thirty-four: forever connected
"Bring it over there! Oh, be careful! Yes, right there- Prince Jin, why aren't you dressed yet?" Jimin exclaimed as he rushed across the venue. The two best-men were under a lot of pressure to make this wedding the best it could be alongside the wedding planner.
Jin pulled Jimin aside, away from all the ruckus happening for the King's outdoor wedding so that they could fit all the elves coming from all across the world.
"They're missing," Jin said in a hushed tone. Jimin raised a brow.
"The rings?" Jimin whisper-yelled but Jin shook his head.
"The dumbass grooms."
Jimin groaned, letting his head fall back. He's made sure to keep a close eye on everything that he'd forgotten about the factor that can fuck it up the most.
"They seriously did not run away from their own wedding," Jimin whined and Jin crossed his arm.
"I bet 50 golds this was Taehyung's idea," Jin said, looking out all the people busy doing their job.
"Who else," Jimin muttered under his breath, activating his wrist call. He knew Jin probably checked but there wasn't really much he could do. After re-confirming they were completely off radar, Jimin turned back to Jin.
"They better be back on time."

Jeongguk gripped onto Taehyung's waist tightly as they soared through the sky on Mage's back, their robes doing their best to stay one as they flew behind. Taehyung passed the point where the the shield would usually restrict them and their smiles grew.
Taehyung slowed down, not wanting to miss any of the unexplored territory. It wasn't as lively as the rest, not with Zorock's control over them, but the eight kingdom's were set on changing that. This matter also filled most of Taehyung's royal duties at the moment. It was quite tense as they were in the process of deciding how to split it, but the King didn't want to think about that at that instant. It was all about him and Jeongguk, nothing else.
Jeongguk pressed a kiss against Taehyung's neck before letting his cheek rest on the older's shoulder looking out into the lands.
"Jeongguk?" Taehyung yelled out.
"Yeah?" Jeongguk replied with just as much volume.
"You know Jimin's going to rip our heads off for this, right?" Taehyung said and Jeongguk chuckled.
"I know, I know, but we both needed a breath of fresh air. It's like we never get time to ourselves with all the wedding preparation. Still, this is insane, I think you're rubbing off on me."
"Mmm, there'll be lots more rubbing toni-"
"Shh, not in front of the child," Jeongguk whispered hit the side of his arm before motioning to Mage and they both laughed.
"There could be rubbing right now," the younger whispered and Taehyung gasped.
"Really?" Taehyung asked excitedly.
"No, you idiot. Let's get down here. It looks much more alive."
Taehyung pouted, and although the younger couldn't see, he knew it was there. "Meanie."
"I love you too," Jungkook replied and looked more around the vast lands. They slowly landed on the ground. Mage sat down and they both mounted down. Without a warning, Taehyung began to run.
Jeongguk and Taehyung watched carefully in their seats while the bride made her way down the aisle. With their big and curious eyes, they took careful note of the bright smiles on the young couple.
"Why do people get married, Taehyungie?" the little elf questioned as quietly as he could while the couple exchanged vows.
Taehyung shrugged. "I think it's because they want to live together for the rest of their lives."
Just as he replied, the bride and groom shared a kiss making the two little elves look at each other and stick their tongues out in disgust.
"I wanna live with you in the palace for the rest of my life," Jeongguk said, stretching out "rest", after they stopped pretending to vomit. Taehyung jutted out his lips, a habit of his while he was thinking.
"Me too... Okay! I'll just marry you!" Taehyung exclaimed while everyone around them was standing up and cheering for the newlywed.
"Does that mean we have to kiss?" Jeongguk asked with a frown and Taehyung sighed.
"I guess so, but it'll be worth it."
Jeongguk nodded with agreement. He raised his short pinky to Taehyung's face and the older knew exactly what to do. He hooked his own finger around and they both yelled "it's a promise" at the same time.
Jin turned around from the seat in the row in front of them. "Did you guys hear they have a giant fountain of just chocolate? You could swim in it! And there's giant marshies to go with 'em!" Jin said and Taehyung gasped. He instantly stood up from his seat, people had already began to socialize and bustle about, and repeated, "Giant marshies?"
"Let's see it!" Taehyung yelled and the boys nodded at each other before exiting from their row.
Jeongguk stood up quickly, hoping to catch. "Wait for me!"
