Hunter sat on the steps of Hexside, sighing in content.

He would be staying with Gus in the meantime, and they were enrolling him into Hexside. It couldn't get any better.

He was merely observing what went on, his eyes trailing a specific witch in the plant track.

He was so focused on her, he failed to notice someone sit down next to him until they spoke.

"Hey, Hunter."

He jumped, startled, and looked at the person next to him. Amity Blight.

"What?" Hunter glared slightly.

"I don't trust you. I still don't. But, you helping Gus out back there was pretty heroic." She stopped to take a deep breath. "I know our situations are incredibly different, but... I know what it's like, to not be cared for by your own family."

Hunter raised an eyebrow as Amity continued.

"You try your best to impress them and it never works, you believe all those lies. Then, someone finds you, pulls you out, and shows you what a family—or love in general," She scratched her cheek. "is supposed to feel like."

"Yeah, I see what you mean." Hunter's glare lifted as his eyes drifted back towards the Grugby field, watching the Flyer's Derby team practice.

A silence went between them, then Hunter spoke up.

"I think we got off on the wrong foot, so let's start over." He suggested.

Amity nodded, and offered out her hand. "I'm Amity Blight."

Hunter shook her hand. "Hunter."

They smiled at each other, and then a water balloon was thrown at Hunter by Gus.

"Hey, Hunter! Are you joining us?" He yelled.

"Yeah, we're waiting on you, Goldie!" Willow added.

Hunter smiled, but felt himself blush at the pet name. "I'm coming, captain."

Amity chuckled. "You like her, don't you?"

"That's not your business." Hunter shook his head as flapjack turned into a staff.
