I loved him blind and he loved me reckless

The wind howled like it was laughing at me, its gust tossing my hair and icing my skin. But to me, it didn't matter how cold the wind was; my skin felt too hot for me to notice. As I walked to the cluster of black SUVs parked meticulously on the paved drive I could feel his eyes watch me leave.

but what does he care anyhow, this was his plan all along wasn't it? This is how he wanted things to end...right?

Stopping for a mere moment I looked back, catching Lorenzo's eye as he stood surrounded by guards at the entrance of the doors, his hands folded behind his back, his face cold as stone. I quickly searched his face; but there was nothing, absolutely nothing.

Marco looked to Lorenzo in utter confusion, then to me with disbelief.

Lorenzo swiftly reached into his pocket, and lit a joint shortly between his teeth. His eyes straight on me as I was pulled towards fate.

"Keep walking." The man growled in warning, as he tugged on the chains and pushed me forward.

"Don't touch me." I snapped right back, as I pushed Lorenzo as far back in my mind as possible. I wasn't his anymore, I wasn't his problem now.

The man looked down at me and clenched his teeth, but I doubt he'd lay a hand on me here—he looked like he had a reputation to upkeep, and he looked like he had a mission; a mission he wasn't allowed to screw up or put at risk.

The man was tall, bulky...looked loyal, too loyal.

"Fucking bitch." He growled as he nodded for the doors of the head car to be opened.

My curious gaze falling back towards Lorenzo; or the place he was anyways. He was gone, the entry way all but empty. The joint he dropped and stepped on still smoking lowly as the ground snuffed it out.

what a bastard.

It's one thing to plan to sell me off to some rando—but littering? That's where I cross the fucking line.
Humour makes it hurt just a little less I guess

The car door opening fast I am pushed inside, before it slammed closed. The windows were tinted black And the front where the drivers sat was separated by a black cloth divider.

"She better be the real thing or I'm going to kill my self." The man grunted to another as him and a another man got into the back seat.

"You know I can hear you buddy." I smiled sweetly as I sat forward in my seat.

The man looked at me like I was an idiot, a clueless mutt. "Oh he's going to like your sharp tongue." He smiled as he lead forward too and looked me in my eyes.

He looked bad, but he also looked...I don't know.
"What's your names." I asked as I leaned back in my seat as far away from then as possible.

"Sorry princess that's not how this works." The lead man said as he folded his arms over his chest.
The second man was a redhead, tall and broad. But he just looked me over and smirked.

Coughing I said "well if I am a 'princess' as you said...I demand you to tell me your names." The redhead looked to the lead with narrow eyes

"It's Kingston." The redhead said finally, but not after a death glance from his friend. Kingston...Neat.

Changing my gaze to the still nameless man I stared at him intensely. After a minute I could tell he was uncomfortable. He looked pissed off.

"If I tell you will you shut up and sit still." He growled, and I almost flinched as his hand reached for his gun on instinct.

Closing my mouth I nodded.

"Satan." the man grunted.

Amd I swear I tried to hold back my laughter, I really tried. I laughed so hard my chest started to burn and I was without Oxygen. "S-Satan!?" I cackled as I hit my knee with my hand as I sat back in the seat in my fit.

His hair was black, his eyes a ruthless brown. He was fit, strong—he looked like he was a punisher.

"Ok ok no seriously what's your name?" I laughed as I wiped a tear that had built up on my under lid.

'Satan' is this motherfucker serious?

Thought He looked like he wanted to kill me, and he actually reached for his gun—but Kingston stopped him.

"He is not joking, now, no more speaking." Kingston snapped, eyes like lasers

Wrapping my arms around myself I turned away from the men as the last glimpse of Lorenzo base faded away into the heavy trees. I had driven this road with Lorenzo, not so long ago.

The two men watched me like I was a loaded gun, and I have to admit most of the time I am—but something...something now made it feel like I had no bullets left to shoot.

The ride was quite and cold. I sat silent as I stared at my hands, and I had stared quite until we reached an airstrip. A big midnight black plant stood waiting and ready

"Drink." Satan said as he held up a glass full of a clear liquid.

"What? What is this?" I asked as I sat up, and looked out the heavily tinted window.

