Chapter 88

Chapter 88

Miku.

Soon after, everyone left, one by one. I stayed by Kaito as the doctors stitched his forehead, comforting him even though he said that it didn't hurt.

"You won't even see a mark in a couple of years," the doctor assured.

Kaito nodded cooly, and I shook the doctor's hand.

"Thank you," I nearly cried again, "Thank you so much."

I helped Kaito walk. I threw his arm over my shoulder and led him out of the hospital.

The sun was almost gone, and a chilly wind blew across the streets as we stood outside the hospital, by the parking lot. We stared out at the road and Kaito rested his head on my shoulder.

"Are we going to walk?" He frowned.

"We should've gotten Yuma's mom to drop us off," I grimaced, "But we can call Jeremy."

"You mean that chauffeur?"

"Yeah," I pulled my phone out and called Jeremy, "Yo, 'sup Jeremy, I am in desperate need with a capital d of you down here, my homie. My boy and I are chillin' out my the Northtown Hospital with wounded heads and broken hearts."

Kaito stared at me. "What was all that about?"

"Look, I...I don't know," I shrugged, "It's part of the contract."

Jeremy came by in that nice limo, and I was still wearing my bloody pyjamas.

"Here," Kaito grunted and started to wriggle out of his shirt, but I stopped him.

"It's okay," I smiled, "It's fine."

"Y-You sure?"

I nodded. "I'm sure."

We got into the back and Kaito shifted his leg slowly. I scooted into one corner and pulled him over.

"Lie down," I said, pushing his head into my lap and stretching out his legs along the length of the seat.

"That feels better," he mumbled with a smile.

"Your leg's stretched out you mean, right?"

"Nope," he shook his head and looked up at me, "I feel better because I'm lying in your lap.

I blushed. "Hey Kaito...do you remember our kiss? The one after I called the ambulance?"

He shook his head and paused. "Just barely," he smiled, "Why? Does that mean that you're not going to kiss me again?"

"Of course not," I cradled his head in my hands and lowered my own head so that our noses touched and our lips brushed against each other's.

"You're pretty up close," Kaito whispered, running his tongue along my lips and making me blush, "You're always pretty..."

I kissed him, closing my eyes and opening my mouth, digging my hands into his hair as we plunged deeper and deeper, as his tongue entered my mouth and danced with mine. He ran a slow finger along my jaw and the length of my neck, pulling back after grazing the base of my neck.

He pulled away for a moment and sat up as straight as he could, and then pulled me closer again, letting our lips marry. He stroked my hair and ran his tongue along my teeth, and I couldn't help but cry out slightly at the touch of his fingers just under my top, running along my hips.

We were at my home before I knew it. Time had flown by as we had indulged in each other.

"I shouldn't have done that," he whispered before we left the limo. I shook my head.

"Don't say that," I smiled, "There's nobody else I'd rather kiss. There's nobody else that I'd rather spend my time with. Life without Kaito is death!"

Maybe my last line was a bit over the top, because Kaito burst out laughing, falling back along the length of the seat.

"Miku, I love you so much!" He had tears in his eyes as I helped him up and put of the car. He limped along with me to the door.

"I know," I nodded furiously, "I love you, too!"

"I called you my leek-loving princess, didn't I?" He chuckled as we walked into the living room.

"You were being silly!" I gently bonked him on the head, away from his wound. I sat him down on the sofa and hurried into the kitchen.

"Miku," he called as I pulled some veggies, especially leeks, out of the refrigerator, "I should go home."

"Nope!" I called back, "You're staying here tonight!"

"What?" I ignored his exclamation and quickly heated up the stove, adding some water, spices and chicken stock to the pot before hurrying to chop the vegetables.

I hummed 'Po Pi Po' to myself as I made the soup, checking to make sure that the flavour was just right. Soup was one of the few things that I knew how to make. My butler, Jeremy the Second (who is in no way related to Jeremy the chauffeur), usually cooked my meals, but I knew that he was a sharp one, and he knew what I was doing.

Once the soup was done, I poured some into a bowl and took a spoon with me back out to the living room, where Kaito was sitting on the sofa. I sat down beside him and he gawked at the bowl.

