Chapter Seven
"You ignorant little misbehaving fools. I ought to have you expelled." Snape said like a snake, his voice almost villainous.
"We weren't doing anything wrong. Just helping them get cleaned up after their... trick." Harry lied.
"Yeah look, they're covered in pudding and gravy!" Ron joined in.
"Well maybe your friends should learn how to behave, Potter." Snape sneered.
"Ew you look like someone dumped grease on you." El said in disgust.
"What did you just say?" Snape growled at El, "Hopper?"
"Your hair is really greasy." El smirked. She made a hand motion at Lucas, signaling him to run. "Like, Gag me with a spoon."
"Jane!" Hermione seethed.
"Put a bag on your head will ya?" Lucas cackled.
"Sinclair-"
"Here, I'll go find you some shampoo. Maybe you'll look less like the back side of a toilet seat them." Lucas continued, grabbing Peter and Marinette by the wrist. "I'll be back!" The boy added before taking off, dragging the others with him. Harry and Hermione tagged along too, sprinting away from the man about to give them detention.
Next thing they knew, Eleven was with them too. The young teens all trying to stifle their laughter. Running from authorities seemed... fun. For once.
"Do we have everybody?" Peter asked as they rounded up the stairs to the seventh floor.
"Where's Ron?!" Hermione suddenly stopped in her tracks. Peter heard a boom, like the sound of lighting. He looked up the flight of stairs to see... the portal.
"It's too late... FRIDAY?!" Peter called out, "FRIDAY can you hear me?! Close the portal! We need more time!"
FRIDAY, of course, couldn't hear him.
"Ronald!" Hermione yelled down the stairs, beginning to run back the way they came. Harry grabbed her wrist.
"We can't! Snape is-" Harry began.
"Ron's in trouble Harry!" Hermione wrestled herself out of his grasp. "We shouldn't have left him!"
"Guys the portal is-" Lucas was looking at it in amazement.
"My AI can't hear us from here. The portal is going to take us in!" Peter reported.
"I'm not going with you guys anyways!" Hermione writhed.
"I don't think there's a choice," Peter called, feeling the drag of the portal pulling him up the stairs.
"I can't leave! I don't have time for this nonsense!" Hermione grit her uneven teeth, "I'm leaving!" She gasped as Snape rounded the corner, his face pale and angry.
"Run!" El said, running up the stairs to where Peter was.
"I'm sorry Hermione!" Peter said, guiding El and Lucas into the portal. Adrien and Marinette jumped in on there own, "but there really is no time!" Peter stepped backwards, giving Snape and the others one last look before vanishing in the coils of smoke.
Perhaps Hermione and Harry wouldn't follow suit. Perhaps they'd been left behind in peace, Peter thought.
He was wrong.
