Goblin
Peter stood in the middle of the garage while he was back in his classic suit. Taking a few moments to shoot off various webbing in the garage, he managed to shoot them off just like the old days.
Doing a few stretches to make sure he doesn't tear through the suit (he might've skipped the gym for a few years), he saw that the suit still fits. Well, it fits well enough for one more mission. He closes his eyes, he waited for the ball machine to go off, which sent a ball flying at his face. His senses reacted fast enough so that he managed to catch the ball with ease.
"Just like riding a bike," Peter whispered in happiness.
At the OsCorp facility, the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. were waiting for him to show, wondering when the Green Goblin would come in. His glider wasn't going to last long, and they knew he would come for it sooner or later. But it was like he was either avoiding the facility or waiting to strike.
None of them knew that the Green Goblin wasn't even going anywhere near the location. It seems that he knew about the first Goblin's mistake on the power source and already found a suitable replacement for it.
But it wasn't at OsCorp. It was at STARK Industries.
This is exactly where the Spectacular Spider-Man was making his grand return.
Everyone all over New York was going about their everyday lives like they normally would. They had no reason to expect today would be any different from any recent days. Nothing new was going to happen according to them.
But that's where they were all wrong.
There was a subtle sound that filled the air, getting several people to stop what they were doing and look around.
That sound they heard?
THWIP!
It couldn't be.
To all of New York, he had been gone for fifteen years. He left for Metropolis. He couldn't be back.
THWIP!
That's when a shadow was suddenly cast over some people, causing them to look back up to the skies.
And that's when they saw him.
Spider-Man swung throughout the city, making his way over towards STARK Industries where he knew the Goblin would be. But to the whole city, all they saw was their neighborhood hero back in the mask, back in their city, back to save the day.
"He's back?" A pedestrian asked in shock as he looked up.
At the Daily Bugle, Joseph Robertson, the current leader, and owner of the Daily Bugle was sipping his coffee. He was just looking out the windows when he saw Spider-Man swinging past their building.
Robertson looked shocked before he smiled. "Welcome back, kid."
But when he was swinging past the business district, a certain critic of his was watching as he came swinging past. "He's back?! Jared, get the podcast up! He's back! Spider-Man is back!"
In the RAFT prison just outside of New York, a monstrous vampire-looking man turned to the window, smelling a familiar scent in the air. "Spider-Man."
Peter kept swinging until he landed on the side of a building that was right across from the STARK facility where they make his Arc Reactors. Sadly, it seems that Tony changed his number, and Peter was never given it so he couldn't warn Tony that he was coming.
He was on his own.
Peter stopped so he could take a moment to try and keep calm. He doesn't know what he's going to do if this was actually the Goblin back from the dead. It would raise too many questions that would force him to relive what happened that day. That was something he swore he would never relive.
He opened one of the windows on the roof and lowered himself inside. Lowering himself down to the ground on a web, he realized that the security system was already taken down. He then started to stroll around the facility, looking at all of the containers filled with dangerous equipment.
"Looks like I was right," Peter commented as he walked around the room. "You needed a power supply for the glider, and you came for the Arc reactors."
"And I knew that this would get your attention." The Green Goblin's voice echoed through the room.
Peter started to try and follow the voice, wondering where he was. "Well, you certainly went through a lot of trouble to get an audience with little old me."
"Little old, but extremely dangerous." Goblin stated.
"Dangerous?" Peter asks. "Why do you think I'm dangerous?"
"Because I've seen it," Goblin stated, Peter still searching by swinging around the room, climbing on the containers. "Where I come from, let's just say we have history. "
"Where is that exactly?" Peter asks, not following what he's saying.
"Nowhere now." The Goblin was sorry to say. "My world was destroyed, but somehow I managed to survive. When I came here, it didn't take me long to see that you were also here."
Peter then sensed something when a bomb went off, sending one of the containers to fall on top of him. But he didn't flinch as he managed to catch that with full strength. Taking a moment to get used to the weight, not carrying something this heavy since he and Lois moved to a bigger house, he managed to put it down gently.
But he missed the Goblin as he flew over and grabbed Peter, somehow able to avoid his senses in the process, and he flew the two of them out of the building. Smashing into the window on their way out, Goblin flew them out as they started fighting through the air.
Back home with Lois and the girls, Mayday was in her home, watching some stuff on her phone. April was downstairs with Lois in the kitchen, things have gotten quiet around them after everything was explained to them.
To say they didn't have questions would be a lie, but nobody knew what else to really say after everything. Lois did her best to explain, but without Peter around to help, it became a one-sided questioning.
As the family wondered where Peter ran off to, considering the car was still with them, Lois assumed he was still somewhere, they felt the house begin to shake. Wondering what was going on, Lois noticed a familiar jet she has becoming too familiar with.
Seems that the daughters also recognized the jet as Mayday smiled, getting up and running out the door to meet them. The jet landed in the open fields and the back opened, revealing to be piloted by Teresa as she came out and met Mayday and April just as the doors opened.
"Auntie Teresa!" Mayday cheered as she came over and hugged her.
"Aw! How are my favorite nieces?" Teresa asked as she hugged her back, moving on to April as she came over.