"I made it for you," I said quickly, trying not to blush, "You have to eat well and rest up, because Rin's coming back tomorrow afternoon and I don't want her to see you like this!"

"Miku, please," Kaito smiled, "At least change your clothes."

I looked down at my bloody pyjamas, feeling embarrassed. Quickly, I put the bowl of soup down on the floor.

"Sorry," I mumbled, "It's just that, when I'm with you, I seem to forget about other things..."

He laughed. I hugged him, just because his laughter was so wonderful.

"Go ahead, Miku, go change your clothes," he smiled, "I'll be right here."

I nodded and hurried upstairs to my room. I pulled off my pyjamas and my underwear was sort of bloody, too, so I pulled those off, too. Then I thought that I should just take a quick shower, but I didn't want to keep Kaito waiting...but I figured that I'd be nice and clean instead of tired and messy, so I jumped into the tub and turned on the tap.

"Do do doo...," I quickly washed myself up, trying to shampoo my hair as fast as I could. It's hard to shampoo your hair when you have as much of it as I do!

Suddenly, I heard the door click and I nearly screamed. Instead, I just blushed.

"Kaito!" The shower curtain was translucent, but I could see his outline as he yelped and stepped out, limping.

"Sorry, you were just taking so long that I was getting worried!" He yelled from outside. I turned off the shower but stayed behind the curtain.

"You're hurt!" I said, "Why did you come all the way up here?"

"Your butler carried me, really, he did!" Kaito insisted, "And he heated the soup and brought it up, too!"

I frowned. That certainly sounded like Jeremy the Second. As I mentioned earlier, he really was sharp. Even when he wasn't out in the open, he knew what was going on. To be honest, it was just a little bit creepy.

"Are you coming out, Miku?" Kaito sounded nervous. I sighed and pulled the shower curtain aside.

Quickly. I stepped out of the tub and grabbed a towel from the counter, wrapping it around myself. I just couldn't stop blushing, but I walked out of the bathroom and stared at Kaito dully.

"You're still beautiful," he grinned stupidly. I sighed.

"Sit down, Kaito, you're hurt," I said.

"Oh, right," he nodded and plopped down on my bed, "I forgot."

"W-What do you mean, you forgot?" I plugged in the hair dryer and sat down on the small, teal sofa that was in one corner of the room.

"I was worried about you, Miku," he nodded, "So I guess that's why I forgot."

He watched me as I dried my hair, and let me tell you, shampooing wasn't the only thing that took a long time with hair this long; drying took practically forever!

"Are you going to change your clothes now?" He smirked. I blushed. Since when did Kaito become that type of guy?

"I am," I found myself saying, blushing as I said it, "W-Why?"

Kaito shook his head. "I'll close my eyes."

"I'll change in the bathroom," I said quickly, pulling my clothes out of the closet and walking past him. He grabbed my arm and pulled me into his lap. I fell with a soft cry. His injured leg hung just above the floor.

"It's leek scented," I mumbled as Kaito twirled strands of my hair between his fingers, inhaling the smell with a smile.

"I can tell," he whispered.

"I think the head injury did something to you," I frowned, twitching as he stroked my face. His hand slipped past my jawline and he gently rubbed my collarbone, lowering his mouth and kissing my neck, running his tongue along its length as his fingers slipped under the hem of the towel.

"Pull up, pull up!" I yelped, sitting up straight, "Stop, stop, stop!"

"Sorry!" Kaito apologized quickly, "I'm just going crazy, Miku! Crazy about you..."

"I'm not ready yet," I pulled my towel higher over my front and hurried into the bathroom. I threw off the towel and pulled on a pale pink dress. I quickly opened the door, picked up the soup bowl that sat on my bedside table and plopped down beside Kaito.

"I'm crazy for you, too," I smiled stupidly, almost like Kaito would, "It's just, what we were doing was so sudden..."

I scooped a spoonful of soup and inched closer to Kaito. He smirked and planted a kiss on my cheek, and as soon as he pulled away, I shoved the spoon into his mouth. He swallowed and blew out a gust of air.

