(Sonia's POV)

Me and Shadow raised a hand into the air as the 7 Chaos Emeralds came down from their pillars to us. The emeralds started to swirl around me and Shadow. The Chaos Emeralds went into our bodies and surrounded us in a golden light. When the light disappeared, me and Shadow are now in our super forms.

Sonia: Now I'm sure we can stop all this!

Me and Shadow quickly flew out of space colony and are now flying out into space. I saw the prototype is attached to the front of the ARK, falling down towards earth. I heard my walkie talkie turn on.

Eggman: Sonia! Shadow! Can you hear me? He's very weak without his life support system. Aim for the red swelling area to damage him! You're our last hope!

Sonia: Thanks for the advice!

I started to dash forward towards the prototype. His body started to make some small balls that float around him. The balls started to shoot out at me. I flew around to dodge the balls and saw a swelling area on the prototype's body and dashed into it, destroying it. It shrieked in pain.

Sonia: Shadow! Get the other side!

Shadow nodded at me and flew over to get to the other side of the prototype.

Shadow: Here I come, you creep!

She started to dash at the prototype. It started to shoot out a laser from his back at Shadow, making her dodge the laser and fly over and hit another swelling area.

Shadow: Alright, this is working. Sonia?! How are you doing?!

Sonia: We almost got it!

The prototype let out a screech as it shot multiple lasers at me. I got hit by one of the beams, knocking me back a bit.

Sonia: You aren't going to get away with this!

He continued to shoot laser beams at me and even started to shoot out the balls at me too. Shadow flew over to me and launched several spears out of her hands, destroying the balls. I gave her a quick thumbs up and dashed ahead, barely dodging the lasers and hitting the prototype again. I looked back at Shadow and noticed the energy around her body getting smaller.

Sonia: Shadow! Your power is getting weaker! Hey, are you okay?

She just nodded at me. The prototype started to shoot out a ton of lasers and balls in all directions. Looks like he's getting desperate. The attacks hit me and Shadow, knocking us back.

Shadow: Maria... Watch me. I will fulfill your wish!

Sonia: Come on Shadow! Let's end this creep already!

Me and Shadow started to fly at the prototype, dodging his attacks. We both started to spin in a ball really fast and dashed right through the prototype. He started to scream out as his body started to glow and blew up. His body got destroyed, leaving no trace behind.

Shadow: That fake is finally gone.

I saw that the space colony continued to fall down, getting flames around it as it started to enter earth's atmosphere.

Sonia: Come on Shadow! We need to stop the colony now!

Me and Shadow started to fly right at the colony, getting ready to stop it.

Sonia: No way that's getting through!

Shadow: Sonia! We are going to need to use all the energy we can!

I saw her reach to her wrist and took of the rings off her wrists, causing the energy around her body to get bigger. Me and Shadow got really close to the falling colony.

Sonia: Now Shadow!

We turned to face each other and put our hands near each other. A ball of yellow energy started to form.

Sonia and Shadow: Chaos Control!

The yellow ball of energy quickly expanded to surround the entirety of the space colony ARK. The energy warped the space colony back up into space, where it wasn't falling anymore. I let out a sigh as I felt my energy start to drain.

Sonia: I need to get back onto the colony. Shadow?

I looked around and saw Shadow falling down towards the earth. Her eyes are closed as the golden glow of her body started to fade away.

Sonia: Shadow!

I flew down trying to catch her, but she was quickly falling down to earth. I had to stop when I felt my super form start to weaken.

Sonia: I'm sorry... Shadow...

I saw one of the rings that was on Shadow's wrists. I grabbed it and quickly flew back to the ARK and entered it. I lost my super form moments later. The Chaos Emeralds left the space colony and returned back to earth. I started to walk over to the room where everyone else was. The door opened up and I saw everyone. They all turned to look at me.

Rouge: Where's Shadow?

I stayed silent and walked up to her, handing her the ring that was Shadow's.

Rouge: Do you really think... That the professor created her, Shadow, to carry out the revenge on all those who live on earth?

Sonia: She was what she was. A brave and heroic hedgehog, who gave her life to save this planet. Shadow the Hedgehog.

