Rylie walked down the street. "There's the witch." Whispered the townsfolk. "Look away Tommy!" A mother beckoned her son. 'So much for a nice walk...' thought Rylie. She hurried to an alleyway. There she saw a pack of cats. Rylie sat there. All the cats fought for her attention. One got left out. The lonely kitten had black on most of it. But it's paws were a nice ginger. Ginger spots speckled it's back.  "Aww you're all so cute." Rylie said. She accidentally set a fire. All the cats ran. Except the outcast kitten. "Wow." She said as she put out the fire. "Abra-commutative- catusic." Said Rylie. "What?" The kitten mewed. "Wow! I can talk?" The kitten bolted around. "Yeah. Anyway, what's your name?" Asked Rylie. "I'm Kai." The cat said defensively. "Who are you?" "I'm Rylie." She response to the kitten. "You seem to need to go somewhere." Kai said. "Oh, I do, come on!" Said Rylie. They ran. 

Rylie dashed as fast as she could. Kai's feet dangled. They stopped by the shore. "Oh. My horoscope predicted this." Kai said. "Shut up." Rylie said. A girl with a soft seal hoodie walked over to her. "Hey ry." The girl said. "Hey Jackie!" Rylie said. "Here's a kitten I found! I did magic on it, and now he can talk!" She shoved Kai in Jackie's face. "Hi, you are a selkie, correct?0 asked Kai. Jackie looked surprised that the kitten one her species. "A what?" Asked Rylie. "It's seal people who use pelts to turn into humans." Explained Kai. "Yeah. That's about it." Jackie said shyly. "Come on!" Said Rylie. "We need to go get Damien." Said Rylie. "Why? It's nice right now." Reasoned Jackie nervously. "Come on! What's wrong?" Asked Rylie. "Nothing." Jackie said. Kai rooted  through her pockets. He found a piece of paper. He read it quietly.

Rylie, there's something I want to tell you... I kinda like you...

"Oop!" Said Kai. "That's some tea!" "What is?" Asked Rylie. "Oh- Umm. I was listening to the birds." Lied Kai. He winked at Jackie. Jackie smiled, happy he didn't tell Rylie. "Anyway, come on!" She picked up Kai and pulled Jackie by the arm.
