On their next shift, the 118 was called to an emergency in a parking lot where a woman was hit by a van and ran over by a car.

"LAFD. Step aside, please." Bobby ordered.

"I didn't know what to do." An old woman said to Bobby who walked up to her. "I was afraid to move the car."

"You did the right thing. We'll take it from here." Bobby said.

"Do any of you have a pen? I've got a partial license plate." The woman who was hit by a car said to the rest of the members of the 118 who had just bent down. "Somebody should write it down."

"Don't worry about the license plate, ma'am. It's right here on the back of the car," Eddie said.

"Not this car. The car that hit me." The woman said.

"Uh, wait, this isn't the car that hit you?" Buck asked in confusion. Kate and Bobby had confused faces as well.

"No, this is the car that ran me over. Both better be insured."

"Let's just focus on getting you out of here first, ma'am." Kate said.

"I think there's enough room. We can slide a backboard under here and pull her out that way." Buck said as he motioned the way they could take the woman out.

"Okay, can you tell me your name?" Eddie asked.

"Lorraine." The woman answered.

"Hey, wait. Don't we know you?" Hen asked in confusion. Kate stopped doing what she was doing and looked at Lorraine with a confused expression.

"Uh, no, I don't... I don't think so." Lorraine said.

"Last year, Hancock Park." Hen said and the memory appeared in Kate's head.

"That's right. I never forget a femur." Chim said.

"Hmm." Athena hmmed as she had also appeared which made Lorraine chuckled nervously as she saw the police officer. "It's the damned Porch Pirate."

They managed to transport Lorraine to the hospital and after she recoverd, she would go to jail.

Their next call was at a cemetery.

"Sergeant Grant." Bobby said as he walked towards Athena.

"Captain. Mr Personality over here starts coughing, grabbed his side and fell over. Could be appendicitis. I'm not sure." She said to Bobby and made their way through the people who were blocking the way.

"Sir, I'm just gonna examine you for a second here." Bobby said as he bent down. "Oh. Okay, we got a colostomy bag, probably backing up. You're gonna have to intubate him. Sir, just try to relax. These paramedics here are gonna attend you." 

Hen and Chim bent down to start intubate him. Buck, Kate and Eddie were watching and seeing if Bobby needed something. When Hen and Chim started, the man, Scooter, groaned and stopped them by speaking up.

"Oh, hell no." This made Kate raise her eyebrows and cross her arms in her chest. "You do it." He said to Bobby. Kate's body tenses in anger. The guy was racist and stupid.

"Sir, I'm not a trained paramedic." Bobby said. "I can't intubate you. They can."

"I'm fine." Scooter said weakly.

"Sir, you're not fine. Your bowel is probably obstructed. The contents of you colostomy bag are backing up into your system. You're about to choke in you own waste. You will suffocate and die." Chim said as he bent down again.

"Get... away." Scooter said. 

"Okay, sir, if you refuse care, we cannot administer it by force." Bobby said. 

"What about him?" He asked Eddie.

"Diaz." Bobby ordered Eddie who nodded and bent down.

"Diaz. What kind of name is that?" Scooter asked which made Kate take a deep breath at the guy's actions towards Eddie. 

Eddie looked up at the twins, both having angry expressions."My father's from Mexico. My mother's Swedish. I can help you out with the Swedish part. But no one told me which half that is." Eddie said. Scooter shock is head and Eddie stood up and threw his hands in the air in defense and stood next to Kate.

"You! The blondie?" He asked Kate who has an angry expression.

"Do you wanna know where I'm from first or we'll skip to your denial?" She asked sarcastically, arms still on her chest.

"Can you just...?" Scooter started talking but his coughing stopped him from speaking.

"He's gonna aspirate." Hen said. Not even a second later, Scooter rolled on his side and started aspirating. "And he's aspirating."

"Actual diarrhea of the mounth. Outstanding." Chim said sarcastically.

"Okay, guys, let's get to work." Hen said.

"Let me roll him over." Eddie said.

They rolled him over and put him on a gurney to transport him to the hospital.

"Well done." Maddie, who came with Athena, said to the twins and Bobby as they walked up to her.

