"Don't push me away, and I won't run."

Lorenzo kept the gun up, the deadly metal resting so tightly in his grip, but the man didn't show any fear.
Whether that was a facade or not, I wasn't exactly sure.

If I was anyone other then me, Lorenzos beautiful amazing wife, I'd be shitting my panties to see Lorenzos gun pointed at me. But I wasn't scared of Lorenzo.

Lorenzo squeezed the trigger, not hard enough to shoot out a bullet but enough to imply how much he wanted to.

The man eyed me over, as I did to him. His eyes bending on whether or not to speak, to admit.

"He was my boyfriend." He finally said, eyes moving away for a moment, his fists clenching at the reminder that Kingston was dead.

Shot dead.

His death flashing like a motion picture in my mind. How his eyes stared up at me, and his blood collected in a pool beside him, as it reached to stain my dress. How Satan laughed as he watched me struggle to help him.

"Your boyfriend?" I asked, despite being lost in my own head only seconds ago, as I placed a hand on Lorenzo forearm and forced Him to lower the gun. He hesitated, but did so, keeping the metal at his waist.

He wouldn't be so easy to trust him. Lorenzo trusted no one.

"For almost 5 years. No one knew, it wasn't allowed. Thomas forbid it." He murmured as he played out his case. His eyes tensing at the thought of it.

"How do we know you are telling the truth." Marco growled as he stepped forward. "People will say anything to save their asses." He hissed, as he stared down the man who stood beside the dead.

The iron red smell leached around the room, as blood dripped onto the black marble floor.

"Shush." I whispered, and Marco huffed angrily but did, of course with a roll of his eyes and a stern disapproval of my antics.

"Marco Is right my love." Lorenzo however whispered lowly down to me, as he brushed up my arm. "We have to be cautious ." Lorenzo continued as he flipped the safety of the gun on and off a couple times. Waiting patiently for the man to mess up.

"I know." I sighed. "Do you have any proof of what you say?" I then asked, as my eyes moved down to the photo of me and Satan on the desk and my body shook slightly.

"I know he gave you that locket." The man then spoke, and my hand went to the metal that hung around my neck. "I know what's inside it. He wore it everywhere, except it was a picture of you and your mom in it before—when you were a baby." He said. "Before..." he continued, but stopped himself.

"What's your name." Rosario then said, as he stepped forward and eyed the men, their eyes meeting for a few brisk seconds.

Rosario's clashing with his.

"Liam. Liam Ren." Liam spoke, as he reach into his pocket and Lorenzo raised his gun in a split second and wrapped his hand around me tighter, causing Liam to freeze.

Lorenzos hand ready to push me behind him in an instant.

He would die for me.

Liams eyes widening as he slowly took out his cell phone. "You have no reason to believe me, or to trust me." He spoke "but I had watched Satan shoot Kingston. And when I heard that you killed Satan...You brought me peace Serina." He said with tears brimming in his eyes.

He turned on his phone, the light of it making my eyes follow to the screen as he placed it in the middle of the desk. "These of the names of every single one of Thomas' men who don't support you or who is a threat or is willing to plan one." He said. "They are on here. Every single one."

"If you hate them all why were you with standing with them." Marco hissed a valid point.

"A lot of them are assholes, but they are still my family. I own a lot of them my life." He sighed, as he played with his fingers in front of him. "The people on that list, they are like them—" he spoke as he pointed to the dead men who were sunk in their chairs "but a lot were just scared of Thomas and Satan."

My mind ran marathons, was this man telling the truth? Did my uncle really care for him?

I know I could remember his picture, him and Kingston together, on the glow of Kingston's phone.

"Rosario." I called, and on command he stepped forward. "I want you to watch him. He doesn't leave your sight." Liams eyes shifted lowly over to Rosario's, eyeing him.

"Yes ma'am." Rosario smirked his famous little smile. His stone cold attitude from before fading away slightly.

He was different from Lorenzo and Marco in that way, Marco would goof around sure, but he was almost always business serious.

And Lorenzo—I think I am the only person alive who has seen him act so playfully. His serious murder ready part of him never faltered, but was only pushed slightly to the side when his eyes fell on me.

"—And let's just be clear, if any harms come to him, I will hold you responsible." I said with a demanding tone, yet my eyes were playfully unserious.

But Rosario's been shot before. He could handle the pain.

