Words

(Nila's P.O.V)
I trace my fingers along the scraggly words written across my collar bone. Mine finally appeared. The story behind these is that only one other person can see the words- your soul mate. So, I just have to wait for mine. I'm pretty sure when you first meet them, they say the word or words often during your first meeting. I grab a high collar t shirt and put it on. Even if I'm the only one who can see it right now, I still feel insecure. I put on my jeans and converse and walk downstairs. I grab my backpack and sling it over my shoulder.
"Bye! Love you!" I yell to my mom and dad. They repeat it back and I head out the door. I go to my car I got for my birthday and drive down to community college. Luckily, we only live like 5 or so minutes away but me being me I decided to waste gas on the smallest trip ever. Usually people get there words when they are in college, so I'm happy that I got it now. My friend Amber got hers when she was in middle school. Still hasn't found the guy/girl either. I step out of the car and grab my bag again. I walk up to my first and favorite class, creative writing. It started out as just a mandatory thing for me to major in writing, but I really enjoy it. I take my seat and grab my pencils, pens, and notebooks out of my bag. I set them in front of me waiting for everyone to enter so class can begin.
"Hey Nila." I hear a girl shout behind me. I turn around to be greeted by all of my closest friends. Yeira (yeera), Viper, and of course Amber. They all sit in a row next to me. We're known as team N.A.V.Y. Makes sense, we are almost always together. Ever since kindergarten. Never forget when we all went to pick up a pencil I dropped. Head on collision, literally. A small smile tugs at my lips. Yeira nudges me,
"What ya thinking about?" She asks curious as to why I'm smiling. I lift up my head.
"Just thinking." I respond. I see our teacher come out and put his lesson plan on his podium.
"Alright guys, get out those worn out pens." He says. We do write a lot, but that's the whole point. Plus I love to write anyway so I'm not complaining. He starts to write what we need to do for class in the big white board in the front. He writes POEMS. I smile. My specialty.
"What is the number one rule about poems, hm?" He asks looking around the room. I raise my hand knowing the answer immediately. He smiles at me then points his marker at me.
"Yes, Nila?"
"Never use I." I say confident.
"Correct." He says turning back to the board.
"You are to write about a rat on a Saturday night. Sounds silly, maybe. But it's all how you interpret it." He says while writing A Rat On A Saturday Night. Sounds like a fun assignment.
"Start writing."
I hear clicks of pens and scratches of pencils. I grab my pen and write down some ideas as our teacher- who's name will finally be mentioned- Mr. Sinester walks around examining us. He knows I like to take my time so he usually skips right past me. It's a normal day, he skips past me and looks at other students as they write down whatever their brains pour out onto the page. I sit tapping my pen against the paper making a little sound with each movement. Time goes fast and I hear the bell ring jolting me from writing down a little idea for the poem. I gather my stuff and head to hell aka math. I can't believe I used to like this subject. I wave by to the girls as we all go our separate ways. I feel my wrist and collar bone tingle a bit. I run to the bathroom right outside my math classroom and check my wrists. There they are. The words on my wrists. I guess I'll meet them soon....

Btw for the cover I put the word words on their color bones in his and hers writing but I don't want to reveal what exactly those words are. Let's see what happens next shall we.
