Willow thought she had seen it all.
After all, when you live with three brothers and only your father for most of your life, you're bound to see some crazy things; which she has. She's seen her oldest brother get chased by a horde of ducks, and her father somehow catch an ice cream maker on fire. Not only that, but she's known Tanya for years and the secret that she carries within her, a secret she's forever kept hidden like Tanya had asked her to do so many years ago.
Although, nothing could prepare Willow as she came face-to-face with the small robot Tanya called Frenzy, his crimson optics staring into her dark brown eyes.
"Tanya," Willow didn't stutter as she spoke, her voice laced with a mix of confusion and curiosity. "What in the world..is that?" She knew it was a robot, that much was obvious. However, the last time Willow checked, robots didn't normally make things explode. At least, not ones that civilians owned.
"Frenzy isn't a thing, Willow." Tanya corrected gently as she carefully picked Frenzy up from off the ground, said bot moving up Tanya's arm to rest contently on her shoulder; his optics still locked on the new human. "He's a sentient being." There was a pause. "Who, by the way, shouldn't even be here." She sent Frenzy a pointed look which caused him to flinch slightly. "You also need to replace whatever you destroyed when you blew up that box, mister."
"S-Sorry." Frenzy apologized. "B-but Fr-Frenzy w-was stu-stuck." He had to get out of that box somehow and Barricade had taught him that the best way to get yourself out of a sticky situation was to fight your way out.
Though, he never mentioned that you shouldn't fight your way out if it involved destroying something that someone owned, but boy did he wish Barricade had; Tanya was clearly upset now.
"I don't care Frenzy, that stuff took me forever to pack!" Now Tanya was whining, all her hard work being destroyed in a matter of seconds. "Plus, you could have just told Sparky you were there, she would have told me." She added, raising an eyebrow at the sheepish looking bot.
'Dear,' Sparky's voice caught Tanya's attention for a moment as the ancient being spoke for the first time since Frenzy's revealing. 'I understand you're upset that your belongings were destroyed, and I know you're confused as to why Frenzy is here.' Sparky could feel Tanya's confusion as it leaked through their bond which only caused Sparky's suspicions to increase. 'But that poor girl is looking more confused than Sideswipe after you explained to him how hot dogs were made.'
Tanya snickered. She remembered the day Sideswipe had asked her how hot dogs were made after watching her eat one during one of her visits to Diego Garcia. She had to explain to the poor bot that no, hot dogs were not made out of cooked dogs.
Sideswipe has since then sworn to never let her eat another hot dog whenever she came to visit.
'It's not my fault 'Hide told Sides hot dogs were made out of dogs.' Tanya knew Ironhide wasn't fond of dogs, or rodents as he called them, but she didn't realize his hatred for the species ran that deep.
'Regardless, it's best you answer her questions.' Sparky paused. 'I would also like to know why you mentioned my name so openly.' She knew Tanya disliked talking about the ancient being that she harbored within her because it normally led to disaster or to people calling her crazy. So for her to openly mention Sparky like that, something had to be up.
Sparky knew Tanya wasn't telling her something.
'Er..I can explain.' Tanya muttered over her bond with Sparky. 'And I will!' She quickly added when she felt Sparky's annoyance filter through their bond. 'Just let me explain everything to Willow..everything will be explained then.'
When Sparky felt Tanya's nervousness and unease she knew the girl was worried about how Willow would react once she heard the truth. 'Of course dear,' Sparky murmured. 'Take your time, and don't worry. I don't think she'll react negatively to what you tell her.'
Tanya sighed heavily as she sent Willow a sheepish smile, said girl raising her eyebrows at Tanya as she waited for an explanation. 'I hope so..I just got her back.' There was a moment of awkward of silence before Tanya spoke again, this time to Willow. "So...I guess you have questions?" She smiled sheepishly again.
"When I'm with you Tanya, I seem to always have questions." The brown haired girl remarked simply as she slowly sat down on her bed. "Guess things haven't changed after all."