"Hey, Mads." Kate said as she feelt a little bit more relaxed to see her sister and hugged her.

"Right, your ride-along today. Uh, Cap, this is our sister Maddie." Buck said fter the girls pulled away.

"Great to finally meet you." Bobby said.

"Yeah, you, too. I've heard nothing but wonderful things about you." Maddie said.

"Well, don't believe everything your little brother tells you, but, now, your little sister, maybe some things." Bobby said which made Kate chuckle.

"I meant from her." Maddie said as Athena walked towards them.

"Ah, the feeling's mutual."

They talked for a little while until they had to get back to work.

After their shift, Kate decided to give the Diaz's a little surprise at their house. She parked her car in the parking lot of their house. She locked the car and walked to the porch. She had a box with the cookies she had made once and given to Eddie so the Diaz boys could eat them. She knocked on the door of their house. Eddie answered with a confused expression but then replaced with a smile. 

"Hey." She greeted.

"Hey, didn't we just see each other?" Eddie asked and motioned her to come in.

"Well, yeah. But I haven't seen little superman." She said as she walked inside. "I figured out school would be over by now. Is he home?"

"Yeah, living room." He said as they started walking to the living room. "What you got there?" He pointde to the box on her hands.

"Oh, it's just the cookies I made you a few days ago." She said as she walked into the living room to find Chris playing video games.

He turned around and a big smile appeared on his face. 

"Katie!" He exclaimed as he stood up and walked to give her a hug. Her smile grew bigger once she heard the nickname that Carla gave her. His little arms wrapped around her waist.

"Hey, Superman. I got you a little something." She said after they hugged each other. She handed him the box with the cookies.

"Umm, smells good. I bet it tastes good too." Chris smiled. Eddie watched their conversation with a grin on his face.

"Don't you have something for Katie as well?" Eddie asked the little boy who had a smile on his face.

"Oh, yeah! I'm gonna go get it. You guys sit down."

"Ooh, what is it?" Kate asked excited as she sat on the couch next to Eddie.

"You'll see." Chris said already walking to his room.

Kate watched him as he went into his room and turned her head to face Eddie who was still watching Chris's bedroom door.

"Hey, are you okay?" Kate asked, her lips now tugged into a flat line. She was worried about Eddie due to the emergency at the cemetery where they had to save that old nasty man. Eddie understood what she meant.

"Yeah. I'm fine. I mean, we have to deal with these things. He's just an awful person."

Kate nodded. "I just wish people were more respectuf, I mean, you were there to save him and he treated you like... like... garbage. Like he didn't need you or like he could save himself." She said as she threw her hands in the air in frustration.

"Hey, hey, it's okay. The guy's probably retired. He's got nothing to do with his life." He joked to smooth the environment. She chuckled a little.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." She said. Chris finally came out of his room with a paper in his hands. He stood in from of the adults.

"Here you go." He handed the paper to Kate who had a smile on her face. "It's you, me, dad and Buck."

"He always draws you in colours." Eddie said with a big smile on his face as well. Small tears started forming on her eyes.

"Wow. This is amazing, Chris. Thank you so much. I love it." Kate said happily. She looked up to face the little boy. "I'm going to frame it." And, with that, Chris smiled in a thankful way. 

Kate looked at the watch on her wrist. "Well, it's getting late. Maybe I should go." She said as she stood up.

"You could, you know, stay for dinner. I'm ordering chinese." Eddie said as he also stood up. 

Kate chuckled. "Thanks. That's really sweet, but Buck and Maddie are waiting for me at home. Maybe next time?" She said. Eddie and Chris nodded.

She feelt arms on her waist again and looked down to see Chris. "Goodbye, Katie." 

"Goodbye, little superman." She said as they pulled away.

Eddie and her started walking to the front door.

"Well, thanks for the surprise." Eddie said.

"Anytime." She said as he opened the door for her. "Good night, Eds." 

He smiled at the nickname she gave him. "Good night, Katie." She smiled at the nickname as well.

She waved from her car and left the parking lot. Eddie only went back indoors once he couldn't see her car, a smile still on his face.
