Whatever It Takes (Part Three) | Peter Parker [TH]/Dad!Stephen Strange
Do you guys think that the Far From Home trailer will be out Thursday? I think it will be - for Spider Verse, at least. I'm so excited to see Peter again!
What do you guys think about the rumor that Aunt May is dating Happy Hogan? (Personally... I don't know about this.)
And what about Michelle and Peter dating? (In my opinion, I expected this and am totally okay with it... HOWEVER I hope they add some dimension to Michelle's character! She was just mean in Homecoming and literally said like three things to Peter the entire time.)
+ I will be doing a Miles Morales series based on the movie Into the Spider Verse because that's the one that won the vote! Thank you all for voting <3
Anyway - enjoy part three!

You sat there with tears streaking down your face. Then you stood up slowly, stepping in front of Tony's weak body.
"Who are you?" you asked.
"Fury sent me," she said.
"Fury?" You looked down at Tony as he repeated what she said in a whisper. "Nick Fury?"
"Yes," she replied.
You sank back down to the floor next to Tony and continued to look up at her. "Have you come to help us?"
"Yes."
"How?" you asked.
"We'll fight."
"No offense," Tony said, groaning as he tried to sit up. "But we don't have much of an army to fight with, so-"
"You have a team," she said, "and you just need to get back to them. I'll fly this back to Earth."
"We're stranded here," you said. "We can't-"
"I can," she said. She looked around, then looked down at Tony. "Get up, Tony Stark. We won't stop until we've fixed every last thing that has happened." She held out her hand, and before Tony took it, she said, "I need you both to fill me in on what has happened to Earth, and what has happened to my friend."
"Alright," Tony said. "You get this ship headed in the right direction, and we might just have enough oxygen to let me tell you."
//
You weren't sure what this woman had planned, or who she was. She didn't scare you; she was kind and talked to you a lot - in the one day that she knew you. She reassured you that she only wanted to help you and wanted to be a friend.
One time, she sat down next to you and looked at you. Her blonde hair fell off her shoulder when she put her elbows on her knees. "Are you alright?" she asked.
"Fine," you responded shortly.
She nodded as she looked at you, but you can tell she didn't believe you even a bit. "I know I don't know you really at all, but I was a young girl too, once. And sometimes things happen that make you change. And right now, you're in the middle of a war."
"We're at the end of a war," you corrected. "And if we are lucky, we can start a new one. This time to our advantage." You reached down to the ground and picked up the boots you'd kicked off a few minutes before. You shoved your feet into them and started to lace them up. "Then I can make things right. I will make things right."
"Make what right?" she asked softly.
You shut your eyes. "When Thanos snapped his fingers..." you started, and you struggled not to cry. For the past several weeks, you'd pretty much done everything in your power to not think of your father or Peter, but now you were letting your mind think of them. "When he snapped his fingers, my dad disappeared. And before he... he went - he told me that I needed to remember everything I learned from him."
"So what are you going to make right?" she asked.
"My dad was a sorcerer," you said. "And I believe that there's going to be a way to bring them back. I mean there's got to be. There has to be a spell of some kind somewhere that can bring him back. I can't think of anything, but there are tons of things that even my dad didn't have the chance to study.
"When I go home, I'm going to bring him back. All of them. Or I am going to die taking out Thanos with my own hands."
"I'll stand with you," she said. "And if there's anything I can do to help get your dad back, then I will do it."
You shook your head.
"Hey - we can get your dad back. And everyone else that was taken away-"
"I held Peter when he died," you whispered. "And seeing him go... and feeling him fall out of my arms - I don't know if it's possible to bring them back. They died, Carol. I watched my dad die and then I held Peter and heard him beg me to save him while he-" Your eyes filled with tears and you quickly wiped them away. "I can't see a way out of this mess."
"I can." She put a hand on your back and you leaned against her. Her cheek pressed against the top of your head and she shut her eyes. "I'll fight with you until the very end."
You smiled a little. "Where were you before all of this? We could have really used you."
She laughed softly. "I'm here now."
That night, Carol Danvers became your closest friend.
//
That night as you slept, you dreamed about Peter.
You were back on Titan, and you were sitting next to him, just in silence. The sky was bright and everything looked slightly orange.
"It's nice," Peter said suddenly.
"Hm?" You looked around at the horizon. "What is?" you asked.
"Being here," he said.
You shrugged. "I guess."
"Is there somewhere else you'd rather be?" he asked.
You looked at him. "Home."
"I don't know, I guess." He grinned, looking back out there. He laughed, and that made your heart swell with comfort. "This is nice too. It's better than being where I have been."
"Where is that?" you asked.
"I've been dead," he said. His tone changed and he looked at you again. "You let me go."
You sat there, frozen. "I didn't want to let you go-"
"But you did," he said.
"I-I can get you back-" you said, panicking.
"No you can't. You can't. You're never going to see me again. Don't you know that? I'm not coming back. I'm not coming back. I'm not coming back. I'm not coming back. I'm not coming back. I'm not coming b-"
You jerked out of your sleep and sat up straight, gasping loudly. "I'm not coming back!" you cried out.
Tony turned around and looked at you.
"Whoa - kid, you okay?"
You put your hands against your face. "I don't feel good," you said. "What are you doing awake?"
"Kind of hard to sleep when it feels like your lungs are being crushed," he said.
You were suddenly aware that the not feeling good came from the feeling in your chest. You rubbed the spot below your collarbone and tried to not panic.
"Yeah. We're about out of oxygen," he said. "I'm sorry. I was hoping you'd stay asleep just... just in case-"
Suddenly, the ship began to shake.
"No need to try to die in comfort just yet!" Carol shouted. "We're breaking through the atmosphere."
Your heart squeezed in your chest.
You were home.
