Blaine and Sam see that there's a signup sheet on the bulletin board for Grease auditions.
"Auditions are tomorrow. As president and vice president, we can pretty much decree which ever parts we want, right?" Sam asks.
Blaine sighs. "I'm not sure I'm gonna do the musical this year. I'm not in the right headspace to do a project like Grease. Since Charlie and I broke up, I haven't slept, I lost my appetite. I don't even gel on weekends."
"This is pretty serious, then." Sam says.
Blaine sighs sadly. "Sam, Charlie was my soulmate. We talked about spending the rest of our lives together. About retiring in Provincetown and buying a lighthouse and starting an artists' colony. And now he won't even return my calls. He won't text me. Hell, he won't even talk to me or sit by me in glee club. He's gone. Maybe forever." He laments.
Sam sighs and pats Blaine's shoulder. "Dude, I get it, except for the lighthouse part. But look, everybody's been there. You'll get through it."
Blaine walks with Sam down the hall when he glimpses at the back of Charlie's head.
Blaine couldn't help but cry all the time. He had something good with Charlie. And that something good was ruined in seconds because of Blaine.
Blaine never wanted to be forgiven.

Violet opens her locker with Charlie standing next to her. "I'm thinking of auditioning for Rizzo, but I have no idea what song I want to sing for my audition."
Charlie shrugs. "You'd kill any song you could sing. Artie would love it; I mean, you auditioned for West Side Story with an Evanescence song." He says softly.
Violet looks back to one of her gay best friends and frowns. "Crap. I'm sorry. Here I am talking about a musical when you're still going through your breakup. Tell you what? I'm not auditioning."
Charlie raises an eyebrow at her. "And have you miss the chance of a lifetime to be Rizzo in Grease? No way. You and I are going over to my house after school, and we're going to pilfer through every song I have until we find your audition song."
Violet smiles sadly. "Are you sure you want to do this? We don't have to."
Charlie gives her a smile. "I want to. Anything to take my mind off of Blaine."

Violet walks into Charlie's house with a smile. "It's been a minute since I've been to your house." She says.
Charlie laughs gently. "Yeah it has been." He agrees.
Suddenly, Margaret Smythe walks into the room. "Oh Charlie, why didn't you tell me you were having Violet over?"
(Margaret Smythe)
Charlie smiles a bit. "I kinda invited her over at the last minute, Mom. I'm gonna help her choose an audition song for Grease."
Margaret smiles. "Well I'll leave you two to it then. Charlie dear, let me steal the girl away for a minute."
Charlie nods and disappears upstairs while Margaret brings Violet into the main sitting room.
"Tea?" Margaret asks.
Violet shakes her head. "No ma'am."
Margaret sits next to Violet and sees the glimmer of the girl's engagement ring. "Who's the lucky man?"
Violet smiles. "Kurt Hummel. My lifelong best friend. He proposed on his graduation day." She explains.
"Well I truly hope he makes you happy because you deserve it sweetheart." Margaret says.
Violet smiles. "Thank you Ms. Smythe."
Margaret nods and sighs. "I have no doubt you heard about Charlie breaking up with that Blaine boy."
Violet nods. "Yes ma'am, he told me about what happened. I'm going to make sure Charlie feels as comfortable as possible at school and in glee club until Charlie feels like he can hold a conversation with Blaine without wanting to cry or kill him."
Margaret smiles. "I know you will."

After conversing with Margaret, Violet walks up to Charlie's room and opens the door. Charlie's just sitting there on his bed, head in his hands.
"Lee? You wanna talk about it?" Violet asks as she sits next to him.
Charlie shakes his head. "No. I'll be okay. It's time to pick out your audition song." He says and makes his way to the CD rack.
Violet knows better than to push Charlie about this, so she doesn't ask him anything else about his recent breakup with Blaine.
After about 15 minutes, Charlie gives a groan of frustration. "I have absolutely no idea what song I have that you could sing for your audition."
Violet spots a Faith Hill CD. "Hey Lee. What about Faith Hill?"
Charlie's eyes widen. "You are a genius and I love you."
Violet smiles. "I love you too. Ooh... perfect song choice." She says as she points to a song.
Charlie nods. "It'll be perfect with your voice."