Tanya smiled.
"I guess not."
~*~
"You died!?" In the hour that it took Tanya to explain to Willow who Frenzy exactly was and how she came to know not only him but the other Autobots as well, Willow was completely calm and very accepting as she listened intently. She was, of course, surprised to find out that sentient beings from another planet actually existed, but was nonetheless accepting. After all, she was the first-and only-person that learned about Sparky and Willow still accepted her as a person.
"Willow, please calm down and let me explain.."
Though there was one thing Willow simply could not accept.
"Tanya, people don't just die and come back alive minutes later!" Willow might be studying to become a doctor, but it doesn't take a genius to know that if you die, you don't come back alive.
Unless you were Tanya apparently.
"I know!" Tanya sighed heavily. She wasn't going to get anywhere if Willow didn't let her explain herself. "Just..listen alright? I know I shouldn't be alive, okay? Sparky doesn't even know why I am." She paused, pursing her lips. "Just be happy I'm alive and not a Tanya pancake."
With pursed lips, Willow sighed heavily and adjusted her glasses on her face. "I apologize," Worry filled brown eyes met icy blue eyes. "I suppose I just hate knowing you were dead..that you should be dead."
It wasn't the fact that Tanya had come into contact with sentient beings from another planet that bothered her so much, it was the fact that she nearly lost Tanya without her knowing about it. What if she had stayed dead? Willow wouldn't have known her long time best friend had died, and during a war between an alien race nonetheless.
"You're not the only one." Tanya murmured softly. Along with Willow, Sparky was completely baffled by Tanya's resurrection. According to her, Tanya was completely gone during the time she spoke with this supposed Icon. She couldn't feel Tanya's presence nor could she feel their bond. That enough was too much for Sparky.
She had never, in her century-long existence, had ever felt such an immense amount of panic than when she couldn't feel her bond that tied her to Tanya. In other words:
The Allspark was utterly terrified during those few minutes.
"I'm guessing Sparky doesn't like it either?" Willow guessed after a moment as her eyebrows furrowed slightly. "Isn't she part of you though?" From what Tanya told her all those years ago it seemed that she and Sparky couldn't be separated unless Tanya..."Oh." Willow's voice was soft as the sudden realization hit her. "I'm sorry.."
'Tell her it's alright, dear.' Sparky's voice was gentle as she spoke for the first time since Tanya began explaining things to Willow. 'She's still learning how things work.' Even though Sparky didn't like remembering how she felt that day, Willow deserved to know as much as Tanya was willing to tell.
"Sparky wants you to know it's alright, Willow Tree." A smile was on Tanya's face as she spoke. "She doesn't blame you for asking questions since you're still learning how certain things work." She paused and then snorted. "I'm one complicated fragger..aren't I?"
'I'd say.'
"Fragger?" Willow questioned in confusion before she smiled. "Yes, yes you are complicated Tai, but I love you for that." Willow hated simple things and preferred to challenge her brain.
Tanya was the perfect challenge, a challenge she loved.
"Aw, I love you too Willow Tree, no matter how stupid you make me feel sometimes." Tanya grinned as she spoke before snorting. "Fragger, it's a Cybertronian curse word meaning fucker." She could hardly contain her laughter when she saw Willow's eyes widen. "Which means that frag would mean fuck, too."
"Tanya!" Willow's voice was shrill as she stared wide-eyed at the purple haired girl. "You know I hate cursing!"
'How did this young woman ever put up with you if she dislikes vulgar language?' Sparky asked in surprise. 'If I didn't know any better I would have thought you to be a sailor!'
'She loves me so she puts up with it.' Tanya remarked in reply, grinning 'innocently' at Willow. "Sorry Willow, but I didn't expect you to repeat the word!" She chuckled. "Besides, you know how I am, don't be so surprised."
Willow stared blankly at Tanya before groaning, falling back on her bed with a sigh. "How does Sparky put up with you?" She muttered, shaking her head. "I'd lose my mind."