"Not exactly good." April sighed.
"Yeah, your dad told me," Teresa assured the two she's already been caught up on their problems. "Why don't we talk inside?"
The two of them led Teresa inside where Lois walked over and hugged her sister-in-law. "Hey there, Teresa."
"Hey, Lois. How have you and Pete been doing?" Teresa asks her, wondering how she feels about everything.
"Peter's... coping." Lois thought that was a good word for it. "How long are you gonna be staying?"
Teresa followed Lois inside the house and towards the kitchen. "Not long, just a few days. Fury wants me back as soon as I can."
"Well, I'm trying to find Peter, but I don't know where he left too," Lois said, looking around the house.
"Yeah..." Teresa took a guess Peter never told them about the Goblin. "There's something I should have told you guys for a while..."
Peter and the new Goblin were fighting through the air, Peter punching the Goblin in his face and getting a good look at this New Goblin.
He wore a mask similar to Norman's, but with less of a monstrous design, making him look like he was wearing a face mask as well as a pair of goggles. The suit also had a more personal look, having it look like body armor rather than Norman's body armor.
New Goblin flew Peter into a construction area, holding him out to slam him into the pipes and poles.
"You think you're some kind of hero?!" New Goblin asks Peter as he head-butted Peter. "You're not!"
Peter seems to have lost his fighting touch with this stuff and this New Goblin seems to also have the enhanced serum Norman took.
New Goblin then lifted him into the air and started to choke Peter. He struggled to free himself from his grasp when New Goblin pulled out some blades from his wrist, going to slice Peter's throat.
But Peter managed to get out of his grasp by kicking his first, only for New Goblin to tear his chest insignia. Luckily, he barely cut the skin and Peter wrapped his legs around New Goblin before leaping off the board.
Shooting a web out, he attached himself to the top of the Empire State Building and shot ricochet webs at New Goblin. He managed to avoid and shield himself from them all, but a few managed to make contact with him.
They weren't enough to stop him though as he pulled out the blades again. He flew over and sliced Peter's web which was connected to the building. Peter goes falling and tried to web onto something else, but only got slammed into the side of the Empire State and implanted into it.
"You are the very thing that destroyed my world." Goblin informed Peter, who started to shake out of the hit. "And I'm going to make sure you don't get that chance again."
Goblin then drew his blades and went to stab Peter again. But that's when he waited and jumped out of the way and allowed Goblin to impale the wall. But then he gave Peter the upper hand to try and get some answers.
"What are you talking about?" Peter asked him. "I would never hurt this world."
"Liar!" Goblin cried, pulling an entire section of the wall off with Peter on it.
Peter got his bearings when Goblin came around, smashing the wall into pieces. Grabbing Peter and slamming him into the walls. Tons of bricks and debris followed as Peter was getting knocked senseless by this stranger. But then he made a mistake when he tossed Peter through a glass wall.
That gave Peter the advantage to do a barrel roll and he ended up landing on the nearest roof in a stance. "Oh, god. I gotta get out of here."
As he thought this, he saw the Goblin coming back around with blades out of his glider this time. Running off at the roof, he leaped just for the blades to slice the roof pipes and swing down the street. Remembering the Goblin's weakness and how he was able to defeat him, Peter found a tight alleyway up ahead he could just fit through.
He swung as fast as he could with Goblin right on his back and made it into the alley. On the way in, his back was scratched and damaged due to the weight (he's gotta lay off some pounds) but he managed to fit.
But it seemed New Goblin fixed this problem as he spun and made his way through the alley. "I'm still here!"
"Great." Peter sighed, seeing he needed to think outside the box.
Yet while he was thinking, Goblin launched several of the Razor Bats and they started to chase Peter.
"I hate those things." Peter groaned in anger.
They all started to chase Peter as he tried to avoid them, only to have them come over and slice his shoulder, and hip and another got impaled into his leg. Crying in pain, Peter got an idea and spun around and swung past Goblin and allowed the bats to come at him.
Quickly turning around to chase after him, Peter got enough of a distance to shoot down the razor bats. As he took them down, he got an idea and saw Goblin grabbing a bomb. Peter webbed one of the last bats left and sent it flying back at the bomb Goblin tossed.
Then when they hit, the two exploded and created a cloud of smoke and fire to disguise what Peter was about to do. When the smoke cleared, Goblin looked and saw a web line coming up and smacking him off the board.
The Goblin goes falling and his goggles are cracked when Peter landed and pinned him to the ground. "Now...answers!"
"You've already revealed all the answers I need," Goblin tells him, his voice sounding familiar to Peter. He then pushed a button on his glove and his glider started to bleep, flying away. "That thing is about to blow. I better hurry."
Peter looked over to the glider, then back to the Goblin. If he lets him go now, things will get worse, and he saw he can escape his webbing with ease. But he can't let that glider explode. Making his decision, he leaped and chased after the glider.
The glider made him chase down the street before Peter could catch up to it. Grabbing it with two webs, he spun it around before he tossed it into the air and threw it into the air.
Panting in exhaustion, Peter groaned and laid back before deciding he needed to get back home now.
He had a lot of explaining to do.
