Chapter 15: Visiting Uncle Shane

Y/N's P.O.V

After a crappy day of school, I'm now at home.

My teacher gave me an assignment. She knows about what happened with Peter.

She wants me to write an essay in order to help process everything.

Just then I get a call from Harry.

Y/N: Hey, Harry.

Harry: Hey, bro. How you doing? I hear you got given an assignment.

Y/N: Yeah, I did. My teacher wants me to write an essay. She thinks it'll help me process the grief of Pete's death.

Harry: Do you think it'll help?

I sigh.

Y/N: Honestly, I don't know. I don't know what will help me at this point.

Harry: I remember feeling the same way after my mother died. And a bit with Peter too.

Y/N: Oh, okay. Well, I better get working on this. I just wanna get it out of the way. I'll talk to you later.

Harry: Alright, man. See ya.

I hang up.

Now, I have to work on this.

(Ten minutes later)

So, for the past ten minutes I've been trying to work on this assignment.

I haven't even written anything yet. I just can't.

I move in my chair and look out of my window. I then remember my uncle Shane is back in town.

He was on a trip for the past two weeks.

Time to go and see him.

I get up and open my bedroom window.

Once I'm out of the house I go to see uncle Shane.

(Fifteen minutes later)

I make it to uncle Sam's condo and climb up the fire escape.

When I get there I see him sat on the couch.

So, I snap a pic of him and send it to him.

A second later he looks out the window to see me.

Y/N: Hey, uncle Shane. Did I scare you?

He chuckles.

After that he comes over to the window and opens it.

Shane: What are you doin' here?

Y/N: I was bored.

He smirks.

Shane: Okay, come in.

He backs away and let's me climb through the window.

After that we hang out and I'm now punching his punching bag.

Shane: So, how's school been, kid?

Y/N: It's good. I mean as good as things can be.

He chuckles.

Shane: You talking to any girls. I mean smart girls are some good ones. Mid-Town High must be full of 'em.

I chuckle.

Y/N: No. There's no-one.

Shane: Hey, I can't have my nephew out there with no game. Did your dad ever tell you about how we used to get girls back in the day?

Y/N: No. Besides, I've got game. There's this new girl there. And she's kinda into me. You know how it is?

Shane: Oh yeah? What's her name?

Y/N: Uh, you know, I'm still laying down the groundwork right now.

He laughs and sits on the couch with me.

Shane: You know about the shoulder touch?

Y/N: Yeah, of course. But you know, tell me anyway.

Shane: Tomorrow, find that girl. You walk up to her and be like.

He puts his hand on my shoulder.

Shane: Hey.

I chuckle.

Y/N: You serious, uncle Shane?

Shane: I'm tellin' you, kid. It's a science. Your old man used the move on your mother. Girls like a guy who's not afraid to go for it.

He tries to show me the shoulder touch, but it doesn't really work.

Uncle Shane just laughs.

Shane: Man, your old man has done a terrible job at teaching you this stuff. I guess it's good you've got me.

I sigh.

Y/N: Yeah. Tell me about it.

After that I show uncle Shane some of my work.

So, he takes me somewhere I can put it up.

(One hour later)

(Brooklyn, New York)

He and I go to an abandoned subway in Brooklyn.

We walk down the tunnel.

Y/N: Man, how'd you find this place?

Shane: Your dad and I found it back in the day.

He climbs over the fence, then I do the same.

Shane switches on the power and we're in a big room.

I walk into it.

Y/N: (Echos) Brooklyn!

I go over to a blank part of the wall.

Y/N: It's so fresh.

Uncle Shane throws me spray paint and I get to work.

Sam: Alright, you're on your own, Y/N. That's looking good.

(Thirty minutes later)

So, after about thirty minutes I finish my work with uncle Shane's help.

We sit back and look at it.

Shane: Wow.

Y/N: Is it too crazy?

Shane: No. Definitely not. I see what you're doing here. Yeah. You know, your dad and I used to do stuff like this together.

Y/N: No way. Bullshit.

Shane: No, I'm serious. We were always getting in and out of trouble together.

Y/N: What happened?

Shane: It all changed after your dad became a cop after that. We just, I don't know... we just drifted apart. He's a good guy and I love him, but... well, you know what I'm saying.

I nod.

Y/N: Yeah. I do. But he's a pain in my ass.

Shane: What do you mean?

I sigh.

Y/N: Ever since Peter died... he's... he's just been pushing me on everything.

Shane: You know he's only doing it cause he loves you, right?

Y/N: Yeah, I know. Just wished he'd stop sometimes.

Shane: I get it. My old man was the same way sometimes.

Uncle Shane's phone vibrates.

Shane: Okay, buddy. Let's go. I need to get back to the club.

He gets up.

I get up and go to take a picture of my work.

Y/N: So cool.

(Three hours later)

Tombstone and a group of his men come back from the forest.

Fisk: Where is he, Tombstone?

Tombstone: The subject got away, sir.

Fisk screams in anger and turns to be punch the wall.

Fisk: Damn it! We need to find him. He has all our information on the Collider. Get out there and find him. Bring him back dead or alive.

Tombstone: We're on it, boss.

The group leaves.
