(Readers POV) (Mind)

As I tried to destroy all of the clones of me, more and more pain went into my head. I started to scream out in pain, but I couldn't even hear my own voice anymore. I stopped myself when I heard a howl. I can immediately tell that it's Sonia. I looked back and saw a subtle yellow glow in the black void I'm in now.

(Y/N): What is that?

Mind (Y/N): Does it matter? It shouldn't concern you. You'd probably just get in the way.

All of my clones said in unison. A blast of energy came from the yellow glow, destroying all of my clones in an instant, though they came back almost as quickly. This yellow energy feels so... Warm and comforting. I felt the chains around me get tighter, pulling me down to my knees.

(Sonia's POV)

I stared at (Y/N) as he just stared at me back. A burst of dark energy blow past me, but I didn't move an inch from it.

Sonia: This feeling...

I think it's because I'm using the Chaos Emeralds, but I can feel all the emotions (Y/N) is feeling from his energy. Rage, hatred, sadness, regret, fear.

Sonia: (Y/N)...

I felt bad now knowing exactly what he's feeling, but that just made me want to help stop this even more. (Y/N) dashed right at me and tried to punch me. I managed to catch his fist in my hand. He tried to push his fist forward, but I made sure that he wouldn't gain an inch.

Sonia: Hey, I'm here now. You don't have to lash out like this anymore.

He grunted and tried to kick me. I quickly dashed behind him to dodge the kick and grab his ankle on his other leg. I started to swing him around and threw him high up into the air. I dashed up to follow him. (Y/N) managed to recover and dashed down at me. We started to clash back and forth.

Sonia: There. Now that we are far away from everyone, we can really let loose.

I curled up into a ball and started to spin around (Y/N) at high speeds. He tried to hit me with energy spears, but I was too fast for them. I started to hit (Y/N) from all sides. He tried to counter attack me, but I would manage to get out of the way just in time. Right before I could hit him again, he screamed out and let a burst of dark energy. The energy knocked me back. As I tried to recover from the attack, (Y/N) dashed at me and punched me in the face, making me fly backwards.

Sonia: So we really aren't playing around anymore.

I started to spin in place to gain momentum. (Y/N) dashed at me and right before he could hit me, I kicked up, hitting him in the chin. He spun back from the impact of my kick. I dashed at him to attack again, but he teleported right before I could hit him. He was now behind me and kicked me forward. He teleported again and kicked me down towards the Mystic Ruins. I crashed through a waterfall, making a lot of water splash up.

Sonia: Ugh. Water...

I looked up and saw (Y/N) dashing right for me. I got ready for his attack and he teleported again. I kicked behind me, managing to kick (Y/N) in the stomach. A golden aura surrounded me as I Boosted away and going through the nearby jungle. I dodged the trees as I went forward. I started to hear a bunch of crashing noises behind me. I looked back and saw (Y/N) with dark energy surrounding him dashing straight through trees to follow me.

Sonia: You know, I'm pretty flattered by how much you want me!

He screamed and gained more speed, catching up to me.

Sonia: Chaos Control!

I froze time and went under (Y/N) and kicked him several times. I smirked and started to fly upward I looked down and saw (Y/N) managed to use Chaos Control himself to start moving in stopped time, but he got launched high up into the air from the force of all of my kicks. I started to follow him and we quickly went into space. He stopped himself and started to breathe heavily.

Sonia: Maybe now you want to take a break?

I crossed my arms and stared at him. (Y/N)'s body started to shake a lot as more and more dark energy poured out of his body. If I don't end this soon, his body might self destruct from all this energy escaping. I tried to dash forward, but (Y/N) locked eyes with me and let out a huge scream. More and more dark energy bursted out of his body in waves, knocking me back from each wave.

(Y/N): I'm worthless...

I heard his voice in my head, but (Y/N) didn't say that. Am I hearing his thoughts now from his attacks? I kept getting hit by more and more waves of energy, hearing more words fill my mind. They got louder with each wave.

(Y/N): I just hold people back... I can't do anything right... My family didn't want me... Why would anyone else want me around...?

I started to push through the waves of energy, trying to get closer to (Y/N).

Sonia: (Y/N)! You don't have to say any of those things! You don't hold anyone back! Stop saying false things about yourself!

Right before I could grab onto (Y/N), a large burst of dark energy blasted me away from him.

