Santana and the other glee girls are talking about prom. Lauren's having trouble finding a prom dress.
"You're up for Queen, you can't make your own prom dress. Prom is like our Oscars. It's seriously, like, the most important night of our lives." Santana says.
Lauren furrows her eyebrows. "What about getting married?"
Quinn sighs. "Oh, you can get married as many times as you want. You only have one shot at your Junior Prom."
Mercedes arrives. "What are you guys talking about?"
Lauren answers. "Prom dresses."
Mercedes smiles. "Thank God I don't have to worry about that. I'm not going."
Kurt looks confused. "Why not?"
Mercedes shrugs. "'Cause nobody's asked me."
Will is standing in front of whiteboard in choir room. 'PROM' is written on the board.
"Alright, guys – prom." Will says.
Sam groans. "Please tell me we're not doing songs about prom."
Will shakes his head. "Nope – we are the prom. Figgins has asked us to perform."
Rachel smiles. "Let's do Run Joey Run."
Violet raises an eyebrow. "I don't think that's the best song choice."
Will continues. "Now, I know this isn't ideal with Nationals coming up, but we really don't have a choice. And, we could really use the money. But I know that prom is a special rite of passage. I want to make sure that all of you guys get a chance to enjoy the dance, too. So we're gonna stag at the performances so that each and every one of you has a lot of time to dance with your dates."
Mercedes stands up. "Excuse me." She says.
Mercedes leaves the choir room.
Will looks to the others. "Is she okay?"
Quinn sighs. "Mercedes doesn't have a date for prom."
Brittany shrugs. "So? I don't have a date. I'm just going to dance. And then all of your dates are gonna ignore you and come dance with me, so...your dates are really my dates."
Kurt gets up. "I'm gonna go talk to Mercedes."
Rachel shakes her head. "No, let me."
Rachel leaves the choir room.
Violet gives Kurt a longing look.

Violet and Kurt are cuddling in Kurt's room when he suddenly sits up. "Baby I have a question for you." He says.
Violet sits up. "You can ask me anything."
Kurt smiles and takes her hands in his own. "Violet Corcoran... will you go to prom with me?"
Violet smiles brightly and kisses him. Kurt kisses back, and when they pull away, Kurt looks dazed. "So is that a yes?"
Violet giggles. "Yes, I'll go to prom with you. But you don't get to see my prom dress, and I don't get to see your prom outfit either. I want us both to be surprised."
Kurt smiles. "Yes ma'am."
Violet giggles.
"And by the way... Quinn wants me to get ready for prom with her at her house."

Charlie and Blaine are having dinner at Breadstix.
"Give me your hand." Charlie says and takes Blaine's hand. "Blaine Warbler, will you go to junior prom with me?"
Blaine looks a bit worried. "Prom?"
Charlie nods. "It'll be the social event of the season." He says. He sees Blaine's worried expression, and his face falls. "You don't want to go to prom with me?" He asks. Charlie pulls his hand away from Blaine's.
Blaine shakes his head. "No, no, no, of course, of course I want to go with you! It's just...prom."
Charlie cocks his head to the side. "What about prom, Blaine?"
Blaine sighs. "At my old school, there was a Sadie Hawkins dance, and...I had just come out. So I asked a friend of mine, the only other gay guy in the school. While we were waiting for his dad to pick us up, these three guys, um, beat the living crap out of us."
Charlie looks crestfallen. "I...I-I'm so sorry."
"I'm...I'm out and I'm proud and all, this is just still a bit of a sore spot." Blaine explains.
"This is perfect. You couldn't face up to the bullies at your school, so you can do it at mine. We could do it together. But I have to say, Blaine, that if it makes you uncomfortable at all, we'll just forget about prom. We'll go to a movie instead." Charlie says.
Blaine smiles. "I am crazy about you."
"So I'll take that as a yes?" Charlie asks.
Blaine smiles. "Yes." Charlie jumps excitedly in his seat. "You and I are going to the prom."
Charlie nods. "Mhm, mhm."

