Chapter 66: Catching Up
Y/N's P.O.V
After escaping Taskmaster in Budapest, myself, Natasha and Yelena head to a small town outside of Budapest.
We need somewhere to lay low.
The three of us walk into a small store with a gas station to get supplies for Yelana.
The three of us walk into the store, and look around.
Y/N: If the Red Room is still active, then where is it?
Yelena: I have no idea. He moves location constantly, and every Widow is sedated on entry and exit for maximum security.
Natasha: I just find it hard to believe it could stay off my radar.
Yelena: Well, it's not smart to attack an Avenger if you want to stay hidden. I mean the clue is in the name. Dreykov kills you, and one of the big ones comes to avenge you.
Natasha: Who are the big ones?
Yelena: Well, I doubt the god from space or the spider that can run up walls have to take an ibuprofen after a fight.
I smirk.
Y/N: She's right, I don't.
Yelena: Where did you think I was all this time?
Natasha goes over to a mirror and sink to wash her face.
Natasha: I thought you had gotten out, and was living a normal life.
Yelena: And you just never made contact?
Natasha: I didn't think you wanted to see me.
Yelena: That's bullshit. You just didn't want me tagging along whilst you and our baby brother saved the world with the cool kids.
Natasha: You aren't really my sister.
Y/N: Damn.
Yelena: And the Avengers aren't your real family.
Yelena then goes over to the counter.
Yelena: Why do you always do that thing?
Natasha: Do what?
Yelena: That thing you do when you're fighting?
Yelena bends down and copy's Natasha's signature fighting pose she does in a fight, and explains what she means at the same time.
Yelena: The... like, the... This thing that you do when you whip your hair when you're fighting with the arm and the hair. And you do like a fighting pose. (Laughs) It's a fighting pose, you're a totally poser.
I start laughing.
Natasha: I'm not a poser.
She looks at me.
Y/N: You are little bit of a poser.
Yelena: They're great poses, it just looks like you think people are watching you all the time.
Natasha: Well all that time I spent posing I was actually trying to do something good, to make up for all the pain and suffering we caused. To show I was more than just a trained killer.
Yelena: Then you're fooling yourself, because pain and suffering is everyday, and we're both still trained killers. Except I'm not the one on the cover of a magazine, and I'm not the killer that little girls call their hero.
Yelena walks out.
Y/N: Well, nothing like a loving family reunion.
Natasha: Come on.
I nod and we both leave as well.
(Three hours later)
Natasha's P.O.V
I'm now at a bar with Y/N and Yelena. Y/N is currently using a phone box nearby to talk with Kate.
This gives Yelena and I time to catch up.
I walk back to our table to see Yelena patching up her arm.
Yelena then tells me that the gas was made by a widow from Melina's generation.
She also says that the gas freed her from the Red Room's control, but that she killed the widow that freed her.
As she continues to tell me more about the gas I go over to help her with her arm.
Natasha: Is that all there is left?
Yelena: Yep. It's the only thing that can stop Dreykov and his network of widows. He takes more every day, children who don't have anyone to protect them. Just like us when we were small. Hell, I get the feeling if you hadn't got Y/N away from the Red Room, Dreykov would have him now.
Natasha: I know, but it'd have to be over my dead body. He'd have to kill me before I'd ever let him take Y/N and make him his personal killing machine.
Yelena: Dreykov would've probably make him the next Taskmaster, or something worse.
After wrapping up her arm I sit back down infront of her.
Yelena: I couldn't help but notice some tense between you and Y/N. What happened?
Natasha: It's a long story.
Yelena: Well, make it short then.
I sigh.
Natasha: Y/N's birth parents were killed by the Winter Soldier. And I knew about....
Yelena: And you didn't tell him, but he found out in a much worse way.
I nod.
Natasha: Pretty much.
Yelena: That's a bit of a dick move, Nat.
Natasha: I know. Thank you, Yelena.
I sigh.
Natasha: So, where are you gonna go?
Yelena: I don't know. I don't have anywhere to go or to go back to, so I guess anywhere.
I lean forward.
Yelena: Don't.
Natasha: Don't what?
Yelena: You're gonna give me some big hero speech, I can feel it.
I chuckle.
Natasha: Speeches are more Y/N's thing than mine.
Yelena: Huh.
Natasha: It was more like an invitation.
Yelena: To go to the Red Room with you and Y/N to kill Dreykov?
Natasha: Yeah.
Yelena: Even though the Red Room is impossible to find, and Dreykov is too slippery to kill?
Natasha: Yeah.
Yelena: That sounds like a shitload of work.
Natasha: Yep. It could be fun though.
Yelena: Yep.
Natasha: I saw where he put the keys.
Yelena: Top drawer, green cabinet.
We see Y/N come back over, he picks up his drink and looks at us.
Y/N: Hey guys, what's going on?
Yelena: The three of us are going to find the Red Room and take it down.
Natasha: You in?
He smiles.
Y/N: Yeah, I'm in.
The three of us tap our glasses together.
(One hour later)
So mum, Yelena and I are currently driving down a highway in a stole car.
I lean forward from the backseat to see Yelena looking down at her vest.
Yelena: Did you know this is the first piece of clothing I've ever bought for myself?
Natasha: That?
Y/N: You mean the vest?
Yelena: Yeah, what? Don't either of you like it?
Y/N: What is it? An army surplus?
Yelena: Okay, it has alot of pockets.
Natasha chuckles.
Yelena: But I use them all the time, and I made some of my own modifications.
She scoffs.
Natasha: Oh yeah?
Yelena: Whatever.
I laugh at her annoyance.
Yelena: Both of you shut up. The point is, I've never... I've never had control over my own life before, and now I do. I want to start doing things.
Natasha: Mmm.
Y/N: Okay, I like your vest.
Natasha: I do too.
Yelena: Ah, I knew it. I knew you did. It's so cool right?
Y/N: Yeah, it is.
Natasha: It's good, I like it.
Yelena: And you can fit so much stuff in here, you wouldn't even know.
After a moment of silence Yelena speaks again.
Yelena: But I really don't know where the Red Room is, I'm sorry.
Natasha: I know, it's okay. But I think I know somebody who does.
Y/N: Who?
Natasha: Our adopted father.
Y/N: I thought he was in a Russian prison.
Natasha: He is. We have to get him out.
Y/N: Oh, great.
Yelena: So, how are we gonna get to him?
Natasha: We're gonna need a jet.
Y/N: Well, I know where we can get one. And I know someone who can help me get it. But...
Yelena: But what?
Y/N: We need to go back into Budapest.
(The next day)
(Budapest, Hungary)
Third person perspective
The anti-hero known as Leonard Snart walks down an alleyway.
He comes into the courtyard of a housing development.
Snart hears someone behind him and quickly turns to see Y/N there in his Spider-Man suit.
Leonard: Hello, Spider-Man.
L/N puts his hands up.
Y/N: I need your help.
