Get Me Out
There he was, finally with me again. I was so happy to see him, and when I saw Poseidon with him, I realized that it must've been the real Poseidon.
My hand fell back at my side, I was too weak to hold it up. Hades, cupped my face and looked me in the eyes.
"Damara, listen, I want you to fight this okay? I need you to fight this. I'll help you. Just, try. Please.." Hades pleaded, as he rubbed my cheek.
I wanted to try. I really, really, did. But, I wasn't sure where to even start, my mind was filled with all the different the things I'd went through lately. I couldn't even think straight.
I shook my head.
"I..I don't know how. I can't do it." I sobbed. Poseidon knelt down next to me as well.
"Concentrate, on your life with Hades. Our friendship. The kindness of those annoying nymphs that you love so much," He started, putting a hand on my knee, the both of us shared a chuckle.
"The, brilliance of Athena's plan. The plan that's gonna save you. You can do this."
I smiled and nodded. I closed my eyes. Flooding my mind with memories.
The card games, the party at Olympus, the dance with Poseidon, the night with Hades. Everything. I was pushing through, but I wasn't strong enough. The memories weren't enough.
I became even more weak, and opened my eyes, my nose had started to bleed onto my lips.
"Damara..." Hades mumbled, as he wiped away the blood. Poseidon placed a hand on his brother's shoulder. "Those memories aren't enough. Not to get her out. They may be exciting. But..they aren't calming. Excitement isn't gonna help, not in this case." He explained.
Hades cleared his throat, and laced his hands with mine.
"Think about your life. Before all this. The calm nights you spent in bed, your teachings, family.." He trailed off, as I closed my eyes once more.
I thought about my old life. It was content. I had a brother, and a sister, they were my best friends. I had students, that looked up to me. Good parents too. It was too calm. But, happy enough to bring me back.
I inhaled sharply, needing air as I woke up. I was in chains, chaffing my wrists, they were bloody, and my skin was as dry as sandpaper. My lips were chapped, and my eyes were heavy. I was thirsty, and starving.
But, I wasn't in Hell.
I heard the door to my cell open, and my heart sank, fear filled my mind. I began to shake with terror.
The door creaked open, and and I was greeted by many friendly faces.
Ares, Aphrodite, Hephaestus, Dionysus, and the twins, walked in wearing smiles. I let out a sigh of relief, and smiled, as I gently threw my head back resting it against the wall. Ares smirked.
"Miss us?"