With a bright smile, Taehyung looked back and reached out his hand for the younger to grab onto.
"Wait for me!"
Taehyung snapped out his thoughts and spun around to see Jeongguk angrily walking towards him.
"Why do you always run off like that? Are you a child?" the elf yelled stopping a couple metres away.
Taehyung couldn't help it. The field was just so bare and went on for miles on miles, hasn't been stepped on in ages, it was just screaming to be ran across. It was like planting footprints on fresh snow.
His lips curved into a grin as he stretched out his arms. Jeongguk's heaved a breath and crossed him arms. As much as he tried, Jeongguk failed to fight the smile that crept to his mouth. Jeongguk rolled his eyes and jogged over to the older. Taehyung caught the elf and hugged him tightly, moving about in the embrace without purpose causing them both the fall. They were lucky their robes have been enchanted to be dirt-repellent.
"Tae!" Jeongguk yelled in fake annoyance as they separated and laid on the grass.
"My dear husband," Taehyung called out.
"M'not your husband," Jeongguk replied instantly.
Taehyung rolled onto his side to look at the younger with a pout. Jeongguk spared a glance to notice the sullen face.
"Not yet," Jeongguk added with a smile.
"There's only, like, seven hours until we are," Taehyung said. It was surprising when Jeongguk woke him up at the break of dawn asking him if he wanted to go beyond the shield. Taehyung mumbled half-asleep about it being the day of their wedding and restricted area, but Jeongguk pulled him out and got him ready before he could realize. If they were to show up late, Jimin won't ever let them see the light of day, and Jeongguk knew that very well. Unless...
Taehyung gasped, lifting himself up using his elbow. "Are you having second thoughts about the wedding?"
Jeongguk looked at Taehyung and frowned. He sat up slowly and Taehyung copied his action. "Tae, I really don't know how I could say this any better," Jeongguk started, grabbing Taehyung's hands.
"Gguk..." Taehyung trailed, searching his eyes for what was going on.
"But," Jeongguk let go of his hands only to slap them on the sides of Taehyung's face. "Stop being an idiot."
Taehyung's jaw dropped as he hit the side of Jeongguk's thigh. "You nearly gave me a heart attack!"
Jeongguk erupted in laughter and brought Taehyung's face closer to connect their lips. He continued to laugh more against his mouth and Taehyung smile. Now Taehyung grabbed the elf's face and pulled him back.
"I don't believe you, make your eyes glow," Taehyung demanded and Jeongguk widened his eyes. Taehyung burst into a fake cry. "They're not glowing!"
"Shut up, you know I don't have control over that," Jeongguk ended the joke and let go of Taehyung's face. Taehyung released the other two only to turn, let his head fall on Jeongguk's lap and shut his eyes. Jeongguk chuckled weaved his finger's through the elf king's hair, reminding himself they have to be on time for when the hairstylist gets there. It's grown a lot, hitting right below his chest. The village kids enjoyed braiding them a lot more now.
"This is why I wanted us to come out here. We make quite the silly duo, you know?"
Taehyung grinned. "I know, my love."
"But we need to be serious at the wedding. We've got millions of eyes on us now, no room for mistakes."
"Yes, Prince Jeongguk," Taehyung hummed. Taehyung had wanted to give him the title of King but Jeongguk refused, not knowing if he even could. They finally settled on a Prince title after much debate. Jeongguk brushed him off and continued to lecture him about his responsibilities. They both knew well he didn't need a reminder, but it always calmed Jeongguk's nerves to repeat it.
"We should head back, love." Taehyung opened his eyes after the a long pause of silence, signalling Jeongguk has calmed. "You've basically just kidnapped the King of Saphia. You could be, like, exiled for this."
"Sure I would." Jeongguk chuckled and bent down to press a kiss on Taehyung's forehead before they both got up. They got themselves on Mage and headed home.
Upon their arrival to the stable, Hoseok stood there with his arms crossed as if he had been instructed to be upset with them but couldn't hold in the laugh. Yoongi was by his side no trying to hide his amusement at all
"You both are crazy!" Hoseok yelled before rushing them inside. Hoseok and Yoongi split the couple and took them to their separate rooms where the hair dressers and makeup artist were waiting. Jimin had arranged everything so that they were ready well ahead of time, leaving room for their minor setback.
