"Mom, you don't have to come in with us," Reese said as his mother stopped the car in front of the movie theater. "We're Not kids anymore. I'm eleven now."

"But you're still a kid, Reese," she said with a stern look in her eye.

The two boys in the back seat groaned. If Reese 's mom insisted on coming then they wouldn't get to see The movie they really wanted to see. She would make them see some boring baby movie. Reese and his friends wanted to see a blood bath. Denny and Jordon just hoped that Reese could sweet talk his mom into letting them go in alone.

"It's just a movie, mom," Reese said. "We're just going to go in and get our tickets and popcorn and find some good snacks, nothing dangerous about that."

Marianna just looked at her son. He gave a good argument, and Mike often told her that she couldn't keep him sheltered all the time. She was only a little older than he was when she was left to fend for herself. As much as she didn't want to leave the boys alone even for a moment she would just so she didn't get a lecture from Mike Logan.

"Alright," she said. Reese was about to say something when she pointed a finger at him and continued her somewhat speech. "I'll pick you boys up in exactly two hours so no goofing off. Got it?"

"Sure, Mom, whatever you say," Reese said and flashed her a smile. "Let's go, guys." He exited the car at the same time as his two friends. Reese waved to his mother before going inside.

Once inside, the boys got it in line to buy their tickets. Attack of the Killer Slugs was playing, but it was a rated R movie. Reese had a plan though. He was an empath after all, but he also had a way if making people believe him no matter how farfetched his story was. Plus, he was tall for his age, so that was a plus.

When they reached the booth the woman behind the counter asked what they wanted to see.

"Three for Killer Slugs," he said.

"You have to be seventeen to get into that movie," the woman she without missing a step.

"Don't I look seventeen?" he asked as he stared into her eyes.

"Well," she said letting the word linger. Reese flashed her a smile, and she become instantly mesmerized. "Okay, the second theater on the right." She handed Reese three tickets.

As they walked way, Denny was laughing. "I love it when he does that."

"Even though it's dishonest," Jordon said and pushed his glasses back up.

"J, don't be such a stiff," Denny said as they got in line to get their popcorn and drinks.

Reese heard a commotion and looked over towards the theater where their movie was playing. He saw a girl there. She had messy dark brown hair, and she was wearing pink dyed jeans and a denim jacket. She was fighting with the ticket taker. "Hey, guys, I'll be right back," Reese said.

Reese raced over to were the commotion was taking place. "I said I wasn't trying to sneak in," the girl said raising her voice in defiance. "I just lost my ticket."

"I've heard that one before, girly," he said rolling his eyes. It was obvious that he wasn't buying her story. "Now, you either get out of here now or I call the cops and your parents." The girl had a look of fright on her face, so what could Reese do but step up to her rescue.

"Hey, what's going on?" Reese asked.

"None of your concern, kid," the man said and was about to drag the girl off.

"It is when yore messing with my cousin," he said. It was a lie, but one this man couldn't prove. Besides, Reese was an expert of making up stories on the spot and having people actually believe them. "Now, let her go. I got her ticket right here."

"Oh, yeah," the man said, while still keeping hold of the girl. Reese noticed a spark coming from her hand. He had to act fast before this situation got out of control. "If she's your cousin then what's her name."

Now he was stuck, but then he saw the necklace around her neck. It had a name on it, and it must have been her name. "It's Millie," he said, trying not to sound like he was guessing. "Now, let her go."

"Fine," he said, "but no more funny business or you're both out."

"Sure thing, sir, we're fine upstanding citizens," Reese said as the man let go of Millie. "Let's go, Cuz."

Millie looked back and stuck her tongue out at the man, and then looked back at Reese. "How did you know my name?" She whispered.

"Your necklace," he whispered back. She just giggled as he led her towards his friends.

"So who's this?" Denny asked, giving Millie a once over. "New girlfriend?"

"No, this is Millie," Reese said. "My cousin, remember?" Reese knew the ticket taker was still watching, just waiting for them to slip up. He sensed that the guy didn't like kids very much and would take great pleasure in busting them.

"Cousin, you don't have..." Denny said until Jordon smacked him in the head.

"Pretend," Jordon said. Even though he didn't like deceiving people, he didn't this girl to get into any trouble. "If we're going to lie we best keep up with it."

Reese went back up to the ticket booth and bought another ticket for Millie. The ticket taker was distracted long enough and didn't see him do it, while the other two boys took Millie to get some drinks and popcorn. She insisted on the cheese flavored popcorn, and Denny really didn't like that kind. He wanted the chocolate, which turned everyone else's noses up. He had his own money, so he decided that was what he was going to get.

"Come on, guys," Denny said. "Time for a bloodbath." Then he looked over at Millie. "Oh, and you too."

Millie gave him a scowl as she took her soda that Jordon generously offered to pay for. He turned to her and said, "Let me carry that for you, Millie."

"Sure, thanks," she said, "and what's your name again?"

"Oh, it's Jordon," he said, getting a little bashful.

"Well, at least chivalry isn't dead," she said as Jordon took her drink for her. Millie passed Denny and gave him a look of disdain. Reese thought the whole thing was rather funny and laughed at his friend's stupidity.

"What?" Denny said as they neared the theater where their movie was playing. Millie stayed close to Jordon. He had been so nice to her, and if she was going to sit by any of the boys, it would be him.

As they took their seats, Millie ended up sitting in between Jordon and Denny. Jordon seemed fine with it and helped her with her drink and popcorn.

"Thank you, Jordon," she said sweetly. "At least I know one of you is a gentleman." She then looked over at Denny, who just gave her a scowl. She was going to get him back for that and before this movie was over. She looked down and saw a ten dollar bill peeking out of his pocket. Had he known she was an expert thief, he may not have been so easy-going with his stash.

In the matter of a few seconds the lights turned down, and the movie began.

Millie only pretended watch the the movie which wasn't hard. It was after all the third time She had seen this particular film. She saw that the three boys she was with were too preoccupied with the movie to notice her. She reached over to the boy with the dusty brown hair and lightly took her fingers and slipped the ten dollar bill out of his pocket. She smirked at the thought of how he would react when he found the money missing, but it would be his own fault for being so careless.

As for the boy in the glasses, she thought for a moment before pondering on the thought of stealing from him. After all, he had been so nice to her from that idiot that caught her trying to sneak in.

Well, a girl's gotta live, she thought as she looked over and saw his wallet sticking out of his back pocket. That was just too easy. All she needed was a distraction.

The bathroom would be a good excuse. They were just boys after all. After about ten minutes she finished her soda, then she made her move around in her chair and hopped over the back of the seat.

"Millie, where are you doing?" Jordon whispered to her as she was about to walk towards the back of Reese 's chair.

"Bathroom," She whispered back. He quickly turned back to the movie and she glided slowly passed Reese 's chair. In the back where the seat met the back was a thin line of open space and gracefully grabbed the wallet, slipping it out slowly. It was a technique she had so perfected that the victim wouldn't feel a thing and by the time they would discover they had been robbed, she would be long gone.

She wanted to get out of the theater as quickly as possible, but she didn't want to rush out too fast and draw attention to herself.

She casually but quickly walked out of the theater after having concealed the money and wallet in her bag. She ducked down an alley and took a wallet out. She intended on throwing it out after taking out anything valuable, but Millie spotted a picture. It was of a boy named Reese and a woman. She figured it was his mother. She looked so beautiful and happy in that picture with the boy. She wanted so much to have that but knew she never would. She was about to throw the wallet in the trash, but something stopped her and instead she put it back in her bag and left the alley.

What the future would bring she was uncertain, but something was about to happen... something big.