'Unlike most humans, Tanya has a mute button.' Sparky paused. 'Please do tell her I said that.' Sparky wanted Willow to know just how alive she really was. That, and that she had her own sense of humor.
"Tanya?" Willow frowned slightly when a choked gasp came from Tanya; her eyes wide in what seemed to be shock. "Everything alright?"
"S.." Tanya slowly blinked. "Sparky wants me to tell you.." She sucked in a breath as a shit eating grin spread across her face. "That unlike most humans....I have a mute button." Laughter bubbled in Tanya's throat as Willow digested her words before she broke out laughing; both girls grinning as they laughed.
"S-she said t-that?" Willow gasped out between her laughter. "Sparky d-did?"
Tanya could only nod as she hugged herself around her stomach, her laughter only increasing. She knew Sparky could be sassy at times, but Primus did she throw her off sometimes by just how sassy she really was.
'I'm glad I could make the both of you laugh, dear.' Tanya could hear the smile in Sparky's voice as she spoke, but she also knew Sparky still had her own questions. 'But..I would still like to know how Willow came to know of my existence.'
'Oh right.' Tanya's laughter slowly came to a stop as she glanced at Willow. 'Just one second Sparky.' She took a deep breath before waving her hand to catch Willow's attention, said girl blinking as she looked at her friend. "I know I still have a lot to explain." Tanya started, biting her lip nervously. "But...Sparky really wants to know how you found out about her."
"Oh!" Willow adjusted her glasses on her face as she slowly sat up, clearing her throat as she glanced at Tanya with a small smile. "Can she hear me?" She asked curiously. Willow was more than willing to tell Sparky how she found about her; it was one of her favorite memories.
Tanya nodded. "She can. Although, I'll have to respond for her if she has anything to say."
"Alright," Willow gestured for Tanya to come closer. "I suppose it's story time." She smiled.
As far as stories go, the story of how Willow and Tanya met was a simple one. It was just another normal school day for the two young girls. Well, normal for Willow. For Tanya, she was still battling herself as she got used to being around so many people that didn't want to harm her.
Or, at least most people didn't want to.
"Hey Grape!" The voice of Trent DeMarco once again tormented Tanya as she tried to avoid anything that moved and breathed. "Where do you think you're going?" Even during his younger days Trent was, as Tanya would say, a massive dick.
"Don't worry about it." The young girl mumbled. "Just leave me alone Trent." She had only been at school for a week and already she was the center of attention that was both good and bad.
And all because of her bright purple hair.
"Aw, don't play shy Grape." Trent's voice was a hiss as he roughly grabbed Tanya by the arm, said girl flinching from the contact. "I just want to talk."
Tanya didn't respond and instead kept her head hung. She didn't dare fight back. Fighting back only brought her more pain.
"Trent let her go!" A new and unknown voice reached Tanya's ears which caused her to frown. What was this person doing?
"Well look who it is," Trent scoffed but didn't loosen his grip on Tanya's arm. "It's the Midget."
Midget? Tanya had never heard that name before which caused her curiosity to get the best of her as she slowly raised her head; blinking at the sight in front of her.
A girl who was only a few inches above four feet stood there, her hands on her hips. "I said let her go Trent, she obviously doesn't want to talk to you." The girl's dark brown eyes, which were framed with red glasses, glared at Trent.
Trent once again scoffed. "What if I don't?" It was then he smirked. "What're you gonna do then?"
Tanya frowned. The girl would most likely give up and leave her alone with Trent. She didn't know Tanya so she had no reason to help her.
"I will slap that stupid smirk right off your fat face." But perhaps Tanya was wrong.
"Excuse me?" Trent was fuming now. How dare the shortest person in their school threaten him? "Do you know who I am, Midget?"
"An egotistical jerk?"
Tanya's eyes widened to the size of saucers as Trent shoved her away, her back slamming against the wall as Trent slowly stalked towards the girl that had the guts to threaten him.
