An Heir to The Throne

Fire burnt in his mouth and smoke started to come out of Belloc's mouth as the King of the Kaiju got on four and started walking around slowly while Duncan, (Y/n) and Isabel continued to hide behind the car.

"Is he smelling for you?" (Y/n) asked quietly to Duncan as she watched Belloc slowly looked around the surroundings.

"He must know my scent. (Y/n), I'm not kidding about him being my dad. Grab Isabel and run!" Duncan said, holding (Y/n)'s shoulder with a serious look and just after he said that, the car behind them was lifted up in the air and Duncan instinctively pulled (Y/n) into his arms for cover as they looked up to see Belloc starting down at them along with a snarl.

"I said run!" Duncan shouted, looking back right into Belloc's eyes with his eyes narrowed as he let go of (Y/n) who looked at him worriedly, "But-!"
"(Y/n), come on!" Isabel yelled and grabbed (Y/n)'s hand as she started running away from where they were, pulling her best friend along with her. The two girls gasped and halted their steps when Belloc put down his tail in front of them, blocking their path.

(Y/n) pulled Isabel aside to the rocks for cover in the shadows and looked back at Duncan and Belloc who were still glaring at each other. Not too long after, Belloc raised his tail once again and Isabel started running again hesitantly while (Y/n) remained in her spot. 'Was Belloc really letting them away just like that?' she doubtfully wondered in her mind. And just then, Belloc started to slam his tail back down to the ground and the (h/c) girl gasped, quickly turning her attention to her best friend who was unaware of this.

"Isabel, look out!" she yelled and pushed Isabel out of the way just in time, but unfortunately, she didn't have time to save herself as Belloc's tail crashed down on her and trapped her there, causing (Y/n) to let out a yelp in pain as she groaned in a daze and shook her head. "(Y/n)!"

"NO! Let her go! You'll crush her!" Duncan yelled worriedly once he saw what Belloc was doing to (Y/n). He grabbed a red motorcycle that was parked just near him and swung it as hard as he could towards Belloc with a grunt. It hit into Belloc's face and exploded into pieces while Belloc only let out an evil chuckle and looked back at Duncan who continued to glare at him.

"I SAID LET HER GO!" Duncan demanded to him once again and dodged out of the way when Belloc reached out to grab him. He started running away from the girls as fast as he could and Belloc started to go after him, removing his tail from (Y/n) who took in a sharp breathe and quickly got back onto her feet as she watched Duncan ran and led Belloc away from them while catching her breath, "Duncan."
"Oh my god, (Y/n). Are you alright?" Isabel asked, quickly rushing over to her best friend's side as she helped her stable her feet while staring after Belloc and Duncan. "I'm fine, Isa. But I've got to go after Duncan and help him. We can't let Belloc take him!" (Y/n) replied to her with determined eyes as she told Isabel to go straight back to her home before getting on a nearby motorcycle where it still had its keys on it.

She started the engine and immediately started racing after the direction where Duncan and Belloc took off to at full speed. Soon, she started to catch up with the two and she gasped, watching Duncan run as fast as he could from Belloc. "Duncan!" she called, dodging a flying trash can that came back bouncing in her way as she sped up the motorcycle more, trying her best to catch up with the two.

And she caught up with them just in time to see Belloc breathing out his flames in Duncan's direction. "NOO!!!" she yelled with a horrified feeling crawling up in her chest as she watched Duncan get covered in flames. But then, her eyes widened and she let out a sigh in relief when she saw that Duncan was still standing there, unharmed and that it was only his jacket that turned into ashes.

Duncan seemed surprised with himself as well that he didn't burn down into ashes after being flamed with his dad's powerful fire breath as he shook the remaining ashes of his jacket from his body away, unaware of Belloc who was starting to gain on him. Seeing that and only finally just reaching the two, (Y/n) called out worriedly to Duncan as loud as she could, "Duncan, look out!"

