Third person perspective

Y/N and Gwen are back at his father's celebration party.

The two are hanging out on their own under the water container.

As the two talk and laugh, Y/N's parents watch them from afar.

Vanessa: You think she's old enough to vote?

James: Doubt it.

Vanessa: Why do I get the feeling I won't like her?

James: Ah, is someone afraid she's losing her little boy to a new girl.

She slaps him.

Vanessa: Shut up.

Y/N's P.O.V

So, I'm looking at the high-tech watch Gwen is using.

Y/N: So, this watch let's you jump between dimensions?

Gwen: Yep.

Y/N: Wow. I've never seen tech like this before. So, what's it gonna take for Miguel O'Hara to notice Y/N L/N?

She giggles.

Gwen: I'll... I'll put in a good word.

Y/N: I'm just saying, if I had a watch, I could come with you and watch your back.

Gwen: Y/N, look...

Y/N: I mean I did save the multiverse and I'm an Avenger.

Gwen: It's small elite strike force.

Y/N: I saved the world and I have electric powers. Think about it.

Gwen: There aren't alot of slots.

Y/N: Right. I guess I just have to wait until I'm good enough, huh?

Gwen: Hey, you know I didn't mean it like that. If it was up to me, you...

Y/N: Yeah, whatever. It's fine.

I press a button and it flips open.

Gwen: No! Don't do that, Y/N!

Y/N: Okay, okay. Jeez.

Gwen: It's really delicate.

She sighs.

Gwen: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap like that.

Y/N: It's okay. I'm sorry.

I look at her and start to lean in closer.

Just then I hear a groan.

I look over and see Oliver pulling himself up.

Oliver: Hi, Y/N.

I sigh.

Y/N: Ollie.

I go over and help him up.

Y/N: What are you doing? You know you can't climb up here on your own.

Oliver: I know, but I was bored down there.

I chuckle.

Y/N: Okay.

I look back to Gwen.

Y/N: Gwen, this is my brother, Oliver. Ollie, this is my friend, Gwen.

Ollie smiles.

Oliver: Hi.

She smiles.

Gwen: Hi, Oliver. It's nice to meet you.

Oliver: You too.

Just then my mum pops in.

Vanessa: Hello!

We all back up.

Y/N: Oh, crap.

Vanessa: I'm Y/N's mum, Vanessa.

I stand with Gwen.

Gwen: Hi, Mrs. L/N. Y/N's told me alot about you.

Vanessa: And he's not told me anything about you.

She pulls out Gwen's sweater.

Vanessa: This is nice. We found it in Y/N's room. You must've been in there with him.

She hands it to Gwen.

After that dad comes up too.

Gwen: And you must be Captain L/N.

James: That's right. Just call me James. I'm not in uniform right now.

He shakes hands with her.

Y/N: So, Gwen and I are just hanging out.

Gwen: That's right. We're just catching up.

Vanessa: That's nice. Don't take him from me.

Y/N: Mum!

Vanessa: I'm joking. Don't break his heart.

Y/N: Mum, stop!

Just then her watch goes off.

Gwen: Oh, shoot. I have to go.

Y/N: Really? Now?

She leans in.

Gwen: (Whispers) Spider Society. I need to go. I'm sorry.

Y/N: Oh, okay.

She looks at my parents.

Gwen: I'm sorry, I wish I could stay longer.

She hugs me before climbing under the beam and leaving.

I turn to mum, dad and Oliver.

Y/N: Dad, Ollie, thanks for not embarrassing me. Mum, thank you for embarrassing me. I really appreciate it.

I go over and lean over the ledge.

Dad and Ollie leave, but I know mum is still behind me.

Y/N: I can hear you being quiet, mum.

Vanessa: I'm sorry, baby. I hope I didn't ice your game, man.

Y/N: Mum, no-one my age says those words in that order.

Mum comes over to me.

Vanessa: It's just hard to see my baby boy not being that anymore.

Y/N: Yeah, I know.

Vanessa: Gwen seems lovely.

Y/N: Yeah, she is.

There's a moment of silence between us.

Vanessa: Go.

I look at her.

Y/N: Seriously?

Vanessa: Yes, go. Go get her.

She and I stand face-to-face.

Vanessa: Let me just fix you up.

She sighs.

Vanessa: For years I've been taking care of this little boy. Making sure he's loved, that he feels like he belongs wherever he wants to be. He wants to go out into the world and do great things. What I worry about the most... is that they won't be look out for you like us. They won't root for you like us.

She sighs and puts her hands on my cheeks.

Vanessa: So, here's the deal. Wherever you go from here, you have to promise to take care of that little boy for me. Make sure you never forget where you come from. Never doubt that you're loved, Y/N. Never let anyone tell you that you don't belong. Never let anyone tell you who you are or who you're meant to be. You better come home, baby. Otherwise you're gonna have an anger mother looking for you.

I chuckle.

Y/N: Okay, mum. I promise.

Vanessa: Good. Just don't get lost.

Y/N: I love you, mum.

Vanessa: I love you too.

After that I go to change into my suit and catch up to Gwen.

(Fifteen minutes later)

I catch up to Gwen and she's in a building scanning it.

I take off my mask and hide in the shadows.

She the hologram shows that she's tracking Spot. Why didn't she tell me?

Just then a woman appears as a hologram.

???: Gwen, hi. What's going on?

Gwen: Nothing, Jess. It's all good.

The two continue to talk and apparently Spot is bouncing aroind the multiverse.

Jess: You went to go and see your little boyfriend, didn't you?

Gwen: He's not my boyfriend, Jess. And no, I didn't. I...

She sighs.

Jess: Are you kidding me right now?

Gwen: Only briefly. From afar.

Jess: How far?

Gwen uses her hands to show her.

Lyla: Oh, that's too close.

Jess: Girl.

Gwen: I... I just needed to know that he was okay.

Jess: I honestly can't with you. Look, I get it, he's cute.

Lyla: And a pretty boy. Don't forget that.

Jess: And a pretty boy, but you know he can't be apart of this.

Gwen: I know. I'll never see him again, alright?

Jess: No kidding.

After that I learn that Spot is going to Earth-50101.

Spot is making himself more powerful, so he can beat me.

Jess and the A.I, Lyla leave and Gwen opens a portal.

She looks out into the distance not knowing I'm there with her.

I can see her tearing up.

Gwen: Bye, Y/N.

She then goes through the portal.

I drop down from the corner.

Spot is my mess to clean up.

It doesn't matter whether the Spider Society accepts me or not, it's my responsibility to stop him.

I look out into the distance.

Y/N: I'll be back soon, mum.

I put on my mask and jump through the portal.

I'm coming for you, Spot.
