You, Vulture, and Cat had arrived at the university late in the night, far after the usual student tomfoolery.

You were all in casual clothes, as to not arouse suspicion, and held no equipment on your person, save for you, as your mechanical arms were crafted onto your back.

Cat: Alright, I've broken into this place a few dozen times, here's the plan...

You: A dozen?

Cat: Focus, sweetheart.

Vulture: Sweetheart?

You and Cat both blushed.

Cat: So...we can climb along a pipe up to the second floor where Connors' lab is, Vulture can do his smart guy stuff and unlock his lab, then his computer, and we leave with everything on it.

You: Seems simple enough.

Vulture: Hopefully it stays that way.

Cat: No time like the present, let's go.

You all found the pipe Cat had spoke of on the side of the building.

You: Ladies first.

Cat touched your cheek as she walked forward.

Cat: Always the gentleman.

Cat climbed up the pipe with ease, leaving you blushing.

Vulture: You dog.

You came to your senses.

You: Alright, your turn.

Vulture: Don't underestimate me due to my age, I still got it!

Vulture climbed up the pipe surprisingly quickly, with you close behind.

By the time you both got to the second floor window, you both found Cat at the door of Connors' office.

What surprised you was that the automatic door seemed to sustain heavy damage, all apparently originating from inside the office.

You: What could have done that?

Cat: No idea...

Cat noticed that the door was busted open on the side.

Cat: Here, if we all use our strength we can push the door open.

You did as Cat said, and all of you pushed the heavy door open.

You all stepped into the lab, and found that it was dark, thankfully Cat brought flashlights, which she gave to all of you.

You turned your flashlights on, and found a horrifying sight.

The lab was completely destroyed, with desks turned over and light fixtures torn from the ceiling.

Vulture: My god...

You: This place is trashed.

Cat looked down behind a turned over desk.

Cat: Something happened here, something bad...

You and Vulture looked at what Cat had found, and saw a sight that unnerved you both.

It was a trail of blood, leading to the storage closet.

Vulture: That's a lot of blood.

You: It's leading into the closet...

You cautiously opened the door...

And found a man with a large gash in his stomach, blood spilling from it.

Vulture: Dear god!

You quickly examined the wound.

You: He's lost a lot of blood, we need to bandage him up.

Cat: I'll look for a first aid kit.

Cat left to search for a first aid kit as you and Vulture did your best to treated the man's wounds.

You: Hey buddy, can you hear me?

The man coughed blood as he spoke.

Man: Connors...did...this...

The man went silent.

You: Hey! Stay with me!

Vulture checked his pulse.

Vulture: He's gone...

You: Damn...

Vulture closed the man's eyes in respect.

Just then, Cat let out a scream.

You and Vulture rushed to see what happened...

And saw a large creature slowly approaching Cat.

Curt Connors, A.K.A The Lizard

The lizard like creature approached a Cat with bloodlust in it's eyes.

You: Get away from her!

The Lizard looked at you and roared, it's attention now on you.

You shouted at Vulture.

Vulture: Get Cat out of here! I'll hold it off!

Your arms tore through the back of your jacket as you prepared to face Lizard.

Vulture grabbed Cat and ran out of the lab.

Lizard lunged at you, where you held off it's advance with your arms.

Lizard but and swung at your arms wildly, causing you to stumble, allowing Lizard to tackle you to the wall.

You used your lower arms to lift yourself and Lizard up to the ceiling, slamming it into the ceiling.

You both fell back down to the floor, and saw a glowing green vial on the Lizard's belt.

You: Worth a shot.

You grabbed the vial with one of your arms, but Lizard quickly grabbed it and pulled you into a bear hug.

The Lizard has it's maw open, ready to bite down on you, but you used one of your arms to hold his jaws back.

You took the serum from your arm, and quickly injected it into Lizard, causing it to stumble back and roar angrily.

Lizard then began to thrash around wildly, and suddenly began to shift into a more human form.

Lizard's tail and arm both disappeared, and it fell to the ground unconscious, now seemingly a human man.

You regained yourself, and examined the man...

And found that it was Curt Connors.

You: So Connors...was the Lizard...

You then heard a ringing coming from a nearby computer, with the name 'Connors' on the screen.

You: Maybe I can find some answers on that computer.

You inspected the computer, and found that the ringing was due to a incoming call...

You: It would be rude if I didn't answer.

You answered the call, and found Osborn's face on the screen.

Mayor Norman Osborn

Osborn: Doctor, I trust our research is going-

Osborn stopped when he saw you.

Osborn: Well...

You: Mayor Osborne, so glad we can finally meet.

Osborn: Malcolm.

You: Yes! That's my name! Someone finally got it right!

Osborn: Back to the point, I'm going to assume you incapacitated Dr. Connors.

You: Well, it was either that or get eaten by a lizard so...

Osborn: So the formula isn't complete...

You: Humor me, what are you up to? I know that you've been funneling money to Connors, but why?

Osborn: I suppose it wouldn't hurt to tell you, after all, you and the rest of your little gang will be a faded memory by the end of the month. You see Malcolm, I have dedicated myself to the safety of the people of New York, and with Spider-Man gone, the city needs a new defense.

You: So what? You're making a lizard army?

Osborn: No, I recruited Connors to create a super soldier serum from the base of his lizard formula. He was reluctant at first, but every man has his weakness.

You: You threatened him.

Osborn: I threatened his family, it was an evil thing to do, I know. But it was necessary.

You: So you're wanting to build a super soldier army to safe guard New York, and are using an unstable lizard formula to do it. Doesn't sound safe.

Osborn: It isn't, but I don't have time for safety measures.

You: Whatever, it's not like this lizard army is going to stop us anyway.

Osborn: Actually Malcolm, I believe it will.

Osborn closed the call.

You took a file from Connors' lab, and him as well, and left the lab, meeting Cat and Vulture outside in an alley.

Vulture: Is that Connors?

You: Yeah, long story. I'll tell you back at the garage.

Cat: Bad idea, the alarm was tripped in your fight with that lizard, the cops will be looking for us. It will be better to split up.

You: Good idea. Vulture, can you take Connors to the garage?

Vulture: Absolutely.

Vulture threw Connors over his shoulder and left.

You: Do you know a place we can lay low?

Cat: Yeah, my apartment.

You were taken aback.

You: Your...apartment?

Cat: Yeah, what? Don't wanna come over?

You: No...just never been over to a friend's house.

Cat: Well, there's a first time for everything. Let's go.

You left with Cat to her apartment.