"I hear you Loud and clear mama bear." Rosario laughed as he saluted me, before he walked up to Liam.

Rosario stood towering over him.

I was a mouse compared to all of these men who stood all nearing 6'4". Lorenzo the tallest.

I wanna climb him. Growl

"Let's go." Rosario grunted, and Liam shot me one more look before he followed Rosario willingly and without resistance.

"Rosario is an idiot. He is Probably going to lose him." Marco grunted. Awe, him and Rosario were so cute, they had such a sweet friendship.

"No, I don't think he'll try to escape." I said with a tilt of my head as I watched the two of them walk out the front door.

"And why is that sparrow?" Lorenzo hummed, knowing I liked when he called me that name.

I doubt Lorenzo would ever trust Liam. And I don't doubt he would rather have just killed him, but he didn't, because he knew I didn't think like that.

And because I'd destroy him for it.

"A feeling." I said, as I looked down at the table again.

"So what are you going to do about the names?" Marco asked Lorenzo.

"Well-" Lorenzo began to say, but stopped, as his eyes lowered to me as I picked up the photo in my hand. His grip on me tightening, as he looked at it same as me.

My eyes zeroed In on the photo once again, and I looked over its features.

I looked at my face, and how broken I looked. I looked at how Satan's hand tugged at my hair, and I could once again hear the words he called me.

It showed me a memory I thought I had gotten over.
A memory I thought was is my past.

Slowly, bringing it closer till I could truly study it.

You could see the pillow Satan used to kill Thomas, thrown on the floor to the side.

Despite it being a piece of picture paper, it burnt my skin.

I didn't say a word as I tried to moved out of Lorenzos grasp, pushing away his hands—

but he tightened his hold on me, wrapped his hand around my waist and held me in place. "Serina." He called out it me, as he turned me to face him. "Hey. Don't push me away." He said as he forced his eyes to meet mine.

Oh Lorenzo.

My head dipping slightly, as I tried to advert my gaze from him. But he tilted my chin up and forced my eyes back. "Don't push me away, and I won't run. Remember?" He told me, repeating those words we said to each other so long ago.

Words whispered to each other when the world was slowly collapsing, and we'd be tested in trials we couldn't even imagine.

Blowing out a breath, I nodded, as he pulled me into his chest and I willingly buried myself in his warmth.

"Why are you so reasonable." I asked, as I listened to his rhythmic heartbeat, listening to how human it sounded.

Marco chuckling lightly under his breath, like he all together disagreed with my statement.

"I am far from reasonable." Lorenzo assured. "But you don't get to walk away when shit is going down." He paused "neither do I." He whispered.

"I know." I purred, with a small frown on my face.

Why did he have to be right?

"I know a lot of the people on that list." I then whispered, as my gaze turned to the phone, as Lorenzos brought a hand up to brush the back of my hair as he kissed the top of my head.

Marco closed his eyes in shame at my admission, because he too knew a few names. His hands flexing angrily.

"How?" Lorenzo whispered, as he let me pull away only slightly.

My hands brushing over my face and into to my hair anxiously. I thought I was past this part of my life.
I thought I'd never have to think about it again.

I wanted to drink. A lot.

I wasn't sure whether I wanted to drown myself in vodka, or Lorenzo.

Yet the comforting touch of Lorenzos hands on me, numbed the pain I knew would later come back to me. But I knew Lorenzo would still be here when it did.
He calmed my oceans like no other.

Both men looked at me for a answer, one they knew, Marco witnessed a lot of it when him and Lorenzo pulled that plan out of their asses—but a lot of it, a lot of it was from before, when Marco and Lorenzo were an ocean away. And I was...

Naked. A lot of them saw me change. Watched Satan touch me.Watched Satan put a collar around my neck. Watched—

I didn't give an answer, because Lorenzo already knew what I was going to say when I looked up and into his eyes.

His grey orbs, lightened by the feeling on my skin on mine, swept through my gaze for answers. My silence only adding onto his realizations.

I could tell he knew now because his eyes turned to molten ash. Like they always did when he was vengeful and untameably furious. When the calm in him eyes burned and he clenched his jaw in an attempt to control himself.

When his whole body would stiffen like rock, and he seeped with the want for death.

What a beast my lover could become, but oh I loved him still.

"Kill them." He growled as he shot his eyes to Marco, his voice rabid. "Kill them all."

do you really want to know how to beat monsters?

become one.
