"So let me get this straight," Ron says, his eyes narrowed at Will. "You want to adopt Tanya, and you haven't even known her for a day?" Will shuffles his feet nervously, clearing his throat.
"Indeed," Will says nervously. "I have only known Tanya for one day." It's clear, just by his voice, that he's nervous. Hell, even I'm nervous! If Ron doesn't approve of Will adopting me, then he can't.
"And what makes you think I'll let a man who has only known Tanya for one day, adopt her?" Ron asks, his eyebrows raised; arms crossed in front of him. I sigh, leaning back in my chair. The room, similar to the one we were in before, is becoming stuffy with all of this tension.
'This tension is killing me.' I grumble.
'You'll live.' Sparky replies, humor clearly lacing her words.
"I don't expect you to, honestly." Will says, taking me by surprise. "I know you want what's best for Tanya, sir. But that's exactly what I want." Ron nods, waving a hand telling Will to continue. "I want Tanya to have a family, I want for people to care for her. I want her to know she's loved, and that she has a place in a real family."
'I'm going to start crying again.' I remark, blinking my eyes to stop myself from crying.
"That's exactly what my wife and I want." Ron retorts. Will nods, but doesn't give up.
"That's what I've heard, but Tanya has said she could never fit in with your family. Correct?" Will turns to me as he finishes.
'Well shit.' I hiss, looking down.
"Is it?" Ron asks, looking at me with eyes full of confusion. I nod, sighing.
"I feel as though I could never fit in with you guys," I start, keeping my eyes trained on the floor. "It felt wrong to intrude on your family like that, so I couldn't except your offer to be adopted."
I still remember the day I came across their house, begging for a place to stay. It was a week after I gained my freedom. To this day I am still surprised they took me in, even though I refused to let them adopt me.
Ron sighs as he rubs his temples, looking me dead in the eyes. "I suppose as long as you're happy," He starts, causing a smile to spread across my face. "But are you sure about this Tai? Are you sure you're ready to take this step?" He asks, putting his hands on my shoulders as he stares down at me.
Am I ready?
Am I prepared to enter a new family, especially after what happened in my last?
Will looks at me, his eyes full of hope. Ron looks down at me, his eyes telling me it's my choice.
My choice.
Those two words echo in my head, telling me once again I have to make a choice that will change my life.
First I had to choose to whether live or die. Now, I have to decide whether or not I'm willing to enter a new family.
'Follow your heart, dear.' Sparky says softly. 'Only it can tell you how to answer.'
Follow my heart?
I look over at Will, and then back up at Ron. I heave a sigh, my eyes shining in determination.
"I want nothing more than to be apart of his family."

Goodbyes.
I've always hated them. As I stand in front of Sam, Judy, and Ron as we say our goodbyes, I can't help but feel upset.
"Come visit alright?" Sam mumbles as he hugs me. "I'm going to miss you Tai." He adds softly. I smile as I hug him back, tears pricking at my eyes once again.
"I promise I will," I whisper. "And I'm going to miss you too, Sam. Even though your are an ass." He snorts as he playfully slaps my shoulder, stepping back to let Judy say her goodbyes next.
"My little Tai-Dye is all grown up." She whimpers; already crying her eyes out. I smile at her, bringing her into a hug.
"I had to grow up sooner or later, Judes." I say softly. She sniffles, looking at me with tear filled eyes. What I did not expect was for her to pull a metal bat out of nowhere, and point it at Barricade's holoform who stood a few feet behind me.
"You better keep her safe!" Jude orders, waving her bat around threateningly.
Where she keeps it...the world may never know.
Barricade grunts, rolling his eyes. "I'll do my best." He grumbles, sending me a small smile. Believe it or not, I've been able to get Barricade to smile at moments; moments like this.
Judy eyes him with narrowed eyes, but eventually nods in approval; her metal bat disappearing.
Ron clears his throat, catching everyone's attention. "We should probably get going." He says, stepping forward. I nod, sending the three of them small smiles.
"I'll call soon." I promise as they head for Bee, who's currently waiting in his alt. mode. They nod, and wave at me before hoping into Bee.
I watch as they drive off, Bee sending me a farewell honk, before they finally disappear. After a moment I turn towards the others, sighing.
"I suppose we should get going too." I say, looking up at Optimus. He nods, his optics locking onto me.
"Of course, we wouldn't want to keep you from meeting your new family." His voice rumbles above me. Will hums in agreement, patting Ironhide's door.
"I can second that." I smile. Will hasn't been able to see his little girl yet, or so he's told me.
"I'll see you guys soon?" I ask, looking up at Optimus and Ratchet, the only two who are staying at the Hoover Dam since Ironhide, 'Cade, Bee, and Jazz all have humans to guard.
"In one week, young one." Ratchet replies. "As we promised." I nod, softly tugging on their bonds.
"I'll be counting the days." I remark with a smile. I turn to Will, smiling at him.
"Ready?" I ask. He nods, Ironhide's door opening for him.
"We'll meet you there, kiddo." He says warmly before hoping into Ironhide. I look over at Barricade, or at his holoform to be exact.
"Ready?" I ask with a tilt of my head. He shrugs, walking over to his alt. mode.
"As long as you are." I snort, following after him; climbing into his passenger side. I don't see Frenzy anywhere, so he's probably sleeping somewhere inside 'Cade's glove compartment.
As I shrink down into the seat the seat belt immediately wraps around my chest.
"Do you know where to go?" I ask once Barricade starts his engine, his holoform sitting behind the wheel.
"Ironhide sent me the directions, so yes." He replies as he starts driving, following after Ironhide. I nod, yawing.
"Well," I remark. "This has been eventful." 'Cade snorts, shaking his head at my remark.
"Indeed it has." He says, his crimson eyes locked on the road. I find myself staring at Barricade, taking him in.
You are the Yin to his Yang.
Sparky's words echo in my head as I continue to stare at him.
When I asked Sparky why his bond was stronger than Ironhide's, that's what she said. She said I'm the Yin to his Yang.
Who knew someone like Sparky could learn something like that from the internet.
But, it did get me thinking.
From what Barricade has told me, he's bee mistreated, misunderstood, and ignored just like I have. No one ever believed in him, except Frenzy.
But....then I came along.
"You showed me the light." He had said when we were talking alone the other day.
Do we really have that much in common?
~3rd Person Pov~
Barricade knew she was staring of course, and he could care less at the moment. "Like what you see?" He remarks, smirking when she turns away.
"Haha," Tanya remarks dryly, her hair covering her face; hiding her blushed cheeks. "So funny." Barricade smiles, taking a second to look at her before focusing his eyes back on the road.
They sit in a comfortable silence, the silence being interrupted when Tanya yawns, catching his attention.
"Sleep," Barricade orders softly. "I'll wake you up when we get there." Tanya nods, her eyes closing.
"Okay...and thanks....'Cade." Tanya murmurs before sleep takes over. Barricade, believing her to be asleep, places his hand over hers, squeezing it gently.
"Anything for you Sweetspark," He whispers, keeping his hand on hers as he turns back to focusing on the road; a smile on his face.
Although, Tanya was not fully asleep. And therefor heard what he said, and felt his hand grip hers.
She sits there, her heart racing. She couldn't understand why she suddenly felt butterflies in her stomach.
Or why she felt sparks when Barricade touched her.
As confused as she might be, she knew the answer.
It was him.
For some, unexplainable reason, Barricade was causing her to feel like this. And try as she might, she couldn't help but like what she was feeling.
Meanwhile, a certain bot was smirking from its place in his creator's glove compartment. And an ancient being was smirking from within the mind of its holder.