The next day after school, Violet waits in the wings of the stage. She's waiting to be called for her audition.
"Next!" Artie says.
Violet exhales deeply and walks onstage, surprised to see Artie in the audience with Finn, Mike, and Mercedes.
"Hi!" Violet waves to her friends. Mike and Mercedes wave back.
"I'm Violet Corcoran, and I'll be auditioning for the role of Rizzo." Violet says.
Mercedes smiles brightly. "Great. Just sing whenever you're ready." She encourages.
Violet performs Faith Hill's 'Breathe.'
[Breathe by Violet]
When she's done, she gets applause from all four of her friends.
"That was outstanding!" Mike applauds.
"You go girl!" Mercedes cheers.
"Yeah Violet!" Artie celebrates.
Finn's cheer is the loudest.
"That's my little sister!"

Violet calls Kurt immediately after she gets home.
"Hey baby." Kurt says happily.
Violet smiles. "Hi. Okay guess what I just did!"
"What'd you do?" Kurt asks.
"I auditioned for Rizzo! We're doing Grease as our fall musical!" Violet says.
She can practically hear Kurt's jaw drop. "Oh my God! Baby I'm so proud of you. Rachel! Rachel! Your sister auditioned for Rizzo!" Kurt says.
"What?! Oh my God!" Rachel's voice becomes louder as she walks towards Kurt.
"Violet? You guys are doing Grease?" Rachel asks.
Violet nods. "Yeah. Artie's directing again this year, and he has Finn as a co-director. Mercedes and Mike are back to help too." She explains.
She gets radio silence. Most likely because she said Finn's name.
"So um... what-what song did you audition with? You gotta tell us." Kurt says.
"Breathe by Faith Hill." Violet answers.
"That's a bold song choice. Did you do well?" Rachel asks.
"Yeah. I did really well Rachel." Violet answers.
"Look baby, we have to go, but call me when the cast list goes up okay? I wanna know if you make it or not." Kurt says.
"I will, I promise. I love you guys so much!" Violet says.
"We love you too!"

Finn sighs as he sits in the choir room with Mercedes, Mike and Artie.
"Okay, we need to do that thing where we call people back. What's that called?" He asks.
"Callbacks." Artie inputs.
"I don't know. I feel like Kitty has the inside track on Sandy." Mercedes states.
"Sandy can't be brunette." Artie comments.
"Oh, like Maria couldn't be black?" Mercedes bites back.
"That was a year ago, Mercedes. Let it go." Mike tells her.
"Okay, so we call back all the Sandys and the Dannys. What about the rest?" Artie asks.
"Brittany for Cha Cha, she's the best dancer." Finn immediately says.
"You know, Tina would make a great Jan. It's too bad she won't audition because she refuses to be in the same room with Mike." Artie says.
"Okay, what about Rizzo?" Mercedes interjects.
"Now, I know it's way outside of the box, but I like Unique for it. He wants it so badly. He's the best singer, too." Finn remarks.
"So, we cast a brunette as Sandy and a guy as Rizzo." Artie mumbles.
"Well what about Violet? She could play Rizzo just as good as Unique could." Mercedes says.
Finn nods. "Yeah, Violet's super talented, and I don't want to disappoint her by not giving her a role."
"Okay, if this is going to become another Mercedes/Rachel Maria-off, I need to prepare a song for them to do." Artie says.
"Why not just double-cast Rizzo like you guys did with Maria?" Mike asks.
Artie and Finn nod. "We like that idea. It'll give both teens their chances to shine." Artie decides.
"Think about how cool it would be to do something really different." Finn recalls.
"Though I don't agree with your choices, I appreciate your passion. It's nice to have the old Finn back." Artie says.
Finn smiles. "It's nice to be the old me."

