For the next few hours, Batman and Spider-Man kept on looking for The Carnage Symbiote. As they looked around, they kept hearing word about vicious murders that were assumed to be animal attacks. The murdered victims were killers, rapists, and third rate super villains. Each death more gruesome than the last. And each murder had a message written in blood. The bloody messages had ominous threats such as, "YOU'RE NEXT, JOKER!" "YOU'RE GONNA DIE, CLOWN!" "YOU'RE DEAD MEAT, PUDDIN!" "I AM BLOODLUST!" And so on and so forth. "It would appear Carnage is now calling himself Bloodlust," said Batman. "So it would seem," said Spider-Man, "whoever is Carnage's host is on a wild killing spree. This is like something out of a horror film. And we're on a wild goose chase." 

 As they continued to drive, Spider-Man then said, "Hey Bats, can you pull over? We've been driving for hours, and I gotta pee." Batman sighed and pulled over to a gas station. He opened the door and said, "five minutes." Spider-Man then got out of the Batmobile, walking to the convenience store. The convenience store clerk looked to be an old man with a white mustache and shades. He had a name tag that said, "hi my name is Stan!" Stan looked at Spider-Man and said, "nice suit." Spider-Man looked at Stan and said, "hey, can I use your bathroom?" Stan flatly said, "only paying customers can use the bathroom. If you're gonna use the toilet, ya gotta buy something first." Spider-Man groaned and said, "can I have that chocolate donut with sprinkles?" 

Meanwhile, Batman was waiting in the Batmobile, the Symbiote tracker with him. Suddenly, the tracker kept on beeping and beeping. "Carnage is here, but where?" Batman thought. Suddenly, a low voice growled behind him, "Hello old man..." Batman was then grabbed out of the Batmobile, pushed to the ground. Batman looked at the assailant, and saw it was Bloodlust. He grinned evilly, revealing his razor sharp teeth. Batman got up and said, "You must be Bloodlust..." Bloodlust laughed, "You haven't lost your touch, Bruce." Batman's eyes narrowed as he asked, "how do you know my name?" Bloodlust looked offended as he said, "Why Bruce, it's only me..." He then revealed his true face and said, "The boy you failed to save and then replaced!!!" Batman's eyes widened in shock. It couldn't be! "Jason?" he said in disbelief. "Now you remember me," said Jason, "what's the matter Bruce? You look like you've seen a ghost!" 

"This can't be possible," said Batman, "how can you be alive? How could you commit those murders-" He was then abruptly cut off by a hard punch to the chin. "SHUT UP!" yelled Jason, "IT'S YOUR FAULT I DIED! You, Dick, or Barbara could have saved me, BUT YOU DIDN'T! You could have killed that fucking clown to avenge me, BUT YOU DIDN'T! AND THEN YOU FUCKING REPLACE ME!!!!" Batman wiped the blood from his mouth and said, "Jason, I'm sorry I didn't save you... I live with that failure everyday. You know why I can't kill Joker..." He was then slashed across the face as Jason yelled, "I DON'T CARE!!! SORRY DON'T CUT IT! YOU LET ME DIE!!! IT'S YOUR FAULT BARBARA CAN'T WALK! All because of your one damn rule... Well now I'm gonna get my revenge..." Batman scowled and said, "you know I can't allow you to do that..." Jason then had the Symbiote cover his face as his low voice growled, "yeah, and that's why I'm gonna make sure you stay out of my way!" Bloodlust then roared at Batman and attacked him. Batman tried using his batarangs and other weapons from his utility belt, but Bloodlust destroyed his utility belt to ensure he wouldn't pull any cheap shots. Bloodlust then made one of his hands shift into a sharp knife, stabbing and slashing at Batman. Bloodlust used his other hand to punch at Batman constantly, not even holding back. Because Bloodlust had spider senses like Spider-Man, he could detect each and every punch and kick that Batman was trying to pull on him.

Batman was by now a bloody mess. Bloodlust then stabbed Batman's left kneecap, causing Batman to fall on the ground. Bloodlust then grabbed his right leg and used his elbow to break Batman's leg in two places. Batman screamed in pain. Bloodlust then punched Batman in the face viciously, until Batman was barely breathing and barely conscious. "I am superior to you in every way, Bruce! I'm going to do what you're too weak to do... Stay out of my way," warned Bloodlust, "or else I'll fucking kill you." Spider-Man then came back, and was horrified to find Bloodlust, and the body of Batman that was all bloody and barely breathing...