Duncan turned around when he heard her call his name and immediately started running again before Belloc could catch him. But, it was too late. Belloc quickly reached out and gabbed a hold of Duncan in his hand as he started to stand up once more.
"No!! Let him go!" (Y/n) yelled as she stopped the engine and quickly got off. She gasped and dodged just in time when Belloc noticed her and tried to attack her with his tail once again before he got off the driveway and started walking his way into the desert along with Duncan in his hand.

"Duncan!" (Y/n) called as she ran towards the rail, following them as far as she could. "No..." she muttered underneath her breathe as she sighed frustrately with tears threatening to fall from her eyes. This was the furthest she could follow and there was no way she could follow them from their trail with just a motorcycle.

There was nothing she could do at the moment and she knew it. If she wants to get Duncan back, she needed a plan.

All (Y/n) could do was watch Belloc walked away from the scene as he disappeared into the night along with Duncan in his hand.

After a while, somewhere in the desert,

It's been about an hour ever since Belloc suddenly showed up. Duncan didn't know how long it had been that he's been trapped in his father's hand or where he was being taken to.

He was lost in his thoughts for a while, wondering whether (Y/n) and Isabel were safe or not. Not to mention that today was supposed to be a good day where he and (Y/n) have a nice date and just have fun. He sighed, remembering what almost happened before Troy showed up. His mind recalled to the moment how her (e/c) eyes widened with pure shock when he told her about Belloc being his dad. Sure, she didn't freak out when she found out that he could breathe fire, but this one was different.

He was the son of Belloc, King of the Kaijus. Of course, he couldn't blame her if she was gonna scream and run away from him like everyone else did. He sighed once again and looked around when he realized he was still in Belloc's hand without having any idea of where he's being taken to. "Where are you taking me?!" Duncan asked only to get silence and the sound of heavy footsteps back in return as his answer.

Frustrated and irritated, Duncan took a deep breathe and breathed out fire at Belloc's face which finally let Belloc to stop and look at him. He growled and brought Duncan closer to his face with a chuckle.

"Excellent," Belloc said, much to Duncan's surprise.

"Duncan...let me look at you," Belloc said, taking a good look into Duncan's features which reflected in his glowing red eyes.

"Why don't you just kill me and get it over with?" Duncan said, narrowing his eyes. "If I wanted to kill you, you'd be dead," Belloc said, inhaling deeply as he spoke, making an eye contact with Duncan properly for the first time in ever. He continued to walk a few more steps with Duncan still in his hand and came to stop at a small pond in front of them.

Belloc stared into the water for a few seconds, making Duncan wonder what would have possibly in there for a fire breathing dragon like his father.
He watched Belloc inhaled deeply once more before he breathed out an enormous waves of flame so hot that even Duncan has to cover his face from such heat.

Soon enough, all the water from the pond vaporized and the ground started shaking as it started to tear apart once again. Smoke hurled out from the cracked opening and when they disappeared, Belloc put Duncan on his neck and got on all four as he started running into a now revealed underground cave while Duncan held onto his father and watched around, amazed.

"We're an ancient race to Duncan, so old we became myths to the humans," Belloc started while he continued to run deeper into the dark underground cave which eventually turned into a cave full of huge crystals all over the place. "They call us invaders, when it is they who have infested our world."

Soon, Belloc eventually came to a stop somewhere in the cave and finally let Duncan stand on his feet, giving him time to look around.

Duncan walked around near the huge rocks of crystal in curiosity where he came upon a little crystal planted in a bigger one. He picked the little crystal out of the rock and held it in his hand. It started glowing beautifully in a bright shade of red, reminding Duncan of how a certain (h/c) haired girl looks when she smiles at him brightly. A warm fuzzy feeling spread through his chest at the thought of her and Duncan smiled, gently holding the crystal tight in his hand as he decided to keep it with him.

"Where are we?" he asked, keeping the crystal in his pocket while Belloc leaned down towards him. "Home, Duncan. Your true home," Belloc said and Duncan's eyes widened as he turned back to him. "No way. This isn't my home. That doesn't change just because my father's a Kaiju!" Duncan said, waving his hand away in front of Belloc, showing him that he refuses to stay here.