Rouge: I guess you're right...

She walked off. I stared out of the window, down at the planet earth. It really is a beautiful sight. I started to think about what happened today.

Sonia: Created... The ultimate life form...

I said to myself. I heard some footsteps behind me getting closer.

(Y/N): Hey Sonia... Are you feeling good?

I looked over at (Y/N) as he looked at me with some concern.

Sonia: Oh, it's nothing. Come on! Let's go home! To the planet as cool and blue as me!

(Y/N): Yeah, I think that would be a good thing.

I saw everyone start to leave the room, getting ready to leave the space colony. I started to walk out of the room, but stopped myself when I reached the door. I looked back, looking at the planet through the windows.

Sonia: Sayonara, Shadow the Hedgehog.

I left the room. After all of this, I can definitely use a small break.

(1 Week Later) (Readers POV)

It's been about a week since the stuff about the space colony happened. Knuckles took his Master Emerald and went back to Angel Island. Tails is at her workshop working on a bunch of gadgets and whatever. I'm not sure what Sonia is doing, all I know is she is running somewhere. I am walking through a city, trying to find a shop to buy some things.

(Y/N): Sonia...

I do wonder what she's doing. I'm sure she's fine, but after going on some of these adventures with her and her friends, they definitely can get more dangerous than I thought. I saw a store and walked into it.

(Y/N): Hmm...

As I walked through the store, for some reason I started to think about what Sonia would like. Yeah, I should buy her something! It would be nice and thank her for saving my life from that space colony stuff. As I walked, I looked at the stuff on the shelves. I bumped into someone, making me stop.

(Y/N): Oh, I'm so sorry.

I saw that the person I bumped into is Amy.

Amy: I wasn't expecting to run into you here (Y/N). But watch where you're going!

(Y/N): Hehe, my bad. So what are you doing here?

Amy: I'm here buying something's for my friend Cream and her chao Cheese.

(Y/N): I haven't met them yet.

Amy: They are nice, you'll think they are the cutest things ever! So what are you doing here?

(Y/N): Oh me? I'm just getting some stuff...

Maybe Amy can help me pick something out for Sonia. Amy has known Sonia for way longer than me.

(Y/N): Hey Amy. If you have the time, you want to help me with picking something out?

Amy: Picking something out? You're looking to buy someone something?

(Y/N): I was here to buy some stuff for myself, but I figured I can buy something for them too.

Amy: That's very sweet of you! So who are you giving the gift?

I started to think about Sonia when Amy asked me that. As I was thinking about her, I noticed Amy smiling at me and putting her hands over her mouth.

(Y/N): Uh... Are you okay, Amy?

Amy: I know exactly what's going on!

(Y/N): You do?

Amy: Just now, you were thinking about who was going to receive your gift!

I nodded my head at her, not sure where she is going with this.

Amy: I saw that genuine smile you had on your face and the wagging of your tail!

I looked back at my wolf tail.

(Y/N): It was wagging?

I guess I was doing that stuff subconsciously.

Amy: That's right! You're in love!

I looked at Amy as my face started to heat up.

(Y/N): D-Don't be ridiculous!

Amy: Now I'm 100% sure of it! So who's the lucky person?! You have to tell me!

I turned back and started to wave at Amy.

(Y/N): Y-You got it all wrong!

Amy pouted and pointed a finger at me.

Amy: My heart is never wrong! I know you have the feeling of love in your heart! Tell me who you are head over heels for!

(Y/N): It's no one!

Amy: If you won't tell me, then I'll have to guess! It can't be me, you would've been flustered the moment you saw me. Is it Tails? She is letting you live with her.

(Y/N): Well would you look at the time! I need to get going now! I'll talk to ya later Amy!

I started to walk away, wanting to be away from this embarrassment.

Amy: Hmm... Is it Sonia?

I stopped and felt my heart start to beat faster and my face heat up more. I heard Amy gasp.

Amy: Did I guess right?!

I put my hands in my pockets and just nodded my head. Amy walked up to me and got in front of me.

Amy: Why didn't you tell me sooner?!

(Y/N): I just didn't want to embarrass myself more, especially in front of one of her friends.

