless, Percy played more games now, and smiled more and watched movies with them, and Peter was excited to be living with a friend. More than that, he was excited to be living with a friend who was in the room with him frequently.
"Tony, when will Percy be back?"
"In about twenty minutes Peter. I know you miss him, but it's important that he does this, okay?"
Peter merely nodded before running off to read one of his many books - one in the Magic Tree House series. True to Tony's word - something that Peter expected at this point, Tony was so rarely wrong - Percy was being wheeled into the living room twenty minutes later (looking mildly put out, but that wasn't unusual for him, Percy hadn't been shy about how much he disliked the therapy he had been put into. Steve was smiling though, so Peter figured something had gone right.
Regardless of that, Percy was back, which meant that he and Peter could play something together. It had been hard, at first, with most of Peter's games requiring either speaking or an ability to read quickly. (Something Percy couldn't do - Peter didn't know why, nor did he care, really. It was just another part of what made Percy Percy. ) Now however, they had found some things that they could do together.
"Percy! Want to play that counting game?" Peter said excitedly, walking up to the wheelchair bound boy.
Percy nodded before reaching into the pocket sitting on the side of the wheelchair he was stuck in, pulling out a small board with five folding sticks on it. Peter had asked Tony to make it when he realized that Percy putting fingers down would be difficult for as long as he had one of his arms in a cast.
"Awesome! After you get out of that chair we can play some other games - or swim!"
Percy's head shot up at that (he had previously been looking down at the board), causing Peter to smile. "Yeah, we'll totally have to do that. Tony's got this pool way down - its below the garage and no one knows about it!"
Tony walked in "Almost nobody Pete - and it's still under construction, so it'll be a bit of a wait."
"That's okay! It'll be a bit of a wait before Percy can go in anyway."
Then the boys started with the game. It was simple - each player started with one finger on each hand, and then one player will tap the other's hand, attempting to get them up to five - but not above. The last player standing wins.
Percy got a bit mixed up when they played the game - counting slightly off, or fumbling with the board he had to use, or getting distracted. But as far as Peter could tell, it was his favorite of the ones that they had found so far. The others involved reading - apparently Percy had something called dyslexia, Peter didn't really get it, but he knew that it was why Percy had trouble reading - required a bit more mobility than Percy had at the moment, or required more people to play - something that Percy tried to avoid. (Peter didn't really get that either, but he figured that part of being a good friend was respecting it.)
They had been playing for 15 minutes - Percy had won one round and Peter the other - when Steve walked in. Peter didn't know how he felt about him, on one hand it was Captain America, and he tried to be nice and helpful and Peter liked that quite a bit. But, on the other hand Tony seemed on edge whenever he was around, and he was a bit too much of a stickler to the rules.
Percy on the other hand loved him - as evidenced by the immediate relaxing of his posture and total distraction as the super soldier walked into the room. Seriously, Percy looked like an angel had walked into the room: total awe and the knowledge that you are now being kept safe. Peter didn't know why Percy looked at Steve like that (some combination of hero worship and something that Peter didn't recognise) but it didn't seem to be hurting anyone so he didn't care much either.
Except for when it interrupted the time he (Percy) was supposed to spend with Peter. Then he cared very much. Hence the angry glare currently being directed at the resident super soldier.
"Hey Peter! How are you doing?" Steve smiled in Peter's direction.
"Good, me and Percy were playing a game."
"That's awesome. Can I play?"
Peter really wanted to say no. This was time meant for just him and Percy and Steve was just intruding on that. But, the way that Percy was looking at Steve - as if he couldn't believe that he'd be willing to do and that he was absolutely thrilled at the thought - well, Peter couldn't resist. (The way Percy's eyes lit up when Steve sat next to him to play made it all worth it. )
Eventually, they all got bored with their game, and it was time for Peter to get his homework done. (He had been assured that Percy would be returning to school as soon as he could walk again, about a week from then.) As a result they stopped, Peter ran into his room, brought his work to the table and sat down to start. Steve wheeled Percy to the TV and then went to get Natasha and Clint. (Clint and Percy had an awkward relationship. While the two of them could communicate through signing - and did more often than almost anyone in the tower - Clint always looked at Percy like he had just heard that he was going to die soon, and Percy didn't like communication much. So as a result, the two of them often simply sat near each other. (Peter thought that Percy probably liked having Clint around more than indicated.)
And so, things progressed as normal, Peter kicking his feet and doing his math and Percy silently watching TV. Until a scream rung through the air.
