CHAPTER 23
Present,
Erin glided the teeth of the comb through her hair. She gazed at her reflection cautiously and continued doing her work. The wind roared, creating several howl voices. Curtains displayed on the large windows, moving back and forth with the force of that gentle, yet cold breeze. The soft touch on her body rasped down shivers through her spine. Her skin erupted in goosebumps, a thrilling sensation coursing through her. Her untangled hair flowed in that direction as if guided by nature itself. The grasses bent gracefully, and numerous dried leaves gently descended to the Earth's surface.
She grinned. Even though she loves Taehyung, no doubt, nobody can make her fall out of love with nature.
Moreover, she doesn't get bothered to adore the tranquillity in nature.
Hereafter, completing her work, she sat down on one of the chairs in the garden. A cup of hot coffee, cold weather, and warmth enveloped her as she gazed at the sunset, finding solace in the weekend.
The palette of golden colours enveloped the sky in its beauty. As if, proceeding to emphasize the significance of the dusk phase.
Erin wrapped the blanket around her body, as the soft music of the breeze gently enwraps her heart in peace. A peace to survive once again, a peace in her soul after so much disturbance.
Soft chirping of birds, and their soulful voices interlacing with the atmosphere of restfulness. She put an end to her sight, only to feel the peaceful radiation provided by Mother Earth.
A book placed on the table drew her attention. She grasped the item and circulated the pen between her fingers. The stiffened pages of the book concluded how old it was. Yet, she continued reading the publication. It was a diary entry, which she used to write before Elias birth.
Going through many pages, she reached out to an interesting one,
"Why don't they understand? I want to become a writer in future. I can express my words. They say, if a writer falls in love with you, you can never die but live forever. I also want to become a great writer and a novelist in future. But no? My parents have to follow their rubbish legacy. They want me to become a professor like them. As it's very prosperous, and respectful. The fuck —I don't want to. Just stop it already."
The paragraph may have ended, but her pondering continued, reaching into the uncharted territories of her mind. She kept staring at the pages and words carefully. Indeed, her parents never once supported her. Yet, she never refused their offer out of respect and to maintain their dignity. She constantly had to comply with their decisions.
Moving on to the next pages, she finds something really funny and gives her infamous heartful laugh, a windshield one.
"Oh my god! You are so cruel. How could you do that darling? I am feeling so horny just because of you. The way you smile wonders me how handsome and hot person you are. Today, we almost kissed each other, only if that stupid child didn't come on our way to the park. Your lips are so succulent, I want to smooch them so badly. But don't worry, I'll wait. To get both of us married."
One more,
"I love him, I can't leave. Why don't my parents listen to me? Why do they have to do everything according to them?
Is it my fault, that I admire him the most? No way! I love you, darling, I love you. Fuck — I can never imagine, us distancing from each other!"
A drop fell down her cheek, as she softly stroked her fingers over the written words. She really couldn't take it, the time she had to leave her true warmth. The tears fell, a torrential downpour so strong she couldn't see past it. She didn't bother wiping the tears away. Erin sank in his remembrance, wrapped her arms around her legs and buried her face against her knees, drowning beneath the waves of that person's memories.
Without that specific person, her heart was incomplete. Maybe, the moon visualises beautiful while being incomplete. While being so distant away, she couldn't stop thinking about her darling. The pain she felt all those years, was impossible to reveal as such. That's the reason, she loves to write on paper, as they listen to her.
Alternatively, when Erin was about to read further, a call on her phone interrupted her.
'Taehyung'
With the back of her hands, she wiped the tears. It took her a few seconds to calm herself, and coughed a little, to resonate her voice. She squeezed her eyes shut and tried to calm her incoherent sobs.
"Yes, love?"
"Hey, sweetheart. How have you been? And Eli also?"
He sounds so joyful.
"We have been good lately, how about you love?"
Just like that, they continued talking for what seemed like hours. Finally, they said a sweet goodbye and hung up.
Soon, when she noticed the darkness engulfing the beautiful sky in itself, she took the book and other items as such.
Later, after feeding Elias his milk, she went to her bedroom and continued where she left.
"How are you darling? I hope you have been great. And here, I am this close to depression. I don't have any other person's shoulder. Everyone is so greedy. And I hate them for this. I don't know why everyone likes to be selfish.
If appearance matters the most than the soul, then why do souls rise to the sky and the body is buried in the ground?
You are the one, who never judged me, sweetheart. I want to get back to you."
She continued reading more and more.
Until she arrived at a page, where frustration and infuriation boiled her blood. Indignation and outrage concealed her face, her veins dripped with the purest form of anger. Just a few moments ago, she had some compassionate emotion, and now it was all transformed and mutated to wrath and exasperation instantly.
The words were enough to explode her rage, and the sympathy inside of her, couldn't deflate the ballon of anger visible behind her warm chocolate eyes.
"I don't believe it, you raped me. How could you?"
