Chapter 12: A Date - Tam Song & Biana Vacker

More multi-perspective chapters 'cause I'm starting to like them.

Fanta

Tam Song

I knew I didn't have a chance.

So why does it hurt this much?

Linh had been hanging out with a girl more recently. To be more specific, Biana Vacker.

I was roaming around the living room, occasionally stealing some cookies from the pantry every now and then. When the doorbell rang, I had not been expecting to open it to see Linh's grin and Biana's beautiful smile (eek cheesy, IK).

Our eyes met and I looked away. "Hey," I said, opening the door. Biana's smile turned weak, and she quickly ran upstairs with Linh.

Five minutes later, I was standing in my room with my ear on the wall separating Linh's room from mine. I'm not an eavesdropper, but the curiosity was getting to me.

Slowly, I gathered information from my sister's conversation.

"So," I heard Linh say. "Do you have a date to the dance?'

I could practically hear Biana blush.

Thump, thump, thump my heart went. I told it to shut up.

"Yes."

I pull my ear away. That's all I need to know.

I must've been crazy to even hope.

Biana Vacker

It had happened when I'd least expected it. A day before the dance and I had given up and hopes of being asked.

And then he came along.

~flashback-yesterday~

I'd been leaning on my locker after P.E, the last class of the day, when a boy with slicked-back blonde hair and electric green eyes appeared next to me. I jumped. I recognized that boy. Adam Greene was from my Math class, and always had a trail of drooling crop-top girls trailing him.

I sighed, expecting Adam to be asking for the answers for the Pop Quiz tomorrow.

I was extremely surprised when instead, he smirked, and asked, "Come with me to the Ball tomorrow?"

Frozen, the only thing that escaped my mouth was a squeak. Adam smirked again. "I'll take that as a yes. See you tomorrow."

And that's how it happened.
