Chapter 91

Chapter 91

Oliver.

I was sitting in a corner on the second floor of the school, eating my lunch and watching people pass by. I didn't want to see Ms. Yowane again. In class that morning, I did my best not to make eye contact with her, even though she kept trying.

I didn't want to look like an idiot, crying over her leave. I didn't have a crush on her, either! I just wanted to help her; I wanted her to stay. She was an amazing teacher, and true, she had a problem, but I helped her deal with it.

I frowned and looked down at my sandwich. I kind of wanted to confront Mr. Dell, the principal, but I was a little afraid.

"Hey, loner," I heard someone sneer. I looked up to see Neru.

"Look at yourself," I frowned, "You're being a loner, too."

"We're both being loners," her sneer became a more sincere smile, "Why don't we be loners together?"

"Because that defeats the purpose of being a loner!" I yelled, but she sat down beside me anyway, pulling a paper bag out of her bag.

'Bagception', I thought to myself.

"I've decided," she said with a smile.

"D-Decided what, that you'll stop tormenting me?" I watched as she pulled out her phone and texted someone before looking at me.

"I'm not going to let you be a loner anymore," she said, "Now that Ms. Yowane's leaving, you won't have anybody to talk to."

"That's not true," I huffed, "I've got lots of friends. Sometimes I'd just rather be alone."

"Me, too," Neru said, "It's not like I don't have friends, it's just...having another friend doesn't hurt, right?"

I sighed. "I guess."

"Good," she patted my shoulder, "Now, let's eat."

"I already was eating," I mumbled.

"I can't wait for the concert," Neru's tone showed just how excited she was, "And no, I'm not hanging out with you in an attempt to get some secret insider info or anything, okay?"

"R-Right," I nodded.

Meiko.

"Careful!" I screamed as Mikuo squirted dots of blue onto the orange cake, "Careful, I said! Put one over there, over there!"

"Hey, quit it!" He frowned, "No backseat driving!"

"Don't screw it up, Mikuo!"

"If you let me concentrate, I won't screw it up!"

I sighed and turned away. The teachers were eyeing us. Some were amused, others were concerned. Gakupo is particular was looking like he was having a lot of fun.

"It's not for you, okay?" I glared at him. Ms. Luka, who was sitting beside him and doing something on her laptop, giggled.

"Stop, it's not funny!" I said, which only made her laugh more. She put the laptop to one side and got up.

"Let me help," she said, "I love decorating cakes."

Wait, what? Ms. Luka the math teacher likes decorating cakes?

"O-Okay...," I pulled Mikuo away and he yelped.

"Here," I handed the tube of frosting to Luka.

"It's for Rin, right?" She smiled. I nodded.

"I've got some orange candies in my bag's front pocket," she gestured towards a small bag that sat by her laptop, "Get them for me, will you?"

I nodded and hurried over, carefully unzipping the bag's front and pulling out a clear plastic bag full of orange sweets.

"Go with Mikuo to the cafeteria kitchen and get these crushed into bits," Luka instructed, "We'll sprinkle them on top and it'll look even better!"

I nodded with a grin. "Thanks!"

"No problem!" She beamed. I glared at Gakupo one last time before Mikuo dragged me out of the staff room.

Len.

Gumi, Yuma, Miku and I were all watching as we approached Rin's home. I peered out of the window and noticed that the car wasn't parked.

"It's not there," I said softly, "Their driver must've left already..."

"Is that it?" Gumi pointed out the other window and I spotted a black car slowly becoming more and more distant.

"Jeremy, catch that car!" Miku instructed. The limo sped up and soon we were right beside the black car. A young man was driving; he glanced at me as I stuck my hand out of the window and motioned for him to roll his window down.

"It's me, Rin's friend!" I yelled, and he seemed to recognize Rin's name, "Are you going to pick her up?"

The man nodded, trying to keep his eyes on the road. We weren't on a busy street yet, but the highway was coming up.

"We want to come!" I continued, "We want to see Rin! Can you stop the car?"

The man slowed down, approaching the side of the road, and eventually stopped. Jeremy stopped the limo and we all hurried out.

"Thank you, Miku," I said. She pulled me in for a hug.

"Never let go of Rin," she said with a smile, "Bring her back. The rest of us can't wait to see her again."

I nodded. "Okay," I followed Yuma and Gumi into the back of the car, and Miku got back into the limo.

"Bye!" Gumi waved as Miku was driven away. Yuma pulled her back in as the car started to move again.

"You'll hurt yourself," he said.

"Thank you," I said to the driver and he nodded with a smile.

"Anytime, Mr. Len," he said.

"Wait, how do you know my name?"

"Miss Rin talks about you a lot, you know," the driver said.

I blushed. Yuma punched me playfully in the arm.

"Looks like you've got a girl who really loves you," he smiled. Gumi rolled her eyes.

"Yuma, you talk as though you don't have one!" She smirked and he tousled her hair.

"Did you see the cake?" I asked. They nodded.

"It's beautiful!" Gumi grinned, "Did you really make it yourself?"

I scratched the nape of my neck and chuckled. "With a little help from Miku and her butler," I said.

"You're so cute," Gumi beamed. Yuma bonked her on the head gently and she made a face.

"Stupid yandere!" She pouted, "You know I didn't mean it that way!"

"Hey, I just bonked you because I wanted to," Yuma smirked, "I'm not jealous or anything!"

I laughed at their antics and looked out of the window. We were on the expressway now, and Rin's flight was due for arrival in an hour and a half.

"Do you think we'll make it in time?" I asked the driver.

"Most likely," he said.

"The real question is, will we get back to school in time?" Yuma frowned. I nodded.

"We don't mind missing class!" Gumi clapped her hands together and Yuma sighed.

"Yeah, but Ms. Yowane's going to leave," he said.

"Right," I looked out the window at the fleeting blurs of cars and concrete, "Oliver wasn't willing to do it, but he's going to try and stall her. This isn't going to change our feelings for each other, but it's important. Especially for Rin."

And cut.

If someone doesn't know, a yandere is someone who is normally very sweet and affectionate, but gets possessive. It's...er, hard to explain without having a real definition in front of me right now. Sort of like, they'll run after you, screaming that they love you, but they'll have a knife with them. They get jealous easily if someone tries to make a move on their beloved.

I'm not entirely sure whether the context that I used it in was right...tell me!

'Bagception' has single quotes around it because it is a made up word. In case anyone was wondering.

Wanna know a secret? The orange candies were in the front pocket, and the tuna candies were in the back pocket. Good thing Meiko isn't going to accidentally grind those up, huh?!

Also, as I read the end of this chapter, I think about Rin. And the ending song for Tangled plays though my head. Why, I don't know.
