CHAPTER 39
Erin, still reeling from her revenge on Antoine, turned her attention to Taehyung. She dove deep into his past, tracking down every detail of his life. It didn't take long to uncover his first year of college. She learned that he was struggling to pay his fees, working part-time as a vendor at a café called "Cup of Coffee."
One evening, she cornered one of Taehyung's old classmates. "So, tell me, how was he back then?" Erin asked, her voice edged with curiosity.
The classmate shrugged. "He was always hustling, man. Had to work at that coffee shop just to scrape by. Never complained, though."
Erin nodded, absorbing every word. "Sounds like he was really grinding just to get by. I've got to say, I've seen his hustle from day one."
Later, Erin smirked as she reviewed her notes. "Got it all figured out. Taehyung's got a history of scraping through. Makes him all the more interesting."
She knew every detail now-his struggles, his part-time gig, the way he worked tirelessly. It wasn't just about revenge anymore; it was about understanding him completely.

[Han yunjin]
Erin's research revealed a new detail-Taehyung had a girlfriend named Han Yunjin. Her face went stone cold as she overheard people talking about them.
"Yeah, Yunjin's always around Taehyung," someone said. "They look pretty serious."
Jealousy surged through Erin. She was determined to find out more about Yunjin. Her investigation soon revealed that Yunjin was using Taehyung to get him under her body, only bothered to take his virginity. And also gets to know the plan about drugging him.
Erin's frustration peaked. "So Yunjin's just playing him to get to Soobin? That's low," she fumed.
She took a deep breath, her mind racing with thoughts of revenge. "I'm going to make sure you both feel the weight of what you've done," she vowed. "You think you can mess with people like this and get away with it? Not on my watch."
With her resolve set, Erin prepared for her next move, determined to confront Yunjin and Soobin about their deceit.

At almost midnight, when Han Yunjin almost when step behind to drug Taehyung, a message popped on her screen, gathering her attention.
She received a text from an unknown number: "Hey Yunjin, this is Soobin. I got a new number. Meet me behind the theater, near the forest."
Her initial suspicion gave way to a blush of excitement. She hurried through the dark, winding path lined with ancient walnut trees, their gnarled branches casting eerie shadows under the pale moonlight.
The forest was cloaked in darkness, with only the occasional rustle of leaves breaking the silence. The air was heavy and cool, amplifying every sound in the stillness. Yunjin's footsteps were muffled by the thick undergrowth.
"Soobin, are you here?" Her voice cut through the quiet, echoing off the trees.
The silence stretched, broken only by the occasional distant hoot of an owl. Yunjin's heart raced as she called out again, "Why did he call me here?"
She stood there, a mix of anticipation and anxiety swirling within her, as the shadows of the forest seemed to close in around her.
Yunjin's heart pounded as she squinted into the murky darkness of the forest. Out of the shadows emerged a tall figure, its shape obscured and menacing. She hesitated but stepped closer, her voice trembling. "Soobin, is that you?"
The figure remained silent until it turned around, revealing a face that made Yunjin's breath catch in her throat. Erin's eyes glinted with a cold, predatory light. "Who—-who are you?" Yunjin stammered, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Does it matter?" Erin replied, her tone dripping with disdain. Before Yunjin could react, Erin had seized her by the wrist, her grip like iron. Yunjin struggled to free herself, but Erin's smirk only grew wider. "How dare you drug Taehyung?"
Yunjin's eyes went wide with shock. "H—-how do you know about that?"
Erin's smirk deepened, her eyes dark with fury. "Does it really matter? I'm obsessed with him, and you were just using him. I won't stand for it."
Yunjin's face went pale as fear gripped her. The chilling silence of the forest was pierced by the eerie echo of Erin's words, reverberating through the trees.

[1 year after Han Yunjin's death]
Erin winced, her breath coming in ragged gasps as another wave of pain crashed over her. She clutched her abdomen, her knuckles white. "Agh! It's coming, it's coming now!" she cried out, her voice a desperate, strained wail.
The maids burst into the room, their faces a mix of alarm and urgency. "Mistress Erin! What's wrong?" one of them asked, her eyes wide with concern.
"It's time!" Erin managed to grunt between gritted teeth.
"I need-—help-—now!"
Without missing a beat, the maids sprang into action. One quickly fetched hot water and clean towels, while another bustled around preparing the room. "Hold on, just breathe," one of the maids instructed, gently guiding Erin to a more comfortable position on the bed.
Another maid hurried over, her hands steady as she helped Erin with calming breaths. "You're doing great. Just focus on breathing through the pain. We've got everything ready."
As the contractions intensified, Erin's eyes filled with tears, but she gritted her teeth and clenched the maid's hand. "Can't-—can't take it anymore!"
The maid rubbed Erin's back soothingly. "You're almost there. Just a bit more. We're right here with you."
The room was filled with the muted sounds of support and the clatter of preparations, the maids working swiftly to make the ordeal as bearable as possible.
As Erin heard her baby's first cries, a wave of relief washed over her. She looked down at the tiny bundle, tears of joy streaming down her face. "It's a boy!" one of the maids announced, her voice soothing.
Erin gently kissed the baby's forehead, her heart swelling with love. "Hey there, little guy," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. "You're finally here."
The baby's cries were music to her ears, and she smiled through her tears, savoring the moment. "I can't believe it. You're my miracle," she said softly, cradling him close.
The maids bustled around, their chatter a comforting backdrop. Erin's eyes stayed fixed on her son, a hopeful thought in her mind. "One day, we'll be with Taehyung. I promise."
With her baby in her arms, Erin felt a renewed sense of hope and purpose, her smile widening as she embraced the joy of this new chapter.