Karofsky is walking Kurt and Violet to French class dressed in his Bully Whips attire. "Here we are, third period. French class. I'm going to Calculus, so wait inside the classroom after the bell rings until I get back to walk you to lunch."
Kurt looks a bit happier. "Have you noticed that no one has said 'boo' to me this week?"
Karofsky nods. "'Cause the Bully Whips are protecting you and Violet."
Kurt nods. "Maybe. But maybe no one has been harassing me this week because no one cares."
"You're dreaming." Karofsky says.
"Okay, look. I'm not saying that everyone in this school is ready to embrace the gay, but maybe at least they've evolved enough to be indifferent. I see how miserable you are, Dave. I could just hate you when you were bullying me, but now, all I see is your pain. And you don't have to torture yourself like this. I'm not saying you should come out tomorrow, but maybe soon the moment will arise when you can." Kurt says.
Karofsky begins to bring himself to tears.
Violet immediately grows concerned. "What's wrong?" She asks.
Karofsky starts crying and takes his hat off. "I'm so...I'm so freaking sorry, Kurt. I'm just so sorry for what I did to you."
Kurt nods. "I know, I know." He says.
Karofsky recollects himself. "Cool. Thanks. Remember, you'll wait for me here, right?" He says. Violet gives Karofsky a nod as he walks off and Kurt enters their classroom.

It's prom night. Quinn is fixing Violet's hair while Violet plays with her thumbs.
(Violet's prom outfit)
"You look like a princess. Kurt's going to have a hard time keeping his eyes and hands off of you tonight." Quinn states.
Violet blushes. "You think so?" She asks.
Quinn finishes Violet's hair and places the small tiara on her head. "I know so."
Quinn is dressed in a light blue prom dress with sheer straps and sparkles on the bust.
Judy Fabray calls the girls from downstairs. "Quinnie! Violet! Your dates are here!"
Violet and Quinn look at each other with big smiles.
"Let's do this thing!" Violet says.
Quinn walks down the staircase slowly. Finn and Kurt smile at her.
Quinn smiles at Finn and Kurt. "You both look great."
Finn smiles. "You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen in my life." He compliments. Quinn smiles and walks closer to Finn. "I, uh...I got you a wrist corsage." Finn says. He opens a gold box with a bow on top and Quinn's corsage inside. Her corsage is gardenia with a light green ribbon. He hands it to Quinn.
Quinn smiles. "It matches my eyes."
Finn smiles. "I know." He says. Quinn leans in to kiss Finn, but they are interrupted when Kurt makes a gasping sound. The couple turn around to see what's caught his attention.
It's not a what, it's a who.

Violet shyly makes her way out of Quinn's room, and stands at the staircase. She sees Kurt is wearing a green kilt, which she adores; it's Kurt-centric.
Violet gracefully makes her way downstairs in the Fabray house, and smiles when she is face-to-face with Kurt.
"You look very handsome." Violet says softly.
"I... um, you-you look... wow." Kurt stumbles over his words.
Finn chuckles. "You have him at a loss for words. That's guy talk for 'you're hot.'" He translates.
Kurt just nods wordlessly. How did he manage to win over the heart of the sexiest girl in the world?
"My girlfriend is a real-life princess."

When the two couples walk into the gym, they have everyone's attention. More or less of the attention was focused on Quinn and Violet. The girls have their heads held high as they strut in their dresses.
One thing's for sure: they were two badass bitches.

Puck, Sam, and Artie are onstage singing Rebecca Black's 'Friday.'
[Friday by Puck, Sam and Artie]
All the students have a good time dancing together.
Brittany smiles. "Best prom ever!"
= = =
Rachel is on stage signing 'Jar of Hearts.'
[Jar of Hearts by Rachel]
The students pair off and slow dance with each other. Finn and Rachel share meaningful looks throughout the whole song.
Violet is sharing a dance with Kurt, who's loving every second of tonight.
During the number, Charlie and Blaine are standing, watching the rest of the students dance.
"Isn't it great that the prom is so inclusive this year?" Charlie asks.
Blaine nods. "There's someone for everyone." He says.
Charlie sighs. "Even if it's a lie."
Santana and Karofsky are dancing together.

