Artemis & Apollo
Hades lead me to, two different people, one woman, one man, as Ares occupied himself with something else.
The two people smiled, but then looked at Hades, with confused looks on their faces. "My dear uncle, what brings you to Olympus?" The woman asked. Hades smiled at her.
"Well, your dear father has taken an interest in me, for a reason, that I don't quite know. How are my favorite of my brother's kids? I always liked you twins." He smiled.
Twins? So this must be Artemis and Apollo, I'll admit, I was very impressed to see them, they were some of the most interesting ones. And, probably some of the most civil as well.
"And, who might this be?" Apollo asked, looking at me. Before I could answer, Hades did.
"Just some human your father insisted that I bring, don't ask why, Zeus is hard to understand." He explained.
"Oh am I brother?"
Asked a familiar voice that I recognized as none other than Zeus. Hades rolled his eyes, and clenched his fists so tightly, they began to bleed, before putting on a fake smile. "Well, I know I never could." Hades mocked.
Zeus then turned his attention to me.
"Ah, I see you've brought the human! Marvelous!" He exclaimed.
Apollo rolled his eyes. "Does this human have a name? Because I feel as though we're all being quite rude to her." He sighed, before giving me a kind smile, and Artemis did the same.
"Yes, what's your name? If you don't mind me asking." She added.
I smiled. "My name is Damara."
Hades smiled at me softly, not wanting anyone to notice. His eyes sparkling, I now realize that this was the first time I'd mentioned my name. And, by the looks of it, he was impressed by it.
Zeus smirked widely, eager to ruin the moment.
"Damara hmm? That's a Latin name, if I am not mistaken." He smiled. I nodded.
"Yes, yes it is. It means gentle."
"So, Damara, are you a gentle person?" He smirked, suddenly making me feel quite uncomfortable.
"Only when I need to be." I stated strongly. But he must've seen it as a flirtation, either that, or he just didn't care that I wasn't interested, both were very believable.
He bit his lip. "Damara, why don't you tell me about yourself? What'd you do before you were cursed to accompany my brother in The Underworld?"
"I was a Greek Mythology professor actually." I explained, assuming he was talking about my job, but judging by the look he gave me, he'd meant something else entirely, I guess I was just so used to the way that we spoke on earth, that I didn't even think about how different things would be here.
Nobody asked me for a different answer though. Not even Zeus, the only person that really acknowledged my mistake, was a man standing in the back of the room, he laughed at my response. He wasn't apart of the conversation, or even being noticed by Zeus, Hades, or the twins, but he was listening, that's for sure. And when his eyes met mine, he smirked at me, and then he was gone.
"So tell me Damara? How does it feel to be in the presence of me? The most powerful god there is?" Zeus asked breaking my train of thought. Ares scoffed.
"That's a matter of opinion father." He smirked.
"Ares my son, I can show you that it isn't." Zeus chuckled, challenging the god of war. Ares stepped up to his father, and Hades put a hand on each of their chests.
"Please, just be civil for at least one night."
He suggested. Zeus cocked his head, and scoffed. "Why? For her? She should know this is how we are!" He replied, referring to me of course.
There was no way, that Hades would be able to fix this on his own, so I thought maybe there was a way I could.
"He's right, I mean, Zeus..is a very predictable being." I stated.
The twins, looked at each other and tried to keep from laughing, and Hades bit his lip to try and keep from smiling at me, even Ares had a devilish grin on his face. And, it definitely got Zeus's attention.
"I assure you, I am not in any way, shape, or form, predictable."
I shrugged. "If you say so." I said, unimpressed.
The harpists, were playing the most beautiful song, and people around us were starting to dance. Zeus smirked, and held out his hand.
"How's this for predictable? Dance with me." He stated. I looked at Hades. He looked both angry and worried. And, I didn't wanna upset him anymore.
"I'd rather not." I replied. Zeus rolled his eyes and breathed a laugh, he took my hand anyway, hurting me a bit.
"I wasn't asking."