The ceremony was very similar to the one he'd watch of the royal family back on Earth and western weddings, but it did have its differences. For example, along with a kiss to celebrate their union, they place their foreheads together while casting a bonding spell on each other. A sort of tracking spell so that they could feel each other's presence and be able to find them no matter the distance.
Once the grooms were ready, they were escorted to opposite ends of the room. Taehyung took in deep breath as he waited in the corridor with Jin.
"You ready?" Jin asked, fixing the sleeve of Taehyung's robe.
"Were you this nervous too? I don't even know why I'm nervous, I love Jeongguk with my entire being but why am I nervous?"
Jin chuckled. "I was very much like you, I'm sure all soon to be weds feel this way. Iris did too, apparently. It's a commitment, Tae, it's a very important step in you two's life. You're nervous because there's still that doubt in your mind on wether you're good enough for Jeongguk."
"Am I?"
"Of course you are, idiot."
Taehyung pouted. "That's all I've been called today," he said and Jin laughed, spreading the smile to his lips too.
They were finally signalled to walk through the entrance hiding the outside by weaved chains of flowers. Taehyung took in a final breath before he walked through, Jin following behind him. He adjusted himself to the light until he saw Jeongguk walking at the opposite end.
Taehyung forgot how to breathe the instant he laid his eyes on him. There was nothing special about his appearance as he looked absolute gorgeous every single day in the eyes of the King, it was because Taehyung realized how everything came together. Any worries that filled his thoughts disappeared and Taehyung knew with all his heart their love for each other was undeniable.
They joined hands as they met in the middle to walk down the aisle. "You look lovely," Jeongguk whispered and Taehyung replied, "You look hot as fuck." Jeongguk did his best to hold his snort. It was such a Taehyung response and Jeongguk hopes he never changes.
Namjoon awaited them at the alter to officiate the marriage. Royal guest from all over the world filled the seats at the ceremony, everyone wearing their best attire as it will very likely be the most viewed event in history. Even Zorock and Linda will be watching, Taehyung wanted them know how happy they were without them in their lives.
The wedding went as smoothly as it could. They stumbled and giggled over their vows, Yoongi began laughing his ass off when Jeongguk said "I do" before Namjoon was able finish his sentence, and Taehyung nearly forgot the spell even though he practiced it a million times, but it was absolutely perfect to the elves.
"Volgnarasouyi," Jeongguk finished.
They pulled back once the spell had been cast and Namjoon let them know they could seal their love with a kiss. Jeongguk's eyes glowed a bright blue, showing the entire world how much he truly loved the king, before he shut them and leaned in. Taehyung grabbed the side of his face the deepen the sweet kiss. They separated quickly to make sure they don't forget about their audience, they could only imagine another pair young elves very much like themselves being grossed out.
The entire kingdom cheered as the couple faced them and took a bow to thank them for their well-wishes. Flower petals fell from every direction and decorated the space beautifully as they walked back up the aisle with linked arms.
"I love you," Jeongguk said as he laid his head on the older's shoulder.
"I love you more, my dear husband."

"Congratulations, I guess you won."
Taehyung chuckled as he shook Jennifer's outstretched arm. Instead of shaking it, he pulled her closer and the elf embraced him in a hug.
"If you make him cry, I'll rip out every strand of your hair piece by piece, then I'll gut you and bury each of your body part on different planets, and then set your dick on fire," she half-joked. Taehyung rolled his eyes and pulled back.
"Jenn, has anyone told you how insane you are?" he said and Jennifer shoved him back by his shoulder.
"Shut up," she said and they shared a laugh. They've gotten a lot closer the first few months after the battle between Zorock and his army went down. She gave him support in keeping the meetings with other kingdoms under control and he encouraged her father to have a bit more faith in his daughters.
They're so called rivalry continued but somewhere along the way, it just became a joke and ended once and for all when Jennifer began to date Jimin. Although, that didn't last long and they both mutually broke up. Now Jennifer's engaged to her girlfriend of six month. A lot of time passed since Taehyung proposed to Jeongguk, but they wanted to make sure that it was just right before they had their wedding.
"What are you two doing?" Jeongguk joined them and earned his own hug from Jennifer. She brushed that off and brought up a quick childhood story to reminisce on the special day.
"Anyways, Jimin said it's time for our first dance," Jeongguk said after he finished laughing. Jennifer nodded and let them got to the middle of the ballroom. As the familiar tune of the wedding song plays, everyone dispersed and left the couple alone as they circle around them.
