prologue

Bellatrix POV

Six months. That’s how long it’s been since my life turned upside down. Not in the cute, quirky “Oh, I just found out my father is human and my other dad is a true alpha werewolf!” way. No, in the “You’re not human; you’re a werewitch hybrid born from a magical experiment your two dads used to make a child ” way. Thanks, life. Real subtle.

And let me tell you, it’s been chaos.

Luna, my half-sister who’s practically allergic to fun, thought it’d be a great idea for me to unlock my witch side. You know, after I accidentally touched the Moonstone and nearly set den on fire. No biggie. My training started shortly after with Sabrina Spellman and Agatha Harkness. They’re like magical opposites: Sabrina’s all “Do good, be good,” while Agatha is more “Burn first, ask questions later.” I vibe with her.

Oh, and I’m not just learning to control magic. Nope. I also get to train my wolf side with Scott McCall, Beacon Hills’ golden boy. He’s annoyingly optimistic for someone who’s been through so much. Still, I’ve gotta admit, he’s a damn good teacher. Plus, he tells  me about my other dad, Derek Hale, who was apparently the king of brood. Brooding runs in the family, I guess. Luna and Derek could've started a support group.

Speaking of Luna, she’s still in Seabrook with Willa, her one true love. Meanwhile, Zed’s walking around like a rejected boy-band member. Addison went missing six months ago, and he’s been moping ever since. Honestly, I’d feel bad if he wasn’t so insufferable. Anyway, I’ve got bigger issues than their soap opera.

Like Wiccan.

Turns out, Wanda Maximoff isn’t dead. I mean, she’s dead, but not dead-dead. Her son, who was also supposed to be dead, is very much alive and hunting me for my powers to resurrect her. Because that’s what I needed—another homicidal maniac on my tail.

Wyatt, my boyfriend (yeah, I know, shocking someone tolerates me), has been a rock through all of this. He even stuck around during my first transformation. Let’s just say it wasn’t pretty, but he didn’t run screaming. Points for him.

Addison POV

Six months ago, I made a choice. I left Seabrook with Wiccan, no explanations, no goodbyes. People probably think I’m dead or worse. Good. Let them.

Wiccan gave me powers. Real ones. Not some “I’m special because I glow” nonsense. No, this was the real deal. Prudence Blackwood trained me—she’s terrifying, by the way. Six months later, I’m not just a cheerleader anymore; I’m a weapon. And I’m ready to take down Bellatrix.

But we can’t do it alone, which is why Wiccan recruited two more witches.

Rowan Blackthorn is the poster child for ambition. She’s powerful, confident, and doesn’t trust anyone—not even Wiccan. Her magic is all about energy manipulation and rituals. If anyone can match Wiccan’s power, it’s her.

Then there’s Ivy Nightshade. She’s the quiet, creepy type. Necromancy, illusions, dreamwalking—she’s like something out of a gothic horror novel. She doesn’t talk much, but when she does, you listen. Wiccan says she has her own reasons for joining us, but I’m not sure I want to know what they are.

And then there’s me. Potions, glamours, and a little bit of everything else. I’m not as flashy as Rowan or as dark as Ivy, but I’m essential. At least, that’s what Wiccan tells me.

We have a plan. It’s risky, but if it works, Bellatrix is done. And when this is over, I’ll finally be back where I belong—in the spotlight, not as some punchline for Bellatrix insults.

Bellatrix POV

Training with Scott and Sabrina is exhausting. Magic takes precision; being a wolf is all instincts. Balancing the two is like trying to juggle fire and water.

“You’re too tense,” Scott says as I try (and fail) to land gracefully after shifting mid-air.

“I’m sorry,” I snap, brushing dirt off my jeans. “Didn’t realize I needed yoga lessons to transform.”

Scott sighs, the kind of sigh that says “Why do I even bother?” “You’ve got to let go, Bellatrix. Stop overthinking everything.”

“Oh, sure,” I say, rolling my eyes. “I’ll just turn off the part of my brain that’s screaming, ‘Don’t die!’ Easy.”

“Maybe sarcasm is your superpower,” he mutters.

“Finally! Someone gets me,” I retort.

Despite the banter, I can tell Scott cares. It’s annoying, but also kind of nice. Same goes for Sabrina. She’s overly earnest, but she’s got my back. Even Agatha, with her snarky remarks, seems invested in helping me.

Addison POV

“Are you sure about this?” Rowan asks, her sharp green eyes boring into Wiccan.

“Yes,” Wiccan replies, his tone cold. bellatrix is too powerful to be left alive.”

Rowan raises an eyebrow. “Dramatic much?”

“It’s not drama,” I interject. “It’s reality. She’s a werewitch hybrid. You know what that means.”

“Yeah,” Ivy says quietly, her voice like a whisper of wind. “It means she’s dangerous. But so are we.”

I glance at Wiccan, who’s staring into the distance, his jaw tight. He hasn’t told us everything—I can feel it. But for now, I’ll play along.

Bellatrix POV

Later that night, I collapse onto my bed, exhausted. Training sucks, but at least I’ve got Wyatt to distract me.

“Rough day?” he asks, handing me a soda.

“Scott and Sabrina are trying to kill me,” I say dramatically, flopping back onto the pillows.

Wyatt chuckles. “Pretty sure they’re trying to keep you alive.”

“Debatable,” I mutter, but I can’t help smiling.

Wyatt sits beside me, his expression softening. “You know you’re amazing, right? The way you’re handling all of this…it’s incredible.”

I snort. “Yeah, sure. Because almost burning down a forest during training is super impressive.”

“Hey,” he says, nudging me. “You’re doing your best. That’s all anyone can ask.”

For a moment, I let his words sink in. Maybe he’s right. Maybe I am stronger than I give myself credit for.

But as I drift off to sleep, one thought lingers: Wiccan is out there, and he’s coming for me.

Addison POV

Wiccan gathers us in the dimly lit room, his eyes blazing with determination.

“It’s time,” he says.

I exchange a glance with Rowan and Ivy. This is it—the moment we’ve been preparing for.

“Bellatrix won’t see it coming,” Rowan says confidently.

I nod, my heart pounding. Soon, everything will change.

And I’ll finally get my revenge.
