Y/N's P.O.V

Just then I hear a knock at the door and sit up.

Vanessa: Y/N, you in there?

I gasp as she can't see me in my suit.

Before she comes in I put my jacket on and zip it up.

I look at her.

Y/N: Mum!

Vanessa: Hey, sweetie. I didn't hear you come in.

I rush over and hug.

Y/N: Oh thank god, you're okay.

Vanessa: Oh, wow. You haven't hugged me like this since you were eight.

Y/N: I can let go if you want.

Vanessa: No, this is nice.

Y/N: You were right, mum. You were right about everything.

Vanessa: Of course I was. I always am. What was I right about?

I pull away.

Y/N: No-one's been here, have they? You know like a douchebag with serious anger management issues?

Vanessa: Uh, no. Not last I checked.

Y/N: Good.

I lock the window and pull down the blinds.

Y/N: Mum, people are coming for us. Someone bad is coming for our family. His name is Spot. He's my nemesis. I have to protect you. I have to protect our family.

Vanessa: Baby, what's going on? You're scaring me.

Y/N: I know you know there's something I've not been telling you. And I didn't tell you because I was worried that if I did you wouldn't love me the same. Then I went out there and now... I'm not afraid of anything.

Vanessa: What do you wanna tell me?

Y/N: You gotta promise nothing's gonna change.

Vanessa: Y/N, I will always love you.

Y/N: You gotta promise, mum. Please.

Vanessa: Always. I don't care what you say. I'll always love you, baby.

I sigh and step away.

Y/N: Mum... I'm... I'm Spider-Man.

I unzip my jacket to show her my torn-up suit underneath.

She tilts her head.

Vanessa: You're what? Who's Spider-Man?

Y/N: The superhero. He got bit by a spider? It gave him spider powers? He's me.

Vanessa: Oh, I get it. This is one of those comic book characters you love reading about, right? You made that for Comic-Con, right?

Y/N: What? No, mum. I...

Vanessa: You had me for a second there. Okay, Spider-Man. Why don't you have eight arms? Do you shoot webs out of your butt?

Y/N: Well, I had a nightmare about that once.

Vanessa: Are you sure you woke up?

Y/N: No. Mum, I'm serious.

We walk out of the room.

Vanessa: I know, I believe you, baby. You need to change. Your uncle will be here any minute. And I've gotta pick up your brother.

Y/N: Mum, uncle Shane isn't here. He's...

My spider sense starts going haywire.

Wait. If Shane is alive, that means...

I'm in the wrong dimension.

When I Margo was trying to shut the Go Home Machine down, she must changed my destination.

Just then I hear the door open and see Shane come in.

Y/N: Oh my god. Unce Shane.

He comes over to me and raises his hand.

Shane: Hey, buddy. You good?

I clapse hands with him.

Y/N: Yeah.

I pull him into a hug.

Y/N: I missed you so much, uncle Shane.

He chuckles.

Shane: Oh, okay. Thanks, pal.

We pull away.

Shane: You get a haircut? It looks shorter.

Y/N: Uh, yeah. I did.

He goes to talk to mum for a minute before coming back over.

Vanessa: I'll see you both later. I'm going to pick-up Ollie. Y/N, be good for your uncle.

Shane: He always is. Come on, son.

I leave with him.

I follow him up to the roof.

Shane: You remember the plan, right?

Y/N: Uh, yeah. Let's just go over it again. Just so we're both clear on it.

I look out into the city and see how bad it is.

This is a world that doesn't have a Spider-Man to protect it.

This must've been Barry's World, the one he never got to come back to.

Y/N: There's no Spider-Man here.

I look up at the wall and see a memoriam for dad.

He's dead on this Earth.

Just then my spider sense goes off.

Before I can react everything goes black.

Third person perspective

On Y/N's Earth, Gwen crawls through Y/N's bedroom window and sees he's not here.

Her spider sense starts going haywire.

Gwen and Y/N's bounce off each other across dimensions now.

Gwen: (Whispers) He's in the wrong dimension.

She gently drops down from the ceiling and sees Y/N's red hoodie on his bed.

Gwen puts it on and she can't help but smile. It smells like him.

Just then she hears the front door open.

Outside the room James walks in.

James: Hey, babe. I'm back.

Vanessa: Did you find him?

James: No, nothing. I'm sorry. I'm sure he's okay though. He always comes back home.

Vanessa: Yeah, I know. It's just I told him to go after Gwen. I just hope she hasn't gotten him into trouble.

James: Well, he's not the first teenage boy to chase after a girl he likes. Shane and I used to do the same thing when we were his age.

She laughs.

Vanessa: Oh, I know. But it's more than that, James. I mean you saw how he lit up around her.

James: I did. I've never seen him light up like that.

Vanessa: Our little boy's in love.

He smiles.

James: Yeah, he is. I can't help but feel like this is my fault. Maybe if I was there for him more he wouldn't do stuff like this. I'm a terrible father.

Vanessa: No, you're not, baby. You're an amazing dad. Both Y/N and Ollie know that, so do I.

Gwen steps out.

Gwen: It's not your fault, Mr. L/N.

The two see her.

Gwen: It's mine.

Vanessa: Gwen?

James: What are you doing here? And where's Y/N?

Gwen: Well, his window was open and I came in through there. I thought he came back here.

Vanessa: Gwen, what happened? Where's Y/N? Why are you wearing his hoodie?

She sighs.

Gwen: I don't know.

Vanessa: What do you mean you don't know?!

Gwen: I'm gonna leave.

She goes to the front door.

Vanessa: Where do you think you're going, young lady?

Gwen: I'm gonna find him. I'm gonna bring him back, I promise.

She turns to them.

Gwen: One thing I learned from Y/N. Anything is possible. His will is stronger than anyone I've ever met. He loves you and Oliver more than you could possibly know. I've seen it. I will bring him back home.

James: How do we know we can trust you to find him?

Gwen: Because I love him too. More than I ever thought possible.

Vanessa: Gwen... just bring him home safe. When you find him tell him he's grounded for the rest of his life. And tell him we love him.

She nods.

Gwen: You got it.

Gwen leaves and goes up to the roof.

She pulls down Y/N's hood and puts her mask on.

After that she opens a portal to Peter's Earth.

She's gonna need to build her own team.
