here's my one-shot for madi's (the-preppy-avenger) multifandom one-shot contest!
prompt: "don't call me sweetheart"

Valyrie Stark wasn't quiet and softspoken like some of her Gryffindor siblings. She was bold and brazen. She was in Gryffindor along with her 2 of her siblings. The other two were on Ravenclaw. She smiled at all of her friends as she sat down for breakfast. She looked over and saw that Sirius Black was walking with his friends over to the table she was sharing with Lily Evans.

Valyrie looked over and saw Sirius had sat next to her and starting talking."Good morning, sweetheart." She glared at the man before getting up from her seat. "I'm not your sweetheart, Sirius. I'm not gonna be another notch on your belt so leave me alone, please." She said, getting up from her seat and going to the library to study for an upcoming test.

Hours passed and Valyrie had still been in the library studying for her test. Sirius had came up with a sandwich and some crisps for her as well as some pumpkin juice.

He sat down next to her and handed her the food. "Here's something for you to eat, Val. Lily said you've been up here all day and I didn't want you to starve."

Valyrie looked at him and smiled softly, patting his hand. "Thank you, Padfoot." She said, smiling at him and cutting the sandwich in half, offering him the other piece. He then smiled at her and started eating the other piece. "Okay, Valyrie," he said while placing his sandwich down, "why do you hate me so much? Do you not like me because I'm a playboy or what?" He said, turning to full face the girl.

Valyrie sighed softly and bit her lip, facing the boy in front of her. "I like you, that's my problem. I like you a lot more than I should and that scares me a little. You were dating Marlene, which is one if my closest friends, a week ago and now you're suddenly fixated on me. Plus, you calling me sweetheart just like you called Marlene sweetheart is over the line for me, okay? If we ever get together, you need to call me something else and not the same thing you've called all of your other flings, okay?" She said, finally saying what she needed to.

Sirius nodded and smiled at her, leaning over to kiss the girl's cheek. "I can make that work, love. Just let me know, okay?" He said, getting up and grabbing his school bag.

Valyrie reached over and grabbed his hand, pulling him back over to her. "Sirius, can you stay? Maybe we can talk or something? Get to know more about each other."

Sirius smiled at her and nodded, sitting down next to her. "I'd love to, Valyrie."

And there the couple sat for hours afterwards, laughing softly and chatting about anything and everything they could think about; not realizing that they were getting closer to being together.