[The first library encounter] [1 year later of Elias birth]
Erin leaned against the library's wall, her eyes fixed on Taehyung's usual spot, the one he'd occupied day in and day out for the past two years. She had carefully orchestrated every detail, from his favorite reading chair to the librarian's subtle nudges. Money, after all, spoke volumes.
The librarian, an old-aged man with a friendly but calculating smile, approached Taehyung as he browsed through the counter. "Mr. Kim, please give this encyclopedia to that lady," he said, his voice smooth and inviting. He handed him a sleek, leather-bound volume.
Erin felt a rush of excitement and disbelief when she finally heard Taehyung's voice after waiting for eight years. It was like a mix of pure joy and amazement, almost like a dream come true.
Yes, that's true....Taehyung being a fan of her books was really something she never expected. It was more like a coincidence to happen. And, she was content to hear after all, it will help her to take steps with more feasibility.

[The treatment]
Erin was pacing back and forth in her room, her phone clutched tightly in her hand. She'd just made the last payment for Taehyung's mother's treatments. It had been a long eight years of scraping together every spare cent, and the weight of it all felt like it was finally lifting.
Her phone buzzed. It was a text from the hospital. She skimmed through it, her eyes narrowing.
"Damn it," she muttered, slamming her hand on the counter. "They better not screw this up."
Quickly, she dialed the hospital's number, her frustration palpable. "Hey, it's Erin. I need to make something crystal clear. You guys don't say a word about who paid for the treatment. Got it?"
The voice on the other end was wary. "We can't really-"
Erin cut him off. "Look, I'm not asking here. I'm telling you. If any word gets out about me or the payments, you'll regret it. I mean it. No leaks."
There was a pause before the voice stammered, "Alright, alright. It'll stay confidential."
Satisfied, Erin hung up and let out a deep breath. She flopped onto the couch, her mind racing. She had done this all for Taehyung, to keep him from knowing how much she'd sacrificed. She knew he'd be crushed if he ever found out the extent of her involvement. It wasn't about getting thanks or recognition; it was about making sure he never had to feel the weight of this burden.
"Here's to keeping him happy," Erin whispered to herself, her eyes closing as she leaned back.
[The scholarship]
Erin stood in the college office, her gaze fixed and intense. Taehyung was oblivious to the true source of his financial relief. She faced the manager, her tone steely.
"Listen up," Erin said, her voice cold. "You're gonna tell Taehyung he got a scholarship, got it? Nothing about who really paid."
The manager looked taken aback. "But, ma'am, we-"
Erin cut him off, her eyes narrowing. "No buts. If anyone finds out about me covering his fees, you'll regret it. This isn't a request; it's a warning."
The manager swallowed hard, nodding quickly. "Understood. We'll handle it."
Erin nodded sharply and turned to Taehyung, a tight smile on her lips. "Congrats on the scholarship. You've worked hard for this."
Taehyung grinned, totally unaware of Erin's quiet sacrifice. She watched him, her heart heavy but content. It was worth it to see him happy, even if it meant staying in the shadows.

[Soobin and Yeonjun death]
Erin handed Taehyung the DSLR with a big grin, hiding the fact that she'd secretly stashed a hidden camera inside. Taehyung was over the moon, admiring his new gift and snapping pics like a pro.
Erin, meanwhile, was glued to the footage from the hidden cam. She listened in on his chats with Soobin and Yeonjun, and it didn't take long for her to get seriously annoyed. Their comments about her were like a punch to the gut.
"Seriously?" Erin muttered to herself, fuming. "They're gonna pay for this." She started hatching a plan to get back at them, itching to make them regret their careless talk.
Further,
Soobin saw what he could never explain. As soon as he saw the hallmark of that particular person, his eyes widened and couldn't believe what stood next to him.
"Are y-—you,"
Erin growled and replied without letting him complete,
"Yes! It's me fool. How dare you to do all that to Taehyung? I saw your act through my own eyes. You, dickhead."
That unknown person plucked one of the cigarettes from the packet and lit it up. Taking the stick and then flicking between the fingers whispered, "No worries, let me finish all that just like I did to one of your slut, Han Yunjin."
"Taehyung girlfriend?" Soobin questioned to know the answer clearly and she smirked while tracing her fingers on the sharp edge of her knife. "Yes....alright let's finish this game...shall we?"
And few tears rolled down his cheek, fear sculpted his features. A gush of terror blew inside his body and soon, an ear-wrenched scream resonated among the woods.

[Antoine's death]
Erin barged into the backyard, flinging Antoine's muddy clothes aside. The scene was grim: blood everywhere, and Antoine lay bruised, his eyes vacant. His face a mask of pain and desperation. His eyes were empty, and the remnants of his dignity were barely recognizable.
"Please..." he mumbled weakly, trembling whisper, a stark contrast to his former self.
Erin looked at him, disgusted. "What's this? Begging now?"
She looked down at him with a mix of contempt and satisfaction
"Just end it," Antoine begged, his voice cracking. "I can't take this anymore."
With a cold smile, Erin said, "Don't worry. It's over for you today."
"Anyways, your death certificate is ready, that you died from stomach cancer."
She then moved in for the final act, and Antoine's desperate cries filled the air, signaling the end of his suffering.
The meat that Taehyung encountered, was none other than of Antoine's flesh. She murdered him into pieces and a satisfaction crept inside her knowing, she did justice to herself. To kill her rapist.
