The team was on the jet heading to Parker, Colorado for an intense case. The unsub was devolving quickly which only made the case worse and shortened your time to catch him if he were close to his end game.

The team had to hit the ground running which sent you and Spencer to the precinct, Tara and Matt to the ME, Luke and Rossi to the last crime scene, and Emily and JJ to the only survivor of the attack.

Upon arriving at the police department, the local sheriff had put you two in an open room but didn't do this without flirting with you. Spencer took notice of this and insisted that you two be left alone to work together. You brushed it off at first, including the flirtatious comments the sheriff directed to you, but as the comments and Spencer's hatred towards the sheriff grew as well.

The team had left to catch the newest suspect and you and Spencer stayed behind to help get the search warrent for his house.

"Ma'am, I don't mean to be direct but can I take you to dinner?" He asked, steping closer to you.

"I'm actually interested in someone else, sorry. Now, of you'll exc-,"

"Who is it?"

"Excuse me?"

"Who's this man you're choosing over me?"

"I don't believe that's any of your business, sheriff. I politely declined your offer to dinner, and I need to get back to this case."

You went to walk away but the sheriff grabbed your arm and yanked you back towards him.

"Let me go. You're hurting me." You told him, trying to escape his grasp.

"I'm not finished with you."

"Actually, I believe you are. Let her go now sheriff." You were ever so thankful to here Spencer's voice and feel his presence behind you.

The sheriff dropped your arm and stormed off.

"Thank you, Spence." You said hugging him tightly.

"Are you okay? Do we need to take you to the hospital?" He asked, concern obvious in his voice.

"Spence, I'm fine." You laughed as he pulled up your shirt sleeve to check for bruising.

"I'm reporting him as soon as this case is finished." He told you.

"Good. He doesn't need to be sheriff if he acts like that to women. And Spence," he looked at you, "after this case do you want to get dinner?"

He smiled, "I'd love to. Was I the guy that you said you were interested in?"

You nodded, leaning in to give Spencer a kiss on the cheek.

"Ah, there it is. Young love starting to bloom." Rossi announced as he and the rest of the team walked in.

You two laughed as he shook his head.