"May I have this dance, your highness?" Jeongguk asked with a bow.
"Of course," Taehyung replied with a grin and a bow of his own. As soon as he placed a hand around Jeongguk's waist and weaved their fingers together with the other, the violin joined in. The two elves began the steps they practiced every night for the past two weeks or so.
The classes were mostly Taehyung trying to convince Jimin and Jeongguk they should start floating mid-dance as a surprise to the guest, and he had succeeded. Taehyung had to wrap his arm around Jeongguk's waist and hold him tight to lift them both. It was one of the reason why Jimin was agaisnt it as Taehyung only had the ability to fly out of the two but seeing how much Taehyung wanted it, Jeongguk put his faith in the elf and Taehyung had greatly improved at it.
It was better than any of there previous attempts. Jeongguk's smile slowly grew as he let go of the fear of them both tumbling down and only focused on the way Taehyung's stared at him, absolutely and undeniably in love.
The crowd gasped as the couple rose alongside beautiful glimmers of light shinning through the ice crystals, courtesy to Jeongguk who was willing to share the beauties of his gift to the kingdom on this special occasion.
"My dear husband," Taehyung whispered, loving using the word. Jeongguk chuckled and pressed a kiss to the corner of his lips, there were hundreds of pairs of eyes on them after all.
They slowly lowered, gently letting their feet touch the floor again just as the music comes to an end for the room to be immediately filled with claps. The two bowed to each other as a new cheerful song began and elves joined the newlyweds on the dance floor. After a couple more dances and going around to greet all their guests, Taehyung and Jeongguk managed to slip away to the balcony.
"How could everything be so perfect?" Jeongguk asked as he ran up to the edge, the excitement only growing. Taehyung followed right after, snaking his arms around Jeongguk and letting his chin rest on the younger's shoulder.
"I know right, I'm scared this will all be a dream and I'll wake up back in New York, passed out on that old ass couch," Taehyung replied, earning a little laugh from Jeongguk. They took a moment to just take in the quietness of the night, the chatter of the party drowned out.
"So Zorock and Linda saw all of it?" Jeongguk asked and Taehyung's smile slightly dropped.
"Yup," he breathed out. "According to the guards, Linda yelled for it to stop but Zorock seemed to have enjoyed it, like, genuinely. Not what I was going for but..."
"Do you really think he could change?"
Taehyung hummed. "Yes, and I think he is. Changing. The sooner he realizes what he's become, the more time he'll spend in there regretting it."
Jeongguk nodded. "It pains me to see Namjoon sometimes, though. I hear Zorock's got a whole library in his cell at this point," he paused to force a chuckle. "I don't know how he could still love him."
"Love works in the most mysterious of ways."
"I guess so."
"So did ours, in a way."
Jeongguk hummed as a reply. He turned his head as best as he could and Taehyung helped him achieve his goal of stealing a kiss from his husband. Jeongguk smiled into it as he turned around and hooked his arms over the older's neck, pulling him closer.
"I can't wait for our honeymoon. Earth's not as grand as Elvador, but it's still got its own little wonders," Taehyung said.
"As long as I'm with you," Jeongguk replied.
Taehyung smiled and scrunched his nose. "Ah, you're making me blush, my prince."
"Ah really? Let me cool you down," Jeongguk said beginning to pepper dozen of kisses all over his husband's face.
Taehyung giggled as he caught Jeongguk's face between his hands. "Thank you darling, but save some for tonight."
"As if I've got a limit," Jeongguk whispered and Taehyung lifted his brows.
"We shall see," he said before connecting their lips together.
A cough caused the two to separate a turn to the producer of the sound. Namjoon stood there with a wide smile and his arms crossed.
"I absolutely hate to interrupt you both but Leonava is dying to get a group picture, but they can't seem to find the stars of the night," Namjoon explained.
The couple shared a laugh. "Let's get going then," Taehyung said taking Jeongguk's hand. Namjoon nodded and led the way out. As Taehyung went to follow, Jeongguk held him back.
"Thank you, for believing in me that night, even if you thought it was a dream, and becoming the best of you," he said.
Taehyung smiled. "And thank you for never giving up on me."
"Never," Jeongguk repeated.
"Let's go, my love."
