Chapter 4: The Weather Wizard
(The next day)
Y/N's P.O.V
Right now dad isn't home, so I'm going down to his base.
I head over to the shed and unlock it before going inside.
I take the platform down to the Spider Nest.
Y/N: Okay. Time to find some bad guys.
I go over to the monitors and see the web shooters dad gave me.
I put them on before using the computers to find some crime.
Just then I get a ping.
Y/N: Ah, some bank robber's on 41st Street. Looks like a silent alarm has gone off. Time to go to work.
I leave the Spider Nest.
(Ten minutes later)
I'm now swinging to 41st Street.
I land on a streetlight wearing a homemade suit.
Y/N: Okay, where are these guys?
I look around to see one guy leave the bank and run down a nearby alleyway.
Y/N: It's just one guy. I gotta stop him.
I web swing over to catch up to him.
A moment later I catch up to him and land down infront of the guy.
I see that it's Mark Mardon a.k.a Weather Wizard.
Y/N: Hey, Weather Wizard. I thought you were in jail.
Weather Wizard: You must be Spider-Man's new sidekick I've heard about.
Y/N: Well, I didn't know I was known.
Weather Wizard: And who are you?
Y/N: I'm... well, I don't know yet. Do you have an suggestions?
Weather Wizard: How about, "The Kid with an Ice Pic in his chest?"
Y/N: Hmm. That doesn't really roll off the tongue.
He fires multiple ice pics at me, but I jump into the air to dodge them.
Y/N: Too slow.
I land behind him and kick him in the back.
He turns and fires a fire ball at me, but I drop back to avoid it.
Weather Wizard: Walk away, kid. I don't wanna hurt you.
Y/N: If you say so.
I web zip towards him and we fly back through a fence.
We land in the street and Wizard hits a car.
I get up.
Y/N: Well, I didn't mean to do that.
Wizard gets up too.
Weather Wizard: You're done, kid.
Y/N: Nah. You're done.
I jump into the air and come down, hitting him with a left hook to knock him out.
After that I use webs to tie him up.
Y/N: Hmm. How about Ass-Kicker?
I shake my head.
Y/N: No, no. That's really childish.
???: You look ridiculous.
I look up to see dad crouched on a streetlight.
Y/N: Well, you didn't make me a real suit. So, I had to improvise.
Ben: Alright, come on. Let's go talk.
He web zips away and I follow him.
Dad and I come down on a nearby rooftop.
We take off our masks.
Ben: I think you may have skipped a couple of steps, son.
Y/N: It seems to work out for me.
Ben: You don't know it yet, but you did more damage than you needed to.
Y/N: Hit me.
Ben: What?
Y/N: Hit me. I can take it. I'm strong.
Ben: I know you are.
Y/N: No, you don't! I wasn't ready before, but I am now. Hit me. I want you to see how strong I am.
Ben: I know you're strong, Y/N.
Y/N: You don't, dad! I know you don't think I'm ready, but I am. I want this. I've wanted this for as long as I can remember.
I sigh.
Y/N: I wanna do this. I wanna be just like you.
He comes over and pulls me into a hug.
Ben: You will, son. You will.
We pull away.
Ben: Come on, let's go home. I've got something I wanna show you.
We put our masks on and web swing away.
(Fifteen minutes later)
Dad and I are back in the Spider Nest.
Y/N: Dad, why are we down here?
Ben: I have something for you.
He grabs a case and puts it on a table as I walk over.
Ben: I made this for you awhile ago, just in case your powers came in. I've made some alterations so it'll fit you. Try it on.
Y/N: Okay.
I grab the case and leave to go change.
After a few minutes I've changed it a new suit dad made for me.
I look in the mirror to see how it looks.
Y/N: Wow.
Ben: How's it fit, Y/N?
Y/N: Really good.
I walk out and take off my mask.
Y/N: What do you think?
Ben: It looks great. You look like a hero. You look like Spider-Man.
Y/N: I'm... I'm Spider-Man?
He nods.
Ben: You are. I mean there's no rule saying there can be only one Spider-Man, is there?
Y/N: I guess not.
Just then an alert comes through.
Ben: Looks like there's a new problem.
He looks to me.
Ben: You ready for this, Spider-Man?
Y/N: Definitely, Spider-Man.
Dad and I put our masks on before leaving.
(Several hours later)
Third person perspective
After fighting some crime with his son, Ben is at home spending time with his wife.
He walks over and sits on the couch with her.
Lauren: So, how'd Y/N do out there?
Ben: He did really good. It seems that first training session helped him, in a way.
Lauren: I guess so.
Just then Ben gets a message.
Lauren: Who is it?
Ben: It's Logan. He said wants to meet me in Upstate. Says it's important.
Lauren: Do you wanna take Y/N? If it's a mission you two may need the help.
Ben: Don't worry, we'll handle it.
Lauren: Alright. Be careful.
Ben: Will do.
The two kiss before Ben gets up to change into his suit.
