Chapter 46: The Promise

It was a beautiful sight, Harry breathless over me, beads of sweat at his hairline, his cheeks flushed and our hearts still racing as we savored the lingering feeling of our connection.
"I have never felt closer to another person before," I whispered to him. He cocked his head slightly in question. "I'm being absolutely serious. You're the only one who has ever made me feel like this."
"Like what?" He asked. But as the word left my mouth, he said it in unison with me, his word a question and mine an answer. "Complete?" I nodded and kissed him.
"I believe that is exactly how it's supposed to be," I said. "We're completing each other, supplying each other's missing parts."
He rested his weight to my side and took me with him as he rolled over onto his back. I flopped my arm over his chest and listened to his still-thumping heart. "That makes a lot of sense," he answered. "I can't imagine ever wanting to share that with anyone but you. And oh my god, that was amazing!" He gushed.
I threw my head back, laughing at his response. "I'm glad you liked it," I hummed. "And I feel the same way about you. I never want to be with anyone else again. I think that's why God designed it the way he did, for sex to unify a husband and wife so that they always love only each other. It's just sad that not all marriages turn out that way." I looked up at him and continued, "Obviously we're not married, but you get what I mean, right?"
"Mmhmm," he murmured, letting his long fingertips drag softly along my back. "Jules?"
"Yeah?"
"I wanna marry you."
My heart stopped and then took off in a gallop with his declaration. In response, I stretched up and captured his mouth in a kiss and then whispered, "I wanna marry you, too."
The magnificent grin that transformed his face was like no other I had ever seen before, his eyes absolutely illuminated with joy. "As soon as we leave this place. I never want to be without you again. Ever."
I nodded happily and kissed him again. "I know. I feel the same way."
"Y...you're not going to leave me....are you?" He asked, clearly still scarred by Theodore's emotional abuse.
"I am never going to leave you, Harry," I said adamantly. "I promise." As much as we would have loved to keep talking about our future, the reality of our situation kept creeping back in. "How are we going to get out?" I lamented.
"I don't know, Baby," he said, purposely looking at me with a smirk and a bite of his lip.
"Oh, you want to call me that now, too?" I said, appreciating his cheekiness.
"Oh yeah, Baby," he said in a deep but silly voice. Once again, I burst into laughter.
"What has gotten into you?" I giggled.
"Looovvve," he said, drawing out the word and then laughing with me. "I'm in love."
"Okay, well I approve of my nickname," I told him.
He gave me a wet kiss on my nose. "Good," he whispered. "And before we figure out how to escape, I want one more thing."
"What's that?"
His face turned a little pink as he answered, "I wanna do it again."
"Fine," I giggled, this time climbing over him. I leaned down to kiss him while pressing myself down, taking almost no time to ready both of us. We joined together, letting our breathing go crazy, half laughing and half sobbing as we pushed each other to our peaks once again. It was going to be so much fun teaching him new things and discovering new things together.
I collapsed onto his chest, giggling and sighing. "How can you be so good at that?"
His body vibrated under me as he laughed. "Must have a good teacher," he said and then we both completely dissolved into a fit of laughter.
We calmed down and laid in silence for bit, still entangled with each other. "We really need to figure things out," I said. I didn't dare tell him that I truly thought Theodore was planning to kill me, especially since he had threatened to do that very thing and make Harry watch. But we had to get out of here as soon as possible, before he could carry out whatever evil plans he had for us.
"I know," he said.
"Let's get some sleep and first thing in the morning we're going to come up with a plan. Unless you're hungry. Do you want anything to eat yet?"
"Not yet," he shook his head. "We've tried everything," he said with a twinge of hopelessness. "How are we going to escape?"
"No, there has to be something we haven't thought of," I answered. I sat up and Harry gasped. I realized the bandage had fallen from my shoulder, likely from the friction of our recent activities.
"Jules!" He said in horror as he saw my gunshot wound.
"It's healing just fine," I assured him. "They had to take the bullet out, though, and stitch it up."
"I'm sorry," he said, letting tears slip away.
"He hurt you, too," I said. "I'm sorry I wasn't there to help you. So you didn't get shot?" I wanted to make sure I hadn't missed an obvious injury.
"No," he shook his head. "I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you. But I thought of you every moment, even when Theodore was telling me. . . ." He started to choke up.
I crawled back over to him and kissed him. "I know what he said. He's a liar. I love you." I used the bathroom and then climbed back in bed where we both spent a blissfully satisfied night's sleep in each other's arms.
In the morning, we woke with the first rays of the sun. "Morning," I sighed, leaning over to kiss him. I wanted to lie there in Harry's arms forever, but I knew we would only be able to afford that luxury once we were safe. Right now we had to plan and act. Then I got up and walked naked to my own room to put on a fresh set of clothes. When I returned to his room, he had put on a clean pair of jeans and a long-sleeved t-shirt. He looked older, more mature, like the last two or three weeks had caused him to grow up exponentially faster than even the past several months.
I couldn't resist walking into his arms, just reveling in the fact that we were together again. We held each other for a long time, humming and sighing in happiness. "Um hey Jules?" He finally spoke.
"Yeah?"
"Are you...gonna get pregnant because we...had sex?" God he was adorable.
"No, I'm on birth control pills. I just started taking them again, actually."
"Oh, okay," he said and hugged me tighter. He would be a great dad some day but that was a long way in the future. He had to learn so much and we still had so much to learn about each other.
Finally, I asked, "You have to be hungry by now. Did they give you any food? You seem slimmer."
"Bread, sandwiches mostly," he shrugged. "I didn't have much of an appetite."
I turned to head to the kitchen and he followed. "I didn't feel much like eating either. And everything in the fridge is going bad." I opened the door and took out whatever was salvageable - bread, jelly, apples, some cheese and a few eggs. I turned to him, eggs in hand and asked, "Hard boiled?"
"My favorite," he nodded. I got out the pan and told him about the little bits of food that I had actually eaten while he was away, a rather hodge-podge collection of food items rather than anything substantial - chocolate chips, chocolate ice cream, bananas, some chips and sandwiches basically. I laughingly told him, "There's still frozen pizza in the freezer but I have to clean the oven before we can make it. I almost burned the house down last time-"
I stopped and gasped, turning to Harry with a wild look in my eyes. "That's it!" I yelled, but then I lowered my voice to not draw attention to what I was going to say. "I know how we can get out!"

If you're re-reading, or if you're a first-time reading, I really hope you like this story.
I love Harry Styles.
And I love you.
And I've been drinking some Merlot.
That is all.
Oh, wait, don't forget, I love your comments! Please keep 'em coming <3
Oh, and let me just ask - was anyone shocked a few chapters ago that Theodore just came right out and told Jules everything and why he had done it???