Violet's at her locker when she sees this guy standing next to her with Justin Bieber-like hair. "Um... a little word of advice: if you're staring, a girl will feel uncomfortable." She says.
The boy breaks out of his daze. "Oh I'm sorry. I didn't realize I was. I'm Ryder Lynn." Ryder introduces.
Violet smiles. "Nice to meet you. I'm Violet Corcoran."
Ryder smiles and then sees her engagement ring. "I see you're engaged. Congratulations." He says.
Violet smiles more. "Thank you; we're thinking of getting married this upcoming summer."
Ryder nods. "That's cool. So... do you know Finn Hudson?" He asks.
"He's going to be my brother-in-law, so yes. Also we were in glee club for 3 years together," Violet answers.
"He had me audition for Grease, and he said I should get to know my future cast mates." Ryder tells her.
Violet smiles. "That's cool that Finn got you to audition. What role did you audition for?"
Ryder smiles. "Danny Zuko."
Violet sees Marley at her locker. "Hey you see that girl at her locker down the hall?" She asks, motioning towards Marley.
Ryder nods. "Yeah."
"Go talk to her. Her name is Marley, and she's one of the top contenders for Sandy." Violet says.
Ryder nods. "Thanks Violet. I'll go talk to her right now." He says and makes his way over to Marley.
Violet smiles as she closes her locker. "I'm happy Finn found Artie his Danny Zuko."

Unique and Violet walk into the choir room to meet up with Finn.
"Hey. I came to talk to you about the play. I get it. I heard about Coach Sylvester's meltdown." Unique says.
Finn smiles. "I want to offer you both the part."
"But what about Coach Sue?" Violet asks.
"Well, Coach Sue isn't directing the play. I am. So now all you two got to worry about is getting curly wigs and learning the words to 'There Are Worse Things I Could Do.'" Finn states. "And I'll take care of Coach Sue or anybody else who might try and stop us."
"Unique knows the song and has the wig." Unique says.
Violet nods. "And I totally know all the words to the song. I just gotta find a wig." She replies.
Finn nods. "Good."
Violet looks to Unique. "You okay?"
Unique sighs. "I don't feel right in the men's locker room. But I can't go into the girls'. And I don't feel right in men's clothing, but I can't wear dresses every day. It sucks to never know your place. It's just nice, for once, to feel like I've found one."
Finn nods. "Yeah, it is. Well, uh...before I post the cast list, I just need to know that you're both ready for this. Violet remembers when Mercedes quit the glee club after the double-casting of Maria in West Side Story, but I want to make sure you're both okay with this decision. Especially you, Unique. 'Cause there's gonna be a lot of heat on you, and like I said, I can shield you from some of it, but... At the end of the day, you're gonna be the one out on that stage."
Violet smiles as she wraps an arm around Unique's arms. "We'll be okay Finn. If anyone gives my girl any trouble, I'll kick their ass." Violet says proudly.
Unique smiles, happy to have a friend as fierce and loyal as Violet. "I'm so glad we're friends," Unique says.
Finn chuckles. "All right, all right."

When the cast list goes up, the New Directions gather around it and smile as they find their names.
Kitty makes her way to the cast list and she looks appalled.
"Patty Simcox? Patty Simcox? Who the hell is Patty Simcox?"

Violet gets home and immediately FaceTimes Kurt to tell him about her big news.
Kurt answers the FaceTime and shows his fiancée a smile. "Hey there gorgeous." He greets.
Violet's smile is big and wide. "Hey hot stuff. So... the cast list went up!" She announces.
Kurt immediately goes to sit next to Rachel. "Rachel! Violet's on the phone — she told me the cast list went up." Kurt tells Violet's sister.
Rachel drops whatever she's doing and looks to the phone screen. "Tell us what part you're playing! Tell us, tell us, tell us!" Rachel begs.
Violet smiles excitedly. "Unique and I are double-casted as Rizzo!"
Kurt and Rachel cheer... very loudly on the other end of the call.
"Oh my God! My baby sister's going to play Rizzo! I'm so proud!" Rachel congratulates.
"Baby I'm so so so proud of you. I love you so much and I wish I was there to just hug you and kiss you. My fiancée's going to be the leader of the Pink Ladies!" Kurt squeals.
Violet blushes. "Thanks guys. When Finn told me and Unique he was double-casting Rizzo, Unique and I promised to alternate between shows. I'm giving him the opening night show."
Kurt and Rachel smile proudly. "We are so proud of you! Not just for getting the part, but your willingness to be a good friend to Unique. You're a beautiful soul baby. Everyone needs a friend like you in their lives." Kurt comments.
Violet blushes and smiles at Kurt's words.
"We'll see you at the show! We love you!" Rachel says.
"I love you guys too!"