"I'm not a Kaiju. I'm Belloc, King of the Kaiju! Though you're my son, you're weak!" Belloc said, making Duncan narrowed his eyes as he breathed heavily. He picked up a huge crystal infested deep in the ground and lifted it up before throwing it towards the bigger crystals near Belloc, shattering it to pieces.

"I'm strong enough!" Duncan said, determined to prove his strength as his eyes met with Belloc's once again.
"No. The human world has made your heart soft. You must be hard and remorseless if you are to rule over the Kaiju," Belloc said and stopped for a while as if he heard something.

"Listen. They're assembling. They've caught our sense. Come," he said and let down his hand on the ground for Duncan to climb up as he picked him up once more in his hand.
"There's a war coming, Duncan, between humans and Kaijus, a war that could end everything. It's a terrible burden to bear. But for the good of all, you've no choice," Belloc said, walking further into the cave full of mysterious crystals.

"You think I'm going to be a King of these creatures? I'm not a monster!" Duncan said, unable to believe what he was really hearing.

"You're my son! You're half-Kaiju, Duncan, superior to everyone you've ever known," Belloc replied, looking into Duncan's eyes as he pointed out his clawed finger at Duncan who held it in place before it dug into his face. He frowned when he heard his father's words. "That's why you brought me here? You ignored me for 16 years and you expect to train me for something that I don't even want?!" he said and gasped when he saw the huge fire cave with full of lava underneath to where they stand.

Not a moment or two later at their arrival, other Kaijus who were big, but not as big as Belloc was appeared from each edges of the rock, across the cave. All eyes fell on their King and the boy in his hand as they snarled and looked at them, flashing their clawed arms.

Belloc looked at them and spoke as he held Duncan at front, presenting him to the Kaijus he ruled.
"I'm your King. And this is my son," he said and the Kaijus from across the cave growled angrily at his words.
"You desecrate our race!"
"You shamed our ceremony!"
"Bad enough you keep us from exterminating the human vermin. Now you mate with them," one of the Kaijus said and Belloc growled as he roared.

"Who challenges their King?! You, Abaddon? Or you, Astaroth?!" Belloc said, looking straight at the two Kaijus who started the fuse. They hissed, but said no more as they all took a step back in fear.

"I thought as much. Then, I've made my choice. This is Duncan, my heir!" Belloc said, presenting Duncan who has been silent this whole time to all of the Kaijus in front of him. Duncan let out a light gasp, turning back to his father who has just announced him as the official heir to all Kaijus.
"W-What happens now?" he asked. Before he could get an answer, Duncan yelled as Belloc suddenly threw him into the huge sea of lava that was below them out of blue.

All eyes fell on Duncan including Belloc's as they snarled and watched him try to swim in the lava pit with everything he had. It went on a few minutes as Duncan desperately tried to get out of the lava pit then, he disappeared as he sank into the burning depths of the lava.

Belloc and all the other Kaijus waited, curious to see whether the boy was gonna survive or not. Not a minute or two later, something or more like someone shot out of the lava, catching everyone's eyes. He landed on a rock not too far away from Belloc, breathing heavily with smoke coming out from now his transformed body. Standing before everyone was Duncan in his brand new form of a Kaiju. His shirt has burned away into nothing in the lava, which shows everyone his new body that was filled with traits of what a Kaiju should have.

Duncan inhaled sharply as he stared at his now clawed fingers and changed features.

He felt something burned in his chest. Something so hot and so wild that it made him growl and roar out into the air, breathing out huge waves of flames as big and as powerful as Belloc's to the roof of the cave while they all watched.

The Kaijus from the other side of the cave watched, amazed and some, terrified as they covered their selves.

Everything started to become a blur for Duncan as he panted and collapsed onto the rocks, having no more strength left after going through his transformation for the very first time as an heir to inherit the throne of the King of the Kaijus. And after that, everything went black.