"I dare you to say something else, Midget." Venom laced Trent's words as he towered over the girl, his hands balled into tight fists as he glared down at her. "I freaking dare you."
"You don't scare me you egotistical, two-faced moron." She smiled up at Trent, seemingly unaffected by his height. "I'm not going to let you hurt that girl either."
Tanya could only stare at this girl with wide eyes as her heart pounded in her chest. Why? Why was this girl throwing herself into a fight she couldn't win just for her sake? Tanya didn't know the girl and as far as she knew, the girl didn't know her. So why?
Why would anyone help her?
"That's it!" Trent's anger had reached its boiling point. He was tired of playing games. "You need to learn a lesson, Midget!" With a growl of anger, Trent raised his hand to slap the brown eyed girl. "People like you and Grape need to learn your place!"
The girl steeled herself as Trent's hand came flying towards her face and was ready to take the hit.
But the hit never came.
"Fucking asshole." A voice growled, a certain purple haired girl standing over a cowering Trent. "People like YOU need to learn your place."
In the moment before Trent's hand slapped the girl, Tanya had rushed forward and shoved Trent away with a strength she hadn't felt in a very long time; kicking him the stomach once as an added precaution.
"Y-you jerk!" Trent forced out, flinching when Tanya raised her foot to kick him again.
"I think he's learned his lesson." Tanya slowly blinked, her body tensing as she glanced over at the girl that was nearly slapped. "You might get in trouble too if you hurt him more." She smiled at Tanya. "But thank you for saving me, I'm glad I didn't get slapped in the face."
Tanya could only stare at the girl, her mouth parted slightly as she tried to find words to say. What could she say? What should she say? This girl was showing her a kindness that very few people have. She wasn't used to someone being kind to her and if she was being honest with herself...
It scared her.
"Ugh! You're all freaks!" Trent snapped as he shoved himself to his feet, glaring at both of them. "Giant freaks." With one last growl he stomped away, leaving the two girls in an awkward silence.
"So," Tanya glanced towards the girl; blinking when she saw her smiling at her again. "My name's Willow Ross." She paused before she slowly extended her hand towards Tanya. "I understand you're the new girl right?" Tanya nodded silently, staring at Willow's hand with uncertainty. "Well..since everyone needs a friend, and you're new here.." Willow grinned then. "Would you like to be my friend?"
Those six words were all it took to make Tanya break. In an instant, Tanya's walls crumbled around her and she broke down, tears streaming down her face as she sat in that hallway with Willow; blabbering about everything that she's been through and everything she's still going through.
Willow was surprised at first when Tanya started telling her about herself but that slowly melted away into a new emotion that the two of them would forever share.
For, it was that day that Tanya found the first person that she could fully trust with everything that she carried on her shoulders. She didn't have to be afraid of being hated or being called a monster.
She could finally be herself.
"-and that's the story of how Tanya saved me but saved herself at the same time." Willow finished her story with a light voice and a small smile. "I still think that telling me about your existence Sparky wasn't smart on her part, but in that moment I don't think Tanya could have been any more crystal clear on how she felt."
Sparky paid close attention to Willow's words but also to a certain bond as well. 'Dear..are you alright?' Once Willow had started explaining how she met Tanya said girl had been silent.
And Tanya was never silent unless something was bothering her.
'I..' She frowned. '..I forgot how weak I was back then..' If there was one thing Tanya hated it was being weak or showing weakness in front of people. During the time that Sector Seven experimented on her, Tanya was weak-she couldn't do anything. Once she was free, she was afraid, hurt, and longing for someone to care for her like Sparky did.
But then she met Willow and suddenly the urge to not be weak hit her full force and she changed. A change she wanted to keep for as long as she lived.
'Dear,' Sparky sent wave after wave of love and reassurance to Tanya when she felt her distress. 'The person you were back then is gone. She's been replaced by the real you who never got a chance to shine, until now.'
