Ave Maria

You and the others had managed to sneak into the Gallery unnoticed, pacify the guards, and disable all security measures.

In fine pressed suits no less.

You were disabling the last of the security cameras when Vulture approached you with the building schematics.

Vulture: So, the only two ways to enter the building are through the storage bay and the main entrance. Mysterio has set traps along the storage bay that will deter Hammerhead himself from going through there, and hold off any goons he sends that way.

You: Where do you think we should hide for him?

Vulture: Not to soul day like Mysterio, but a bit of theatrics might be in order. I suggest you wait by the painting and lure Hammerhead further in while the rest of hide along the bottom floor.

You: Sounds good.

Mysterio joined the conversation.

Mysterio: The storage bay is set with my finest illusions, we should not see reinforcements through that way.

Cat also joined in.

Cat: And the rest of the crew is waiting close by for our escape.

Vulture: So all seems well. Tell me Mysterio, you did advertise our theft, yes?

Mysterio: Of course! A mix of informants, information leaks, and the always useful social media ensured Hammerhead knew of our plight!

Cat leaned in to you.

Cat: Is he always like this.

You: Yep.

You all heard the sounds of multiple cars swerve to a halt outside.

Cat: They're here.

Mysterio: Places everyone!

You took your spot next to the painting as the others hid in individual spots.

You heard the front doors break open, and saw Hammerhead with a small squad of men enter.

Hammerhead steeped forward from his men, a cocky smile on his face.

Hammerhead: Y'know, back in the old days, thieves knew how not to get caught.

You: Old days are dead and gone.

Hammerhead: Yeah, guess they are. Times have changed, men have gotten soft, people don't fear us like they used to. I say it's about time we change that.

You: So you don't plan on stopping with me and my crew.

Hammerhead: Hehe. No, your just the beginning.

You: On a side note, why was that bank so important? Seems kinda small time for someone of your caliber.

Hammerhead: It is, but that bank was where I kept a small bit of my money. Money you took.

You: If I knew it was yours I would have never touched it.

Hammerhead: Too late for that.

You: Yeah, guess it is.

Hammerhead came closer to you, his face so close to yours that you could feel the warmth of his breath.

Hammerhead: Look, you said you was sorry, and I appreciate that. So I'll give you a choice: you can either take a bullet to the head, nice and quick, save your friends from the same thing...or I can have you all buried in cement.

You went silent for a moment.

You: Well...I think I'll go with neither.

Just then, the others jumped Hammerhead's men as you hit Hammerhead with one of your arms, sending him back.

Hammerhead: Knew it was a trap.

You: And you fell for it like a sucker.

Hammerhead stood up as your crew and Hammerhead's men battled around you.

Hammerhead: One thing I'm not...IS A SUCKER!!!

Hammerhead charged you headfirst, striking you and sending you threw a wall, into the statue hall.

You pushed yourself up with the arms, and struck Hammerhead in the face multiple times with them. The hard metal clang with each strike signaling their ineffectiveness.

Hammerhead grabbed you by the throat and choked you, but you tripped him up with one of your arms, sending you both to the floor.

You kicked yourself away from Hammerhead, picked yourself up, and pulled a statue on top of him, which he broke through with a hard headbutt.

Hammerhead struck you in the face, and lifted you above him, where he threw you against another statue.

You hastily picked yourself up, and saw a fuse box on the wall, giving you an idea.

Hammerhead charged you headfirst again, but you used your arms to dodge him, sending him into the fuse box, and electrocuting him.

Electricity surged through Hammerhead's body, and after a moment, he pulled himself from the fuse box and he fell to the ground, unconscious.

You panted heavily, relieved that the battle was over, and went back into the art gallery to see the others rounding up Hammerhead's unconscious men.

Vulture: That's the last of them.

Mysterio: Victory is ours!

Cat: Yeah, looks like.

You stepped in with the group.

You: That went well.

Vulture: It did, surprisingly.

You heard police sirens in the distance.

You: We gotta go, Cat let's...

You looked back to see Cat and the Ave Maria gone, a note on the empty display reading "Call Me" followed by her phone number.

You took the note.

You: Huh, sly little cat.

Vulture: Let's go Malcolm!

You followed the others out the back and into the night.