"That was hot!" He screamed.

"Jeremy!" I yelled, "We need some water!"

Jeremy ran into my room with a tray that held two glasses and a clear jug of water. He put it down onto the table and quickly filled a glass and handed it to Kaito. He chugged it down and sighed.

"Let it cool," he said. I nodded and blew on it.

"It'll cool faster," I explained.

I fed him the rest of the soup, and by then, it was nearly ten. I yawned and fell back into bed. Kaito stared down at me.

"I should go home," he said.

I shook my head. "Nope. I told you, you're spending the night right here."

"What? Miku, I can't do that!"

"You can't walk is what you can't do!" I yelled, sitting up straight, "Who's going to get you a glass of water? How will you go to the bathroom?"

Kaito shrugged. "I'll limp," he said.

I shook my head. "No, you won't. You're sleeping over tonight. It'll be like old times!"

"I don't think so, princess," he smiled wistfully, "We weren't like this when we were ten."

I blushed. "Well, maybe I like it better this way."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"It's progression!" I yelled as he reached past me and picked up a pillow. He flung it at my head and I yelped, throwing the pillow off of my face.

"What was that for?" I asked. He chuckled.

"You're cute," he pouted his lips. I never thought that a guy could look adorable doing that, but Kaito proved it to me.

"Yeah?" I huffed, trying to maintain my curt attitude. I guess maybe I was afraid of being too open in front of him, even though he was probably the person I trusted the most. I knew that I loved him, and his injury had just amplified my feelings hundredfold, but some part of me was holding back from being myself.

When I had taken him out to dinner, I was being myself. I don't really know how or when it happened, but sometimes it did. Maybe I thought that the two of us were getting a bit too sappy sometimes.

"I'm sleeping in your room, then!" Kaito grinned and pulled me in for a bear hug.

"What?" My voice was muffled against his chest, "F-Fine, you can sleep on the sofa!"

He shook his head. "If I'm spending the night, I'm sharing the bed, princess!"

"It's way too early for that!" I yelled.

"We'll just be lying next to each other," Kaito smiled like a little kid, "And we'll cuddle!"

"No!"

"Miku, quit lying to yourself," Kaito whispered. I frowned. That was a sudden change in tone, "You're afraid of letting me in because you want to avoid heartbreak. I told you before, I'm never going to leave you, no matter what."

"People make mistakes," I mumbled.

"Of course they do," Kaito said, kissing my nose , "But you know me better than anyone else. You're closer to me than you are to your parents. You know I'm not like that."

I furrowed my brow and thought hard for a moment. Kaito wasn't wrong about what he had said, that was for sure.

"I'm sorry," I mumbled, "I guess I'm just a wimp."

"No, no, you're not," Kaito smiled, "You're Miku. My princess. The girl I'd never let go, no matter who she fell in love with. Life without Miku is death."

I smiled slightly. He was echoing my line from earlier. "Thanks," I said softly.

"Come on," he smiled, "You haven't even had dinner yet!"

"Yeah," I got up from the bed and ran a hand through his hair, "Stay here. I'll go get myself some soup."

"Just ask Jeremy to get it," Kaito smiled. Right then, Jeremy re-entered the room with some soup and crackers.

"He knows," I winked at Kaito.

First off, hooray, a huge chapter! Second, I'm sorry, the Miku x Kaito train got out of hand and took over the entire chapter! I actually want to just RIP THIS CHAPTER UP BECAUSE GRAHHHHH RAGE AT MYSELF!!!
So yeah. I apologize to anyone who doesn't ship Miku x Kaito. Don't worry; subsequent chapters will return to other ships! *hides in a corner* I'm so sorry! *bawls*
Anyway, thanks for reading. This chapter is really horrible and crappy, I know...but the Miku x Kaito shipper inside me sort of took over. Also, I wanted Miku to feed him soup, so there's that.
Do you want me to remove the, erm, scenes? I stopped before anything got out of hand, and it's pretty vague...I'll get rid of them if you want! Please, do tell me!
See you next chapter, and I promise, the next one will be way better!

And thank you, god, for bringing this chapter back! Long story...