Couples are dancing. Tina and Mike are kissing while slow dancing and Brittany is seen dancing with a female student.
Violet smiles as she takes Kurt's hand, seeing Quinn looking lonely. Finn and Jesse had been kicked out of the prom for fighting.
"I feel bad for Quinn. Her boyfriend's been kicked out of prom, and she really wanted to win prom queen." Violet says.
Kurt nods. "Why don't we make her feel better?" He offers.
Violet smiles. "I like the way you think." She says and they walk over to the lonely Quinn.
"Hey Q, dance with Kurt. No one should be alone at prom." Violet says.
Quinn gives her an uneasy smile. "I'm good. He's your date."
Violet smiles as she takes Brittany's hand. "No, right now it's Brittany." She says.
Brittany perks up. "Let's go dance Violet." She says and drags the sophomore away to dance.
Leaving Quinn and Kurt to dance.
"You're a very good dancer." Quinn comments.
Kurt smiles. "Thank you. You're also a wonderful dancer Quinn."
"Can I ask you a question?" Quinn asks. Kurt nods.
Quinn smiles as she sees Brittany and Violet dancing together. "Do you see yourself marrying Violet in the future?"
Kurt has a bright smile.
"I do."

Figgins walks up to the microphone after the song is over. "Will the candidates for king and queen gather on the stage?" He asks. The candidates all walk onto the stage.
"The votes are in. This is the moment you've all been waiting for, where we announce our Junior Prom King and also Prom Queen. Roll the drum, please. This year's Junior Prom King is..." Figgins pulls the name out of an envelope. "David Karofsky!" Figgins announces.
The crowd cheers.
Santana smirks at Quinn. "You suck so bad, Quinn Fabray. I won!"
Figgins crowns Karofsky and hands him a scepter. Karofsky holds up his scepter proudly.
Figgins holds the envelope with the name of the prom queen inside. "And now, your 2011 McKinley High Prom Queen..." Figgins pulls the name out of an envelope. "With an overwhelming number of write-in votes is..." Figgins looks solemn.
"Kurt Hummel."
The crowd is silent except for a few whoops, hollers, and claps.
Kurt looks shocked and hurt. All the other glee clubbers look shocked as well. Kurt runs out of the gym, and Violet follows.
"Kurt, stop. Kurt!"

Violet catches up with her boyfriend. "Stop, stop! Kurt! Please, just stop, come on."
Kurt stops running and turns around. He has tears in his eyes.
"Don't you get how stupid we were? We had thought that, because no one was teasing us or beating us up, that no one cared. Like some kind of progress had been made. But it's still the same." Kurt says.
"It's just a stupid joke." Violet comments.
Kurt shakes his head. "No, it's not. All that hate, and they were just afraid to say it out loud. So they did it by secret ballot. I'm one big, anonymous practical joke. I'm not going back in there. No way."
Violet and Kurt are in the hallway. Violet is sitting on the ground against a locker and Kurt is pacing back and forth.
Violet looks up. "Would you at least sit down?" She asks. Kurt stops but begins pacing again. Violet sighs. "Do you wanna go? We don't have to go back in there."
"Wasn't this prom supposed to be about having the best night of our lives and being young? Now I've become the joke of the school." Kurt says sadly.
Violet looks at Kurt seriously. "So what do you wanna do?"
Kurt sighs. "I'm gonna go back in there and get coronated. I'm gonna show them that it doesn't matter if they are yelling at me or whispering behind my back, they can't touch me." He says. Kurt kneels in front of Violet. "They can't touch us or what we have."
Violet smiles as she takes his hand and stands up with him.
"You inspire me every day, Kurt Hummel."

Figgins sees Violet and Kurt walk back into the gym. "Ladies and gentlemen, your 2011 prom queen, Kurt Hummel."
Figgins places the crown on Kurt's head and hands him a scepter.
Kurt walks up to the microphone. "Eat your heart out, Kate Middleton."
Most of the crowd begins smiling, cheering, and clapping — Violet's cheers being the loudest. Figgins laughs and pats Kurt on the back.
Figgins smiles. "And now, behold the tradition of our 2011 prom king and queen sharing their first dance."
Karofsky gets on stage next to Kurt and the two slowly begin to walk offstage to dance.
Kurt looks to the former bully. "Now's your moment."
Karofsky looks confused. "What?"
Kurt smiles. "Come out. Make a difference."
Santana and Mercedes begin to sing Dancing Queen, looking unsure.
Karofsky shakes his head. "I can't." Karofsky runs off, leaving Kurt alone.
Violet approaches Kurt. "Excuse me." She says. Kurt turns around. "May I have this dance?" Violet asks as she holds out a hand to Kurt.
Kurt smiles. "Yes. Yes, you may."
Violet and Kurt have the floor, dancing together while Santana and Mercedes sing 'Dancing Queen.'