Tanya smiled slightly at Sparky's words, said being somehow able to always silent her worries, even if it only helped a little bit. 'Thank you, Sparky..' With a quiet sigh she glanced at Willow who was watching her with worried eyes. "Don't worry, you didn't say or do anything...I was just being my normal self-conscious self."
Willow didn't look convinced but let it slide. She knew Tanya still had problems when it came to talking about her old self and knew it was better to change the subject before Tanya dove too deep into that dark hole. "So..what did Sparky think?"
'I think a certain someone needs to learn what it means to keep a secret.' Sparky mused. 'But..I must say I am pleased to know someone was taking care of you while we were parted.'
Tanya scoffed slightly at Sparky's first remark but sent Willow a smile. "Sparky's happy to know I had someone looking out for me while we were parted." She paused, snorting when she felt a tug from Sparky. "But according to her, I apparently suck at keeping secrets."
Willow chuckled quietly, once again adjusting her glasses on her face. "Well, someone had to keep an eye on you, you were always causing trouble." She grinned at the sour look on Tanya's face. "I also agree with her, you really do need to learn what it means to keep a secret."
'Dear,' Tanya blinked at how damn smug Sparky sounded. 'We must keep this girl around...I like her.'
'You only like her because she agrees with you.' Tanya responded in a slight grumble, shaking her head.
'Perhaps..but she also knows how to put up with your, as you say, crap. It'll be nice having someone else around that knows how to keep you in check.'
Tanya could only gape at Sparky's words.
Willow frowned slightly when she saw Tanya get a faraway look in her eyes and as her facial expressions changed ever so slightly. "Is she alright?" She glanced at Frenzy who was busy surfing the Internet for poisons that could kill a human without being detected once the body was examined.
"T-talking to Sp-Sparky." The small bot explained, glancing up at Willow with a slight shrug. "H-happens of-often."
"Ah." Willow hummed in understanding before she glanced curiously at Frenzy. "What are you doing? You've been quiet for awhile now." She tilted her head curiously as Frenzy shuttered his optics before looking at her.
"Wh-what p-oison kil-kill h-humans?" He asked with a tilted helm. "N-no d-detection." He added, shifting slightly. How was she going to respond to a question like that? Tanya would probably kick his aft for asking such a question.
But not Willow.
"You want to know what poisons can kill a human without being detected?" Willow repeated as a slow, sadistic looking grin spread across her face.
Frenzy nodded. "Y-you know?"
Willow nodded slowly, very slowly. "Oh, yes, I know." She glanced at Tanya who was still conversing with Sparky. "Want me to tell you?"
Frenzy nodded once more as he slowly neared Willow. "F-Frenzy wa-want t-to know."
"Great!"
With a quiet cackle, Willow began her explanation on what poisons could go undetected and which ones couldn't; Frenzy recording her words for later use.

"Barricade." Said mech growled lowly as that man's pit spawned voice once spoke over the comm. "Do not fail this mission." The man's voice left no room for argument. "If we don't get what we want, I will have her killed."
As if he needed to be reminded twice. "I understand." He all but growled. "You need not remind me, Bill."
"Good." There was a chuckle and Barricade was forced to once again repress a growl as Bill spoke again. "Alice is already doing her part in getting the boy."
"Understood." Barricade's voice was forced, strained even. Why can't this fragging idiot silence himself already?
"I'll leave the rest to you then." The sound of shifting metal reached Barricade's audio receptors and he vented heavily. "Report once the seed is planted. Bill out."
"Fragging finally!" Barricade practically roared. He was on the verge of squishing that man under his pede like the bug he was, but he knew if he did it would only result in more damage.
As if what he was doing was any better.
He vented and tinted his windows as he drove into the town that would lead him to Princeton University; his spark aching with every minute that passed.
The Autobots had already attempted to contact him several times and he knew it was only a matter of time until they contacted Tanya and informed her of his sudden disappearance.
Which is when she'll find out he lied to her and his spark ached to even think about it.
With one last vent Barricade continued on forward with a heavy spark and dread filling his tanks.