Amy: You don't have to worry about that kind of stuff with me. I know just what you can do to start you love train rolling!

(Y/N): You... Do?

Amy: Yep! Sonia really loves a good chili dog! You give her one and I'm sure she'll understand your feelings!

(Y/N): Amy... That sounds ridiculous...

Amy let out a sigh and put her hands on my face, forcing me to look at her in the eyes.

Amy: Do you love Sonia?

(Y/N): Y-Yeah.

Amy: Are you willing to do anything for her?

(Y/N): Yeah.

Amy: So it shouldn't matter how ridiculous something is.

Amy let go of my face.

(Y/N): Man, I guess you are right Amy.

Amy: When it comes to love, I am right! So now let's set up a date for you and Sonia!

She grabbed my arm and started to drag me behind her.

(Y/N): Wait, you mean right now?!

(Time Skip)

I am sitting at a table outside of some kind of restaurant. I have two chili dogs in front of me. I looked back and saw Amy hiding in a nearby bush.

(Y/N): Are you sure this is going to work?

Amy: It will, I promise! Now call Sonia over!

I pulled out my phone and called the number Amy gave me. After a few rings, the call answered.

Sonia: Hello? Who is this?

(Y/N): Hey Sonia! It's me, (Y/N).

Sonia: Oh, how's it going, (Y/N)?

(Y/N): Nothing much really... Are you free right now?

Sonia: Yeah, I guess I don't have much going on right now. Why? Is something up?

I looked back at Amy, who peaked out of the bush and gave me two thumbs up.

(Y/N): Well... I was wondering if you wanted to hang out.

Sonia: Alright. I'm down. Where you at? I'll come to ya.

I told Sonia where I was at and she hung up the call. After a few seconds, I felt some wind blow past me and I saw Sonia sitting on the other side of the table. I felt my tail start to wag seeing her.

(Y/N): O-Oh! That was fast.

Sonia: It's what I do. I gotta say, weird choice of a hangout spot.

(Y/N): This? It was just the closet place that I figured you'd know where it was.

I laughed a bit to myself. I handed Sonia one of the chili dogs.

Sonia: Thanks a lot for this!

(Y/N): Yeah, no problem.

She took a bite out of the chili dog and I saw her start to smile from the taste. I started to eat mine too. I quickly looked back at Amy, and she started to signal to me to go forward.

(Y/N): So... Uh. How has your day been?

I asked in a bit of an awkward tone, not even sure if I'm saying the right things. Sonia started to give me a skeptical look.

Sonia: Okay, out with it.

(Y/N): O-Out with what?

Sonia: You're clearly trying to get me in a good mood, giving me a chili dog. Do you need a favor? You don't have to go through all this stuff to ask me for something.

(Y/N): Uuummm...

I glanced back at Amy and she gave me a thumbs up. I looked back at Sonia and let out a sigh.

(Y/N): I just wanted to say thank you for everything. No one has ever done the things you've done for me... So I wanted to make it up to you, even if it's something small like some food.

Sonia looked at me for a moment before smiling at me. She finished eating her chili dog and got up and walked over to me. She playfully punched my shoulder.

Sonia: It's no problem man. I appreciate the kind gesture! Especially my stomach does! So, anything else you want to tell me?

I looked at Sonia as my heart started to beat a bit faster. This is my chance to ask her out, but when I tried to ask it feels like my throat tightens up.

(Y/N): ...N-No. That was everything.

Sonia nodded her head at me.

Sonia: If another adventure starts to happen, I'll let ya tag along again if you want.

(Y/N): S-Sure.

Sonia ran off, leaving me alone at the table. I let out a groan, put my hands on my head, and slammed my head on the table. I heard Amy get out of the bush and ran over to me.

Amy: What happened? You were doing so good!

(Y/N): I don't know! I tried to ask her, but my voice refused to come out! I didn't know what to say! That was my chance and I blew it!

Amy put her hand on my back and patted it.

Amy: This won't be your only chance.

(Y/N): Are you sure?

Amy: Of course I'm sure! Next time, just let your heart say what it wants to say to her.

I let out a long sigh. If only it was that easy.

(Y/N): Thanks for the help Amy.