"Drink." He demanded, this time with a lot less patience. Looking at him I grab the glass, looking at it then to him.

Pulling the glass to my lips I take a sip of the fowl liquid, and almost threw up as It slid down my throat.

It tasted like bitter apple cider.

Placing the glass down I look at the men, just as I feel my head lighten and my body become not mine.
Fear gripping my mind just before I passed out completely.

Marco POV

She looked back at him just before she stepped into the car, her eyes almost demanding an answer from him. But Lorenzo he just stood there, and watched as she left.

They were both idiots. Clueless about how much they needed each other.

Lorenzo was a bad man, he's always had a darkness following him. Ever since we were kids he took what he wanted, hurt who he pleased and listened to almost no one. But Serina somehow broke that pattern, stood up to him, challenged him. I saw the way he was around her, how much he had become to need her for his sanity.

But he was a proud man, and watched as she gave herself for him, he watched until he put out his joint and walked away. Barricading himself away in his office, too proud to admit that he needed her just as much as she needed him.

Serina is a fool if she thinks he doesn't want her.
She was loyal and determined but like Lorenzo she was reckless with her choices, she was brave and crazy but though she would never admit it, she liked to be wanted.

The first day I saw her I knew Lorenzo was interested, I have know him for over 20 years and never once has he looked at a woman the way he looked at Serina. He spared her life that day at the bottom of her stairs because he wanted to know why she didn't look away.

But now I think maybe she should have.

I have to admit I found her attractive when I first met her, And I'd be lying if I said I never thought about how good she'd be in bed—but she was the type of woman who needs someone like Lorenzo to keep her at bay. So that attraction I had for her morphed quickly into my love for her as a sister.

But they were both stupid. Pushed each other away, and now again do the same. She won't last once she finds out what she is going to be and I know Lorenzo
won't want to see her like that either. Because what he said, that she was his—she was, and he will always keep claim over her...even if she's not with him.

And that, that is dangerous.

"Lorenzo." I said as I knocked on his office door, opening it slowly at the answerless silence.

The room though was trashed—broken into a million pieces—his knuckles dripping with blood. "I want every trace of her things here gone." He said as he looked at me. His eyes were red, he was...he was hurt.

He was going to throw her away, to protect himself.
He was scared, doesn't know what the feeling in his chest is. He was going to ruin himself

"You have always been a proud man." I said as I stepped forward, his eyes narrowing as I ignored his demand. "But don't you dare let yourself mistake her leaving to help you and save your ass, as a betrayal."

"You better fucking watch yourself." He growled as he clenched his fists. He was mad, he needed to be mad. Because he was too fucking proud to admit he didn't want to lose her.

Smiling I looked at the ground "what happened to 'I will always protect Serina'? Lorenzo you know what is going to happen to her, and you just let her walk away." I said as I met his eyes.

"She chose to fucking leave. This was her choice." He said right back as he walked closer to me.

"Because she fucking loves you and wants you to be happy." I said, though Lorenzo never really will ever be happy. Not without her. "Your men's lives were on the line, and we both know she would never allow-"

"She just thinks she loves me, they all do." He said as raised his voice slightly. "The stupid attraction I had for her will fade with her life, and everything will be how it should be." He growled, but he was lying to himself.

Closing my eyes I shook my head. "If you told her her the truth earlier like she asked things could have been different."

Never once have I talked to him like this. But serina's life was worth it, she doesn't deserve to have her life broken because he's too fucked up to admit he needs her at his side.

"You know I couldn't fucking do that." He shot right back.

"Was it that you couldn't do it or that you were scared of her reaction?" I said "scared she's leave?"

He stared at me dead eyed, his hand reaching for his gun he pulls it from his belt and aims it to me. "I am getting fucking tired of you disrespecting me." He grunted as he ran his hand through his hair, his eyes pained and his stance shifted.

"She is probably going to die because of you, or more realistically," I paused. "She'll probably just wish she was dead." His body stiffened as the words left my mouth, but I said them because I knew it would flip something in him.

He needed someone to be mad at, and I knew he couldn't handle being mad at himself.

He dropped the gun and walked to me, swinging his fist and as he hit me I could feel our relationship dwindle further to the edge,

All because of a woman. His woman.