It was time to complete the mission he was given, a mission he took in order to protect the one human he allowed himself to care about.
The very human he knew would never forgive him.

"Reading a book again?" Willow glanced up briefly from her book only to see Tanya staring down at her with raised brows. "Come on Willow Tree, I know you love reading books, but there's gotta be something fun we can do!"
Willow chuckled and gently closed her book after making sure her bookmark was in place. "Well," She drawled. "There is a frat party going on at the moment that Sammy so generously invited us to.." It was her turn to raise her eyebrows at Tanya. "We could always go there." Willow wasn't exactly a fan of parties but she had to give Tanya something to do otherwise she'd never finish her book.
"Absolutely not!" Tanya screeched with a violent shake of her head. "There is no way we're going anywhere near that party!" Like Willow, Tanya was nowhere near being a fan of parties, especially frat parties.
Willow shrugged and returned to her book. "Then I suppose you'll have to entertain yourself then." She hummed quietly as she flipped a page in her book. "Now if you don't mind, I have a murder to solve."
'Perhaps you should try reading a book.' Sparky suggested, trying to keep the smirk out of her voice. 'Willow seems to enjoy it.'
Tanya grunted. "You know I hate reading with a passion, Sparky." She muttered out loud.
"If you must speak to Sparky, please do it mentally. I am trying to read here, Tai." Willow muttered as her eyebrows furrowed in concentration.
With a grunt Tanya sat down on her bean bag with a heavy sigh. 'I didn't realize college was going to be this boring.'
'It's not boring, dear, you just can't seem to keep yourself entertained long enough.' Sparky mused.
Just as a loud ringing caught Tanya's attention.
"Frenzy?" Said bot was currently transformed as Tanya's phone and ringing loudly from her bed. "I have a phone call?" The confusion was clear as day on her face.
'It seems you do.' Sparky paused. '..Which means it's someone from base.' There were very few people who had Frenzy's comm number, and those who did were either extremely close to Tanya or had earned Frenzy's trust.
Either way, it was definitely someone from that damn base Tanya was trying to avoid.
'Great, I wonder what problems I caused now.' With a heavy sigh Tanya crawled over to her bed and gently picked up the still ringing Frenzy; blinking in confusion when she saw the caller ID. "Jazz?"
'Why on Earth would he be calling you at this time?' Sparky voiced both her and Tanya's thoughts as Tanya stared at the phone in her hands.
'I..don't know.' As far as she knew, the bots normally contacted her through their bonds since it was easier and no one could listen in on their conversations. 'I guess we're about to find out though.' Tanya stole a glance at Willow who was still glued to her book and sighed, slowly pressing answer. "Jazz?"
"Oh thank Primus!" Jazz's relieved voice made Tanya frown. "Lil' lady I'm glad ya answered!"
"Why wouldn't I answer?" Tanya asked, frowning deeper when there was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone. "Jazz? Is something wrong?"
"Ya don't know?" Unbeknownst to Tanya, Jazz was frowning on the other end. "Lil' lady..we thought ya had been taken."
Tanya froze as a cold feeling suddenly washed over her, her heart beating a bit faster than it was a moment before. "What do you mean..you thought I was taken?" She asked slowly, eyeing Willow out of the corner of her eye as she slowly put down her book and began listening. "I've been at college with Sam..."
"Sweetspark.." Jazz's voice went soft for a moment as he vented. "We can't contact 'Cade."
"What?" Jazz flinched at Tanya's clipped voice. "What do you mean you can't contact Barricade?" Jazz was beginning to worry her. "Shouldn't he be on that mission Optimus assigned him?"
Silence.
"Jazz." There was a warning in Tanya's voice as she tugged on their bond none too gently. "Where's Barricade?"
Before Jazz responded he gently tugged on their bond and Tanya shivered as Jazz sent her wave after wave of feeling.
Anger being clouded by worry and confusion.
"Sweetspark, there is no mission." Frenzy slowly slipped from Tanya's hand as Jazz continued speaking. "'Cade lied."
