CHAPTER FIVE -----▹
The thing about Iskra's ability to teleport is she actually has to have a place she's been to in mind and the only thing on her mind at the time was keeping Kate safe. The redhead was shocked to see where she had ended up, the first thing she noticed was the crisp mountain air, her eyebrows pulled together in thought.
That's when she saw it, the house she grew up in, outside of moving around a lot this is the place where she spent the most time, she could remember Maria and Natasha buying it after a particularly bad mission.
"That's the last of them," Maria announced, and Natasha smiled, her arm in a sling, "I love you," Natasha smiled, wrapping one arm around the brunette, "Love you too, Tasha," Maria spoke placing a kiss on the redhead's cheek, a car pulled into the unpaved driveway, Clint stepped out, "Your daughter is very talkative," he spoke walking up towards the pair, "Is that the nice way of saying she annoyed you the whole way here?" Natasha rose an eyebrow at him. "Your words, not mine." the redhead elbowed him in the ribs, lightly, "Ow!" he exclaimed offended. "Don't be mean to my daughter," she shrugged.
Maria rolled her eyes at the pair walking towards Clint's car to get Iskra out of it, "Hi baby," she greeted as the eight-year-old threw her arms around the brunette, "Mommy!" she spoke happily, Maria set Iskra down on the ground, and took her hand, the mountain air hitting her lungs, "What do you think of it here?" Maria asked a smile on her face, "It's so cool!" Iskra exclaimed, her Russian accent shining through at all the excitement, the blonde spun in a circle looking all around her, that's when she spotted Nat, "Mama!" she exclaimed taking off towards her, crashing right into the redhead's legs, hugging them tightly, "ни малышка" (hi, baby) Nat spoke leaning down to kiss the top of her head.
"The mountains are so cool, Mama! Look at 'em!" Iskra exclaimed, "They are pretty cool aren't they?" Natasha responded a smile lighting up her face, "Can we go hiking tomorrow? Pretty pleeeeeease," Maria raised an eyebrow at Natasha knowing the redhead couldn't say no to Iskra. "Of course, we can! Uncle Clint, will even come with us," Natasha spoke and Clint's face dropped, "He will?"
"Yes, he will." Maria agreed, gently bumping Nat's shoulder, "I better be in the wedding when you two get married, Nat never would've asked you out if it wasn't for me." Clint stated, "Oh, whatever, Barton." Natasha groaned, "Do I get to be the flower girl?" Iskra questioned her eyes sparkling, "Of course, малышка" (baby)
Iskra shook her head slightly, blinking away the tears that had formed in her eyes, she turned around and saw Fisk beginning to stand up, "Останься, вниз" (Stay down), she spoke lowly the purple hue, returning to her eyes, "Where the hell are we?" he asked angrily, continuing to stand up, Iskra sent a spark of energy at him pushing him back to the ground, "I'm surprised you don't know...since you seem to know everything else about me," the redhead bite out, Russian accent slipping through.
The teleportation had weakened Iskra, so she knew it was probably best to lay off her powers a bit, he approached her sending blow after blow which Iskra blocked, "I can tell you're getting drained, you know since you haven't used your powers...I could probably kill you right here." he taunted, "I'd like to see you try." she spat, he kicked her in the ribs at least twice, but the redhead was losing track, a metallic taste rose to her mouth, as she coughed, gasping for air, he pulled out a gun, and Iskra couldn't figure out where the hell he got it but before he could shoot it, she knocked it out of his hand with a wisp of purple.
"The only person dying today is you."

"We have to talk"
Kate's phone call was very interesting, to say the least, she wasn't even sure why she decided to make the call. It just seemed like the right thing to do during the moment. The file folder with Iskra's name stared back at her, there was no sign of her anywhere, and Kate had no idea where the redhead could've taken Kingpin. As for Sam and Bucky, she hadn't heard from them in a while, they were trying to get out of whatever mess they had created.
The brunette was only partially freaking out...what if she hadn't made the right decision.
"You can't tell Iskra. Promise me you won't tell her."
"What? Doesn't she have a right to know?"
"It will only make things worse for her, promise me."
There was a crackling over the comms, "Iskra? Kate? Either of you there?" Kate's eyes widened, "Uh, yeah...yeah, I'm here, Iskra-she...I don't...I don't know where she went." the brunette breathed, "What do you mean?" Bucky's voice interrupted, "I mean she teleported her and Kingpin out of this room, and I have no idea where she went." Kate stated, removing one of the pieces of paper out of Iskra's folder tucking it away separately. "Ok, well we've got to get out of here and find Iskra, likelihood is she got far away from this building so..." Bucky spoke, "Where are you?" Sam questioned, "I thought we weren't supposed to-" Kate stopped midsentence, spotting movement in the corner of the room.
"Show yourself." She demanded drawing her bow when no one moved away from the corner, Kate approached it cautiously, and instead of finding a person she found a small cat, she breathed a sigh of relief lowering her weapon. "Ok, I'm in his office," Kate stated voice unwavering. "We're on our way," Sam replied.
The three of them did end up making it out of the building, with only minor injuries, and Kate was dialing Iskra's number for the third time, still not getting a response, "Sorry, the old Iskra can't come to the phone now...why? oh, cause she's dead....leave a message at the beep." Kate rolled her eyes, this is the fourth time that she's listened to Taylor Swift reference, and each time it gets more ridiculous. "Hey Iskra, it's me again. Please call me back we're all worried about you."
"Still nothing?" Sam asked and Kate shook her head, "Hey, we'll find her." he reassured the brunette. "What if we don't, then what?" Kate asked slipping a piece of hair behind her ear, "You're supposed to be the positive one." Bucky noted, and Kate rolled her eyes, just wanting to see Iskra.
Kate's phone rang out, "It's her." she breathed, seeing the redhead's name flash across the screen.
-----
Iskra couldn't understand what had just happened, only moments ago, she had been standing over Kingpin, about to pull the trigger on her gun, hopefully killing the man, and the next there were police, "Shit." she cursed, mustering up all of her remaining strength to get the hell out of there, a bullet clipped the edge of her arm right before she disappeared, reappearing seconds later outside of what was previously the Avenger's compound.
All that was left was rubble, but she knew that she didn't know how she ended up there but pulled out her phone hoping to have some sort of signal, she saw multiple miscalls from Kate, Bucky, and Sam. No one else really knew there was anything wrong, she dialed Kate's number, "Iskra?" Kate's voice came through the phone, "I screwed up," she spoke moving the phone to speaker so she could wrap up her arm, "Are you guys safe?" Her voice wavered briefly as she inhaled sharply in pain, "Yeah, yeah, we're all good, yup." Kate replied, "Are you?"
Iskra pressed her lips together, "I, uh, that's a bit of a complicated question." the redhead murmured, "Kate, we're gonna have to use my backup plan." Iskra whispered, "Wha...what's the plan?" Kate asked, "There's a burner phone in the left pocket of that bag we took, there is one number in it, you will text me, in exactly 48 hours, and I will send someone to get you, we have to disappear." Iskra explained, "Look, I have to go, but um, I'll see you soon, ok?" Kate nodded, "Yeah, yeah, good." she spoke before the tone signaling that the call ended rang out. Iskra sighed, dialing a second number,
"Mason, it's me."
