(A/N) This chapter is pretty short (tear).

My parents, King Xavier and Queen Penelope of Dragonheart, embraced me into a hug. I smiled. It feels so good to be hugged after eight months of ignorance and tears, hatred and loneliness.

"Anastasia Raingold is an excellent headmaster. Don't you think, honey?" My mother beamed at me. My cheerfulness drained out. I want to tell her everything. But I merely nodded my head numbly.

My father pulled us together tighter. "We are so proud of you, my jewel. We love you." He whispered lovingly.

I got all teary-eyed. I wanted to tell them I love them too, but sound simply refuses to come out of my mouth. Instead, I just smiled at them, the way I always do to tell them I love them too.

My mother held me by my shoulders, forcing me to look at her field-green eyes. "Go play with your friends." At this point I winced slightly. She didn't notice. "We will chat with other parents." She brushed a strand of my golden hair over my left ear("Spun from sunlight!" She had insisted). "We all love you just the way you are. Go on now." She smiled a priceless smile, one that warms the heart.

I nodded again, then walked away. We all love you just the way you are, my mother had whispered. My heart grew heavier than gold, my lips trembled.

What if I started acting different? What if I started talking, like every other girl?

What happens then?
