CHAPTER02
CHAPTER 2;
FRECKLED FREAK.
"Felix get the fuck out here!" Coach shouted menacingly, making Jeongin flinch as he stretched his legs. While coach was a bit of a hot headed asshole- he meant well and rarely genuinely got mad at the team of well-behaved students.
But it seemed coach had some sort of personal vendetta against poor Bang Felix, who had been trying to sneak into the changing rooms after being more than half an hour late to practise.
Jeongin hadn't met the boy yet, and was suddenly extremely grateful coach had called him him out before he could fully change into his swimming trunks- because goddamn.
Out walked a sheepish and bright red boy, who couldn't be that much older than himself, hands nervously fiddling infront of him. He was shirtless, beside his school trousers, but what really made Jeongin break into a blush was the dozens of small freckles across his chest and face.
Hysterically, Jeongin yanked Jisung, who almost slipped at the sudden force, as he whispered, "You never told me he had freckles!"
Jisung just gave him a funny look, pulling his arm out of the youngers iron grip.
"Care to explain why you're late? Again?" The coach continued, hands on his hips, "Notice how I said again? Perhaps I should say for the 3rd time this week?"
Felix's blush deepened, eyes searching everywhere but his teammates faces. "Uhm..."
"Felix!" Chan shouted, suddenly emerging from the pool like some sort of guardian angel mermaid, "Sorry I left you to do the chores at home! Promise I'll do it next time."
Anyone could tell that was a fake statement, but Coach had an obvious admiration towards Chan- and shitting on his brother probably wasn't a good idea. Never the less the coach gave Felix a final warning, before turning around to address the rest of the team.
"All of you pair up- Except you Jeongin-" coach shouted, "You're with newbie."
Jeongin had to physically restrain himself from rolling his eyes at the nickname the coach liked, this was swimming, not the cadets. Nevertheless, Jeongin gave a reassuring smile to Felix, who looked back at him in surprise, but lightly smiled back as well. He quickly shuffled back into the changing rooms, giving Jeongin time to calm down before he said something stupid along the lines of 'wow you're cute, what the fuck do you think you're doing with that smile?'.
Jisung and Hyunjin gave him a regretful but certainly not apologetic look, if the wiggling eyebrows was anything to go by, before they moved on to start their warm up laps.
Huffing slightly, Jeongin turned on his heel, planning to wait in the pool for his partner. However, as established before and in multiple different occasions, the universe despised Jeongin and made it itself hobby to personally destroy his life.
So, unsurprisingly, his footing became unbalanced- and all of a sudden he had slipped back and was making a one way trip to a concussion as he was definitely going to hit his head against the hard tile.
"OH FUCK JEONGIN-" Someone said, but the people around him were too slow to catch his fall, his skin practically already touching the floor at his impact.
Well, atleast it should have. Though before he could feel any pain, a sudden flash of colour flashed past him, and instead of a trip to a&e, Jeongin found himself being held up in a bridal carry by none other than Felix himself.
The pool was silent, even the coach stunned at the sight infront of him.
"How fuck did you-" Jeongin started, head swimming at the sudden change in direction, "I thought you were in the changing rooms?!"
"Uh- I came out just as I saw you fall. Lucky catch I guess?" He said bashfully, hair strands falling infront of his eyes. He looked as though he wanted to push them back, but he was still very tightly holding Jeongin, something neither of them seemed to have fully process.
It wasn't until someone (Jisung) whistled and another idiot (Hyunjin) started to wolf howl did Felix's face burst into a adorable shade of red by his cheek bones, something Jeongin certainly wouldn't mind seeing more of.
Felix simply chuckled however, his deep voice sending vibrations through his chest and quite literally- deep into Jeongins soul. His laugh was comforting in a way; almost familiar.
The Australian seemed to be lost in Jeongins gaze for a second, also thinking about something deeper, but quickly perked up at the sound of hard and wet footsteps against the tiles.
"FELIX! WHAT THE HECK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING IN MY POOL-"
