(Earth-1042)

(Queens, New York. January, 2017)

Third person perspective

Gwen comes flying out of the portal and she's back on Earth-1042. Her Earth.

Spider-Woman lands on a rooftop and feels the rain hit her face as she takes off her mask.

She quickly gets up and tries to use her watch to get back, but it's broken.

Gwen: Damn it!!

She rips a transformer out of the rooftop and throws it.

After that Gwen heads back to her home.

(Ten minutes later)

Spider-Woman makes it home and crawls through her bedroom window.

Gwen looks through her bedside table and can't find the picture of her and Y/N.

She looks out her bedroom door to see her dad passed out on the couch and the picture nearby.

After that she takes the picture and decides to leave.

She sits on the edge of the window and her spider sense goes off.

Gwen quickly turns and shoot webs. This sticks a toy penguin to the wall. She sees her dad standing there.

George: You wanna go easy on the penguin.

She goes to leave.

George: Just... please look at me.

Gwen turns to her father.

George: What... what is that?

Gwen: I'm looking at you. Like you asked.

She takes off her mask.

Gwen: You look good.

George: Where you been?

Gwen: Just been out murdering all my friends.

George: Oh, that's funny, yeah. Yeah, okay.

Captain Stacy goes to leave and Gwen follows him.

Gwen: Where are you going?

George: I don't know.

He sighs.

Gwen: You're a great cop, dad. You know, you put on that badge because you know if you don't, someone who shouldn't will. But you have to understand, this mask is my badge. And I'm trying to be good too.

She steps forward.

Gwen: I was trying so hard to wear this thing the way you would want.

She throws her mask down.

Gwen: And I didn't. I didn't. I can do all this things, but I can't help the people I love to most. I'm now at the point where the man I love hates me and I can't help him. He's all alone and I can't help him! I don't even know what the right thing is anymore. I don't know what I'm supposed to do, but I know... I can't lose anyone else.

George: Gwen, I always taught you to do it by the book.

Gwen: Yeah and how did that work out?

George: I took an oath.

She raises her hands.

Gwen: Then arrest me, dad.

George: I can't.

Gwen: Why not?

George: Because I quit.

Gwen: When?

George: A couple of days after you left.

Gwen: So, you're not gonna be Captain. Wait, that means...

Her eyes widen as she realises something.

Miguel was wrong.

Her dad quit months ago and broke the Canon.

And her universe is still intact.

George: My job, being Captain, this whole thing doesn't matter anymore. You're the best thing I've ever done.

Gwen uses her web line to her dad into a hug.

George: That was a good speech.

Gwen: Thanks.

George: No wonder you got an A in English.

Gwen: Actually, I got a B+. I missed a few classes.

George: So, I'm guessing the man you love is the guy in this picture.

The two look at the picture of her and Y/N in her hand.

She smiles.

Gwen: Yeah. His name is Y/N. He's like me.

George: I figured. You wanna help him, don't you?

Gwen: I do, but I made a mistake. He hates me, dad. I lied to him about some big things. I really hurt him. I'm pretty sure I broke his heart.

George: Well, you remember what your mum used to say. It's only a mistake...

Gwen: If you don't try to fix it.

George: That's my girl. Now, I don't know what you gotta do exactly, but I think this'll help.

Her dad hands her a small box.

George: A friend of yours dropped it off. The guy seemed like a real piece of work.

She opens and finds a watch inside. A watch built by Hobie.

Gwen: Yeah, this'll help.

She puts it on and opens a portal to Earth-1016.

Gwen grabs her mask.

Gwen: I'll be home soon, dad.

He nods.

Gwen goes through the portal.

(Queens, New York. January, 2017)

Y/N's P.O.V

I come flying out of a portal and slide across a rooftop. I then hit a wall.

Y/N: Ah, damn it.

I sit up against and pull off my mask. I immediately feel the rain hit my face.

I sigh.

Y/N: I'm back. I gotta get home.

I get up and put my mask on.

After that I run across the rooftop and web zip into the air.

(A/N: Just imagine it's Y/N in the FFH suit.)

I gotta get home and protect my family.

(Ten minutes later)

I swing through the city as fast as I can.

All I can hear are voices in my head.

Miguel: You're a mistake! If you hadn't been bit, your Peter Parker would've lived. And none of this would've happened!

I run across rooftops.

Porker: Y/N, the hardest thing about this job is you can't always save everybody.

I swing through the air and the rain hits my body.

Spot: I'll make you pay for everything you took away from me.

Miguel: You have a choice between saving one person and saving an entire world. Every world.

Y/N: I can do both! Spider-Man always...

Peter: Not always.

Vanessa: Whatever you're gonna do out there, don't get lost.

Peter: Bad things are gonna happen.

Gwen: I... I didn't know how to tell you.

I web zip forward.

Miguel: You're not supposed to be Spider-Man!

As I fall through the air I hear uncle Sam's voice.

Shane: Keep going.

I gotta keep going. For uncle Shane. For my family, they're counting on me.

I swing between the cars.

Just then my spider sense goes off and I get hit by the side of a bus.

I hit a car, but quickly web zip away.

A moment later, I land on the rooftop across from home and web zip over to my bedroom window.

I open it and crawl inside. I hit the floor and take off my mask.

Y/N: I made it. I'm home.

I just have to protect my parents and Ollie from Spot and O'Hera.

Neither one of them is getting anywhere near my family.

I'll die before I ever let that happen.
