Help
A few hours later....
Meanwhile, at the Gotham City Police Department, Commissioner James Gordon was reading several police files. As he read, suddenly, there was a tapping at his window outside. He opened the window shades, only to see Spider-Man hanging upside down with his webbing. Jim raised an eyebrow and asked, "Spider-Man?" The webhead waved hello. Jim opened up the window and asked, "How long have you been hanging upside down outside my office?" Spider-Man shrugged and said, "Eh, five minutes. Mr. Commissioner, sir... Can I please come in? I need to talk with you..." Jim looked around and, since nobody was watching, he nodded. Spider-Man then went in and shut the window and shades.
"So, Spider-Man... What brings you to Gotham?" Jim asked, looking at the young Avenger. Spidey sighed, and took off his mask, revealing his face to Jim. The Commissioner gasped and asked, "Peter Parker??? You're Spider-Man???" Peter nodded and said, "Jim, I need your help..." Jim looked at him and asked, "What do you need my help for???"
"Do you remember when Barbara was shot?" Peter asked. Jim glared and asked, "How did you find that out?!?!?!" Peter raised his hands in defense, reasoning, "Hear me out Jim! Coincidentally on that day, I was infected with an alien entity that called itself the Symbiote. I was under this infection during the same period as your daughter's coma. After rejecting it, that thing had searched for other hosts for two years... And Barbara is just another one of its hosts, Jim." Gordon listened to Peter's story, stroking his mustache. "How bad is this Symbiote?" he asked. "Extremely dangerous," explained Peter, "it made me faster and stronger, but it made me dependent on that thing, like a drug addict... It made me more aggressive. I was grieving over the death of a loved one, and it fed on my grief. It used me like a puppet, and... It made me do things I'm not proud of..."
Jim took off his glasses and rubbed his eyebrows. "This is bad," he said. "Very," said Peter, "that thing feeds off a chemical that can be found in the brain known as phenythlamine. It will kill Barbara if we don't stop her. Especially since we both know whom she's after." Jim nodded and said, "Honestly I couldn't care less if the clown dies. In fact, if it had been me that'd been infected, I'd have made a rare exception to my by the book code, and thrown that book at him. Aside from that metaphor, does this Symbiote have any particular weaknesses we can use to stop it?"
"Actually yes," explained Peter, "two of its main weaknesses are fire and extremely loud sound vibrations. And phenythlamine can also be found in chocolate. The chemical keeps the Symbiote sane and healthy." Jim nodded and said, "Lucky for you, I know people who know people that can help us."