(Y/N): IT'S POINTLESS!!!

I grunted as I felt my head start to hurt from all the voices in my head. Before I could do anything, a small wave of energy blew past me. It didn't hurt or push me back at all and I can hear (Y/N)'s voice from it like all the other times, but it was quiet. Almost like a whimper.

(Y/N): ...I don't want to be alone...

I stared at (Y/N). I pointed my hand forward and let out a small wave of golden energy.

Sonia: You aren't alone. You have so many people in your life that care for you. Me and your friends are doing this because we care.

I said. My energy wave hit (Y/N), making sure that my words hit him too. (Y/N) actually stopped for a moment to look at me. Even if his eyes are completely white at the moment, I can tell that he can actually see me. I smiled at him.

Sonia: Finally got through to ya.

I saw all of the lingering dark energy came back to (Y/N) and surround him. The energy started to warp and wrap around (Y/N)'s arms and formed into sharp claws. He launched himself at me and tried to slash me with his newly made claws. I used my arms to block the attack. I felt some pain go through my arms. I heard his voice again.

(Y/N): I'm a burden... I don't help anyone...

Sonia: Is that really how you feel? Then I'll prove you wrong!

I quickly curled up into a ball and knocked (Y/N) away.

Sonia: Chaos Control!

I teleported to get behind (Y/N) and sent a wave of energy at him.

Sonia: You've help more times than you realize. Remember when you helped Tails find a Chaos Emerald for her Tornado 2? Or the time you helped her and Amy fight off against Eggman in the ARK?

The energy wave hit (Y/N), knocking him back. He shook his head and tried to dash up at me.

Sonia: Or how about the time you helped out Knuckles by bringing him a piece of the Master Emerald? Or when you helped convince Shadow to help us stop the ARK from crashing into earth?

I sent another wave of energy at him. (Y/N) got a bit knocked back from the wave.

Sonia: Do I even have to mention Blaze and Silver? You helped Silver avenge her future and helped Blaze get back to her own dimension.

I helped up my left hand, where I was still wearing the bracelet that Chip left behind.

Sonia: Chip wouldn't want to see you like this! Don't just fight for yourself! Fight for all the people that care about you!

(Y/N) stopped in place and looked down. I saw that tears started to leave his eyes and flowing down his cheeks. A wave of dark energy shot out from his claws and hit my body, but I managed to stay in place.

(Y/N): How can you say all of that when I've made just as many mistakes?

Sonia: You are more than your mistakes. I know you can get past these feelings. I've seen it before. You're strong enough to push past those mistakes. You don't have to cling to this darkness anymore. And if you aren't strong enough, then let me and your friends help you too. That's what friends are for.

(Y/N) started to hold his head and his body shaking again. A constant burst of dark energy started to come out of his body and hit me. I made sure to make an effort to not get pushed back. I started to slowly push forward towards (Y/N). More and more tears came from his eyes

(Y/N): I don't want to be abandoned again! I don't want to lose people again!

I heard in my mind. I saw (Y/N) dash forward at me with more tears coming from his eyes and tried to slash at my head. I moved my head to the side, dodging the slash. I put my arms forward and went as close as I could to (Y/N), pressing my body against his. I wrapped my arms around him in a hug. I felt his body shaking, but it started to slow down.

Sonia: I would never abandon you. I love you too much to ever even think about doing something like that. Your friends wouldn't ever do that either. You know it's true, it's just all that negative energy inside you making you think these ridiculous things.

I felt him wrap his arms around me tightly, joining the hug. I locked lips with him and started to fill (Y/N) with my energy to counter all of the negative energy he has. We both started to slowly descend down to the ground. As we were about to land on the ground at Mystic Ruins, the Chaos Emeralds appeared around me and (Y/N). I was no longer in my Super form and (Y/N) wasn't in his dark form either. We both gently landed on the ground and the Chaos Emeralds scattered across the planet. I broke the kiss and looked at (Y/N). He looked at me and locked eyes with me.

Sonia: There we go. Now I can see those gorgeous eyes of yours.

(Y/N): ...S-Sonia... I-I...

I just gave him a gentle smile and wiped the tears off his face.

Sonia: It's over now. You can stop worrying. I'm not going anywhere.

He stared at me for a moment before resting his head on my shoulder and hugged me tighter.

(Y/N): ...Thanks...
