Chapter 3Detention - Tam SongPart 1
I'll admit, I wasn't thrilled about going to a new school -- or school, even, because, to be honest, I would be fine with just staying at home. But Mr. Tiergan--my friend's dad who I'm staying with--said he wanted me and Linh to go to school with his son Wylie. Linh took a positive approach to that, and although she takes a positive approach to everything, I think she mainly wanted to spend time with Wylie. Which is fine by me, but I still didn't want to go to school.
And now I'm saddled with detention because stupid Ms. Caeh couldn't even put aside ten minutes of her precious time to catch me up.
But it's not all bad. For instance, of all the people to go to detention with, I have Biana Vacker. Who, surprisingly, is as nice as she is pretty. And who, surprisingly, doesn't have a boyfriend. Trust me, I'm not implying anything, but for someone as beautiful as her--that's crazy.
And then back to the bad news, because it's 3:00 and Linh won't stop asking me questions.
"Why'd you get detention?"
"So I can catch up."
"Who do you have detention with?"
"Biana. Biana Vacker."
"Is she the pretty one?"
I sigh as Linh asks that third question. "You know, Linh, you should probably head home with Wylie," I say, thinking that will distract her.
Mission accomplished. Linh nods and grins before going off arm in arm with Wylie, who gives me a sympathetic grin.
I'm actually looking forward to detention. I mean, Biana's going to be there, so things are sorta looking up. And if you know me, that doesn't happen much in my world.
Author's Note: I wanted to publish this quickly, so I split this into two parts. Part two coming soon! Also--should I make Tam darker?
